I was hesitant about trying mission because I don't typically like the order and go type food places, but we were driving by Sunday and hungry so we decided to stop in. After looking over the menu a little; I decided to get the three meat sampler, but I wanted to try the salmon so opted for that as one of the meats with a 4.50 upcharge. All the sides are a la Carte, but they have combos where you can add them as well. The salmon was good, not excellent, but edible. The brisket was really good and the shrimp was probably my favorite(keep in mind, it's here for a limited time. I got the cole slaw on the side and that was also really good. My meal came to 23 dollars, which was a little steep for a fast food like place. However, they gave generous portions of food, too much to eat in one sitting. When you got to your table there are six different kinds of sauces so I made it my point to try every one. What I liked about mission is their "mission" to support veterans and police. Will I be back? Likely. I won't rush back but if I'm in the area again I will definitely stop by. read more

The experience was pretty impressive. The level of care by the staff was great and the food was pretty darn tasty as well. The sauce options were plentiful. This is the equivalent of fast food BBQ. I was underwhelmed by the portion sizes, the long CFA type lines, and the service. They were friendly but our order was haphazard and by the time we got all of it we'd finished the rest of our meal. I liked the variety of sauces- two are very similar to those at at Famous Dave's. The prices are reasonable, so it's definitely worth checking out. The cornbread is a cross between yankee and southern.. it's interesting. The Mac and cheese is a pass, unless you like the stuff at most buffets/Boston market. (In which case, I'm sorry no one has ever made you the real baked stuff ) The real sodas were a nice touch. I want to say that this is a great bbq place. I got the party pack for my sister's birthday and it was delicious. We had brisket, pulled chicken, pulled pork, and the turkey we got the Mac and cheese, baked beans and string beans with bacon everything was great. This review is based on my two recent visits. My take out orders contained a sampler platter of three meats, and a brisket sandwich. All of the food was outstanding. For the barbeque sauce, there are several options, to suit a variety of palates. My favorites were the Smoky Mountain and the Tupelo Honey Heat. During my visits, the take-out service was outstanding and the restaurant was clean. Mission Barbeque also appears to be quite active in support of the local community -- including law enforcement, first responders, and military -- which I find commendable. Food was delicious (I had the meat sampler & tried the brisket & the pulled pork), and service was quick & efficient. I went at lunchtime on a Saturday & was surprised to find they were not very busy - just a handful of customers eating outside & only a couple in line/waiting for their orders. I felt comfortable with their safety measures. Indoor dining had just been reinstated & they had plenty of distance between open tables (many tables were marked closed to comply w/safe distancing), although none were in use at the time. I was there today for Armed Forces Week for a take out. The staff was very friendly and polite. I ordered the smokehouse barbecue sandwich along with fries. The service was very quick. For the smokehouse Barbecue Brisket, it was awesome. The texture and taste was very good soft and tasty. The seasoned fries was hot and fresh. Crispy on the out side and soft on the inside and not too spicy. Its the first time i've been there and won't be the last. I'm going back to try other selections on the menu. Ordered take-out and the service was excellent. Staff is professional and very helpful. I got an order of the sliced brisket and 5 St. Louis ribs. Smoke on brisket was good and meat was moist. Wish I had chosen my BBQ sauces better, as the Texas Twang wasn't what I was really looking for, but that's on me. The ribs had a beautiful smoky flavor and I didn't even need a wet sauce as they were so moist. Everything was excellent. So why only 4 stars? Very good service. Came for a staff lunch and although I don't eat much meat I got a salad that was surprisingly really fresh and good. Also sampled sides of fries and mac and cheese and both were delicious. All of my coworkers loved their meals. Delicious food. Very friendly staff...too friendly. I appreciate a how are you but when you walk in at get greeted by their entire staff at once it loses the authentic and genuine attitude and just seems forced. Absolutely great food and fantastic sauces. One thing I don't like is getting questioned on how the food is while I'm clearly on the phone and have a mouthful of food and than not leaving the table until you give a spoken answer. Apparently a nod won't do. Makes you feel quite uncomfortable and the attitudes are so incredibly forced it makes it feel less real. The staff is the one reason it's not a 5 star. I love their food! It's so good! My sisters wedding was catered by this company and literally the best wedding food in history. I loved their pulled pork. Most places can't make it right but the excel at making it the best! I say loved because I am allergic to pork and can't eat it anymore. But I'd recommend this place over anywhere else for bbq food. I love good BBQ. Since I sometimes work near the Mission BBQ, i was waiting for opening day. I was kind of pumped that a new BBQ place was setting up. It was closer than Philly and Audubon (where the two BBQ places I frequent are located). It didn't hurt that I wouldn't have to pay a toll every time I had a BBQ craving. I was driving by the other day and saw that the restaurant had finally opened. I made a note to stop by on my way home. The place was pretty crowded. I suspect, like me, tons of BBQ lovers were waiting for it to open. Okay, so I parked and went inside. The place was very clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I got a mixed platter (3 meats). I ordered two different kinds of ribs, and brisket. I also ordered baked beans and a brownie. I had asked the cashier if she had tried the brownie. She said it was really good. I also hit a few sauces, and ask specifically for a spicy one. Anyway, I get home and open things up. My overall opinion is that it's kind of "chain-y" BBQ. The brisket was okay, I guess. The ribs fall in the same category, as did the baked beans and brownie. However, I did like the cornbread! I wish I had ordered extra of that. I'm a big believer that great BBQ doesn't need much (or any, if it's really good) sauce. There was only one sauce that I actually felt was worth using. I placed an order by phone on a Friday evening, and drove to Mission to pick it up. While there were appropriate social distancing markings on the floor, and restricted seating, there was WHOLESALE violation of distancing guidelines. Order takers/cashiers were standing shoulder to shoulder behind the counter with customers waiting at each station. There were no plastic sheets between cashiers and customers, although they were no more than 2 feet apart. There was no space to wait the 10 minutes for the order to be prepared (even though I had ordered in advance) so customers needed to dodge each other and still could not distance responsibly. Clearly, management was not prepared for the number of people in the store, and apparently did not care. On the positive side, the food was good, although two identical sandwiches were prepared differently (one with a dollop of coleslaw and one without) and a shared order of french fries was packed in the same container as one of the sandwiches -- not separately. Also everyone in the restaurant, staff and customers, wore masks. I won't be back until the pandemic is over. read more

Very good barbecue that is reasonably priced. Don't let the long line scare you away as it moves quickly and you always find a seat. They are still in the learning stages when it comes to getting your order correct, but the food is worth any mistakes. No complaints on the building itself. The building is new, clean, and very patriotic. Where I give this review 3 stars is because the price to food ratio isn't great. I get it, they sell BBQ and that stuff ain't cheap, but I've been to BBQ joints where for $12-15 you can get a lot more. The meat is delicious don't get me wrong, but you have to spend anywhere from 8-11$ just for the meat, then the sides are $2 extra and the portions for the sides aren't great. The premium for BBQ meat here just isn't worthwhile for me. read more

Kind of an in the middle place. Not great but not bad. This is more or less mid level chain food. Brisket was super tender but not a lot of BBQ flavor. Classic sausage was unimpressive. The ribs weren't bad but the gist is the whole thing lacks the slow smoked flavor of great BBQ which sums up this place. Skip the coleslaw. I think the biggest letdown are the sauces. 6 wildly different choices based on regions and none really hit the mark... If you are stuck in a rut and looking for an alternative to the Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Bertucci's, Outback mix then give this a try. I really like this place and apparently so does everyone else, judging by the long line today but the line moved at a reasonable pace and it'll probably die down in a month. I like the atmosphere here too. You can definitely eat by yourself here and not feel awkward. I had the brisket and my guest had pulled pork. Both were excellent. I liked the fries and Mac n cheese too. They have 6 sauces on the table and my favorite was the KC mixed with a little Southern Belle. They also have people roaming and asking you if you need anything or want your trash taken away. I thought that was a nice touch. They had banana cream pie but didn't get to try it. The cornbread was alright. Frankly I think Medport has a nicer cornbread which is funny. Also I think they could use an additional dessert. One option isn't much. Not only were they accommodating, they were more welcoming than almost any other restaurant I've been to in the area and not once did I feel rushed to leave.
