Who doesn't love getting boozy before a baseball game!? We got a pitcher of mimosa and ordered three entrees - Loaded Waffle Fries with Chicken, Mission Quesadilla with Steak and Tinga Brunch Bowl. All three items were quite delicious. The fries were truly loaded, filled the entire tray with big chunks of chicken. They do have loaded chips as well, so that might be something to consider if you want it less heavy. The Quesadilla was definitely my favorite - it was super cheesy and the steak was juicy and so flavorful. The bowl came with rice, chicken, scrambled eggs with cheese - it was quite good, simple and yummy. Quality of food is excellent, and it didn't break the bank! I would recommend this place if coming with friends on a game day looking for drinks. It'll be full and a good time. Everyone will get hungry after drinking, order some food, and think it's great. I would not recommend this place for your standard night looking for drinks and food. Maybe come only for drinks, but the food isn't good when you have all your marbles. The nachos are just good at best (can get much better ones at another Mexican restaurant up the street). My biggest disappointment were the tacos. I tried the double stack beef, carnitas, arrachera steak, and chicken tinga. Every single one was dry and lacked flavor. No sauce, no juicyness, and mostly bland. If I had to choose the best one it would be the carnitas one (least dry) but know the bar is low. Went here with friends tonight for a social event. Drinks were good, service was fairly quick but ordered a burrito and it was cold and missing the queso. Mentioned it to the waitress and she said that queso was the Spanish word for cheese as if I didn't know that. A casual Mexican restaurant that's great for brunch, and right across from the Nationals stadium, so expect a crowd on game day. Good food and drinks, and a fun atmosphere for a boozy weekend brunch. I was in the mood for a sweet item, so my only option on the menu was the toast with blackberry jam. Our server said it'd be enough for a meal, and calorically it was, but with it essentially being brioche buns with jam, it wasn't fully satisfying. By making it bottomless (everyone at your table must participate), the whole table got chips and salsa with free refills, which was a nice touch. All of the other dishes seemed pretty filling and looked tasty, so I'd recommend any of those, instead. The energy of the place is vibrant and fun--it's not so raucous that you're yelling to hear people at your table, but it still has a lot of energy, helped by the tv screens and groups of tables doing bottomless mimosas and bloody mary's. We came around 1:30pm on Saturday, and because there was a game just about to start as well as some private events occurring on the lower floors, we had to wait until 2 to get seated. The restaurant is close enough to the waterfront that you can kill time by walking around on a nice day. I am so impressed with Mission. First, I had Mission food several weeks ago as they donated food for a Happied DC Meet Up. The quesadillas and the wings were very memorable. Last night, a friend of mine coordinated a DMV does meetup for taco Tuesday and on a Nationals game night at Mission. It is my understanding Dora was the host that set up space for the group. First, we had a section on first floor right near the door and that was wonderful. The staff provided us with complimentary salsa, chips, quesdillas. Then the bartender was responsive to us and even made me a tasty non-alcoholic drink with sprite, pineapple juice and cranberry juice :) The wings are amazing and the sauce is what melts in your mouth. It's a great place to catch the game near the park, and it's gets a lively crowd! It's definitely a place I will check out again and I was very happy with the service. This place was packed full on a Sunday evening. Couldn't reserve a table, and a section was closed off due to being understaffed. I want to commend the manager and the staff members who still made it work for our large group of people, even though they were super busy. The manager was nice and understanding of our situation and ended up allowing our group sit in the closed off section, granted, we had to order food at the bar. Mission is open until midnight on weekend nights -- which is a godsend after a long nats game. Upon arriving around 11 PM, the bar wasn't very crowded, but as the game ended crowds started to form. If you're looking for a great happy hour menu for an after work group gathering, Mission Navy Yard is a great option. It's right by the Nats Stadium and has two large floors with plenty of seating. The happy hour prices are impressive. I ordered a $23 pitcher of margaritas and it served six full glasses of drinks. Also, taco Tuesdays sell two tacos and a pint of beer for $10. Outside of that, this is an average place. The food isn't noteworthy and the chips come with almost tasteless salsa. The service is GREAT and you're bound to find a seat. I've been to Mission a couple of times as I have some friends who like it here. I'm not a fan of Mexican food so I don't believe I've ever eaten here, I've just had drinks. The upstairs bar can get wild from what I remember. When my group and I were here two weeks ago it wasn't overly busy. There was a large group of women at the end of the bar which appeared to be some kind of special event they were celebrating. The bar service wasn't great. The bartender seemed to be more interested in playing with her co-workers than serving her patrons. This isn't a place I ever seek out, I just go with people who like it. My friend and I came to Mission after an event we attended didn't provide decent food or drinks. Mission was closest to where we were and we didn't have a reservation. It was a weekend so we knew we were going to wait regardless which was fine. The host was very nice and attending and didn't show any type of distress when many people were going up to him constantly. We were lucky to get bench seating since there really wasn't any other places to sit for our 1hr wait. Once we were called, the host instructed us to go upstairs to the 2nd host stand only to be sent back downstairs to the bar area. It was a little confusing but we were sat at nice large table even though it was just the two of us. Our server greeted us and brought us some water a little afterwards and the table provided QR codes for us to scan and look at the menu. We both decided on the pineapple jalapeño margarita and the chicken quesadilla. We got our food and drinks not too long afterwards and we were especially happy about that! The margarita was really good and we practically devoured the quesadillas within a couple of minutes! We were both very hungry so our orders really did hit the spot :) The bar area during our visit was pretty quiet in comparison to when we first got there; they had a huge group of people filling all the tables and they were really loud. I was happy that we were able to enjoy our food and drinks without the sound of yelling from drunk dudes. I'm to say that our first visit here was good! I'm glad that after an upsetting start of the evening turned into a nice one after all. My only complaint during our visit at Mission was that our server was barely around when we needed her. Once we got our food and drinks, she never returned and I had to ask for the host to find her because we needed more water. Maybe because they were short staff or she was having a tough night, I'm not sure. The food and drinks came out fast so I can't complain too much. Since this place is right next to the Nationals stadium, I definitely recommend Mission for those who are looking for good cocktails and food outside of the ballpark. read more

I will start by saying that I am a Mission FAN. I have loved the Mission in DuPont circle, so when my coworker told me that they were opening one in Navy Yard, I was excited. It's aesthetically pleasing, with two floors and ample room. The ceilings are high and the upstairs bar area is one of the biggest I've ever seen. Mission Margarita is ALWAYS a win. Thank me later! Happy hour is popular and has really awesome prices. I took away one star because I've come here twice and tried to order shrimp as my protein choice for my quesadilla. The first time, the manager informed server it would cost $15. The second time, they told me they could not do it. I find that odd given the Mission in DuPont has always let me have that. Two levels with an average sized bar downstairs and two huge bars upstairs on the second floor. There's also a huge patio on the second floor overlooking the ballpark. Margaritas are on tap and super strong. Strawberry basil margarita is very sweet and not so heavy on the alcohol. Nachos are okay, quite filling but an extra $4 for protein is absurd. The quesadillas are good too but protein is an additional $4 for that as well. Happy hour is seven days a week from 4 to 7 and also 10 to close Thurs thru Sun. Service is not great at all. This was our first time going to Mission, as we have had heard mixed reviews. The noise level of the music was really loud, almost that of a night club when you first walked in. If the music was lower, it would've been a better experience. The drinks were not bad at all. I will say the ranch water was a little strong, had to cut it down with a few limes. My sister ask for a corona with a lime, the waitress (Julia) told her it came in a can, but she still wanted a glass with a lime. The food was really good. I highly impressed with each thing that everyone got. Definitely looking forward to trying other items on our next visit. I would like to address the lack of attention and enthusiasm our waitress Julia had to offer. There was a table next to us and she had to at least come by their table five times and could careless that we were done. I had to get up and ask her for the check, to which she was on her phone and seemed bothered that I asked for the check. Julia asked if I wanted it individually separated. There is a picture that is attached, you can see that she has a mask below her nose. This is highly alarming, as she is handling peoples food and drinks. We immediately left (with a sour taste in our mouths) and went to the bar section. We sat and the table was... sticky. And that's an understatement. My friend went and had the host come and wipe down the table. As we were sitting in the bar area, we had to go to the bar to order food. My friend went to place our drink orders, and was met by a very rude male bartender. She brought one drink to the table, while waiting for the other two. When she returned to the bar, she was then met with a very rude female bartender. When she came back to the table, she decided that she was not going up to order food and someone else in our group would need to, as she was fed up. We ordered the food (which was actually very tasty, so that was a plus), but it did not arrive at the same time. We asked for water for the able, never received it. We asked for napkins (none came with the food), and we received four.
