On this cold Monday evening after the snow storm, I went to Mission BBQ due to there wasnt many options as stores were closed. There were a few patrons dining in. I was greeted by the cashier. She explained my options. I was not familiar with it being a la carte option. Its rather expense for this place. I chose the 2 meat option for $14.19 (beef and yard bird) w/greens and coleslaw. The young lady said $27 even. I was beyond confused. She explained that the combo is $6 for 1 side and soda or $8.49 for 2 sides and a soda. I said well both combo options are cheaper then what you are charging me. She said oh you did not say combo and the chicken was a $4 upcharge that she didnt mention prior. Great customers service would have mentioned that. So I decided to get pulled chicken and beef and the combo. For $23. I got home and the food was not good. The beef was to be lean and it was tough. The greens were too sweet and the cornbread was dry and hard to digest. The coleslaw was okay and my unsweeted icetea. I would rather spend my hard earned money at a sit down restaurant then here. read more

How grateful we are to Mission BBQ for always honoring their Veterans with "Armed Forces Week." During this week, they offer all active-duty service members and veterans a free sandwich on their designated day (Arm, Air Force, Navy, etc.). We came for a late dinner. We were warmly greeted by Mikaela and thanked for our service. We enjoyed two moist brisket sandwiches. They were very moist and delicious. Stopped by a few days ago and was greeted as always, "Hiii Folks!" I opted for the black plate special which happened to be grilled bbq shrimp! My first time trying the shrimp and they were absolutely delicious. I paired the shrimp with the yummy kickin' collard greens and my faves, the fresh cut fries! My husband loves their ribs so he chose the 10 bone option with the mac n' cheese and kickin' collard greens as well! We ate good and slept even better. This is my go to location for Mission BBQ. Out of all the locations this one is by far my favorite. There is ample parking. The place is always hopping with people but not enough to make you want to turn around and leave. The people who work there appear to enjoy their job and it shows. The food is always delicious. I really love the moist brisket with a side of fries and an iced tea with lemonade. And if you are really lucky when they have the bread pudding, OMG, to die for. Used to be good, not sure what happened. Got the pulled pork with an odd shaped object in it that was hard and covered in a rubbery substance. Top notch Mission Bbq experience. Im not sure how a chain can maintain such consistency in their food as well as their customer service, but Mission has it dialed. Never having been inside a Mission BBQ, I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly the staff were here. Since it was my first time, an employee came to my table and explained the sauces and even gave me a coupon for a free sandwich on my next visit. He then came around a few more times with free samples of tasty food. So nice and enthusiastic!! The brisket sandwich was delicious. A big hunk of brisket on a bun with lots of sauce options. I ate little bites of meat with each sauce so I could decide which I enjoyed the most. The mac and cheese was gooey and tasty! servers are SO NICE and kind. one kept giving us free food. the inside of the restaurant is cool too, good to go with family or a group of friends. i ordered salmon and i have to say it is mid. if i eat my salmon first the fries are cold, and if i eat my fries first, the salmon is cold (my experience with several mission bbqs). not really my favorite personally, but i think if you really like bbq you will love this place. read more

Decided to grab a pound of brisket, sides of mac n cheese and baked beans. I also got a smaller side of green beans and banana pudding. First of I ordered online and it was ready at the time the pick up said. So I was happy about that. The inside looked nice and clean, and it appeared as though they were nice and organized. Now this was the day before the fourth but no excuses. Now mission bbq depending on location has been hit or miss nor me in the past. This was my first time at this location. The brisket was so flavorless, and super fatty. I mean I have eaten brisket from a lot of mission bbq and I was so disappointed. I know where you get moist that there is going to be fat but this is supposed to be a pound of meat that was mostly fat. Plus without seasoning/rub it just tasted like meat and fat, no other flavor that was coming through. The bbq sauce didn't even help. The Mac n cheese was decent, the green beans were good, the bbq brisket beans were just okay, they were tangier than I am used to. The he banana pudding was actually good. Overall, it was just okay. I've had better, maybe it was an off day because of the holiday, I'm not sure but maybe I'll give it another try on a random day. read more

Low and behold, my bride and I stop by for a late lunch and I had the video of that Alabama drizzled sando etched in my psyche. And I ordered it. I did the XXL combo with the Mac and Cheese and slaw. We've put off visiting this chain for years because of that... it's a chain. How special could it actually be? We have friends and family that professionally grill, smoke, and barbecue... again... how special could this really be? Does it match up to uncle's multi-day smoked brisket? We'll see! It lived up, not 100%, but it still was delicious and we were pleased! I ordered the lean brisket sandwich and husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed lunch! The service was fantastic... almost too much! We walked in and were essentially yelled "Hey Folks" at by all the employees behind the counter. All the ladies were almost overwhelmingly sweet. Another lady came to check on us outside and make sure we were doing okay. Thank you for a positive 5 star experience. We visited right as they opened on a Saturday so I'm curious what it would be like in the middle of a dinner rush and what the quality of food will be like. We plan to be back! read more

I love going to Mission BBQ. The sides use to be my favorite until they started to load the green beans with bacon and the collard greens with a ton of tomatoes. I liked the concept of the place but today when we tried it, they messed up my order. I ordered the salmon and got what looks like a chicken sandwich. I doubted myself and thought: " I didn't know the salmon comes shredded in a bun!" Well, it definitely was not salmon. For anyone that reads my content, you know how I feel about chains. I'd rather patronize a local hole in the wall than go to a chain. I make occasional exceptions. Mission is one of those. My son goes to Towson. Mission is right nearby. When I pick up the boy, we always go somewhere interesting before heading home to New Jersey. And every adventure needs a good lunch. Mission is a terrific place. Easy in and out. We always have the same thing. Brisket, fries and beans. Cornbread. Spicy bbq sauce. Hey Corporate! Please refer to your Brisket as lean or marbled. Calling it "moist" gives me the skeeves. We get the juicy stuff. Wish the platters had more of it but what is served is always good. The beans are outstanding and fries, freshly cut, are very tasty although a lighter touch with the salt would be appreciated. I'm always excessively thirsty the rest of the day. We had a takeout sampler tonight -- and Mission BBQ was good! we had the salmon, the pulled chicken, the pulled pork, jalapeño cheddar sausage, and ribs. Everything was nice. The lightly rubbed salmon was really good, we also liked the chicken and the pork. The sausage was fine, a little hot from jalapeño, and bursts of cheddar gooey flavor. The pork ribs were dry rubbed and tender. All the meats were mild, the flavor was not intense. The extra sauces we had, Smoky Mountain, and Texas twang were good. The sides of beans were just OK, well cooked with bits of onion and bacon. The french fries were very nice. We also had blueberry cobbler which was good. In sum, a good tasting experience. The service was excellent. The person behind the cash register was friendly, and there was an extra person at the end of the line to make sure our order was all set, called us by name, and did a great job. Great new addition to Towson. It is a chain but a good one. They cultivate and do have that Austin style bbq vibe. I had a sampler. Shredded pork was ok. Sausage with jalapeño and cheese surprisingly good. Moist brisket was also nice. Fatty and full flavored. I thought the KC bbq sauce was a bit sour but wow, that old bay bbq sauce is special. The celery salt and paprika really spoke up even through the tomato paste. Impressive. I can see this place being really popular once covid ends and all the college kids come back. read more

Love this place. Food is a real bargain for how tasty and fresh it is, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The pulled pork is my go-to, but the chicken is also good, as are the ribs. Oh, and I don't know what they're doing to the mac and cheese, but it is DELICIOUS. My one complaint: sometimes, if you order ahead, you check in with the people at the counter, but then when they move you down to the spot where you're supposed to pick up your order, they "forget" about you, so you're waiting for like 10-15 minutes for food that's already made and boxed up. And if you try to ask "hey, is that my food sitting right there on the counter?" they tell you to wait and help everyone else before you. read more
