Came here on a suggestion of a friend who was introducing me to the area. We came during their happy hour about a week ago, so it wasn't too crowded which was nice. Our server was very friendly and kept checking in on us. We opted to start with their tortilla chips and salsa dip which was very good. I ordered carnitas tacos and buffalo shrimp taco. I especially liked the buffalo shrimp taco, and ordered another one to eat. The shrimp was just cooked well and the additional toppings really enhanced the flavor. I really like this place went early on a game day for brunch and had an amazing experience. Big fan of Mission. My friends and I frequent the DuPont location. We were heading to a day party at the bullpen so brunch was a must and were pleased to see that the Navy yard location was right around the corner. Front door and host staff were helpful and welcoming. Our waitress Molly was a rockstar juggling our 6 party table with many others on a busy Saturday afternoon. She was attentive, friendly and went above and beyond during our stay. We're a pretty picky/request heavy group and she didn't balk at all. Opted for bottomless and got pitchers of mimosas/margaritas. Food we ordered chips and salsa plus the chicken roll ups to start. Entrees included the tinga brunch bowl, cheeseburger slider duo, and breakfast burrito. Everything was pretty good and dare I say tastier than the DuPont location. May have to make this our primary location as it's a lot larger with two stories of seating and tons of outdoor/balcony tables. Heads up though be aware of the sports airing schedules. Five stars for the guacamole by itself! Best guacamole I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned, flavorful, and a generous portion for the price. The fish tacos were fantastic. The outer shell got a little mushy from being steamed in the aluminum foil, but it didn't take away from the flavor at all. Absolutely fantastic. The steak tacos were also very good... Not as good as the fish tacos though :) The shrimp quesadillas were interesting... In a good way. The shrimp was diced instead of whole and the quesadillas were a little bit spicy, but not prohibitively. Definitely a unique take on quesadillas, but absolutely delicious! You get two tacos and a margarita for 15.99 I added an extra shot in mine and 2 guest the price came up To around $50 for 3 shots. Mission has another location out in Dupont Circle, and this bar and restaurant is located literally across from the Nats stadium. A group of us came here for HH, and I had a chance to try: +Nachos Volcan - yellow corn chips topped with queso fundido, guacamole, pico de gallo, pinto beans, sliced fresh jalapenos, and sour cream; the toppings were spread well, in which each chip had something on it - I appreciated that! It's sad when you see a naked chip - HA! +a Fried Rockfish Taco - topped with citrus coleslaw, radishes, and macha aioli, opting out of cilantro; the fish was perfectly fried and didn't have a thick batter to it; I liked the aioli drizzle on top, which was a perfect complement; I wished the citrus coleslaw was more seasoned +a Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita - wasn't really a fan of this drink, as it was way too sweet; there was no spiciness in it from the jalapenos, either Our first server was so sweet and welcoming, and she checked in on our group often! Apparently, this place has brunch and Happy Hour everyday from 4-6pm We ordered a pitcher of Margarita which was $26 and the Nachos with steak. Margarita was really sugary. Strong, but gave me a headache. I just mixed it with water :) The pitcher came to about 4 / 5 cups. Nachos were large to share. My cousin and I had made plans for an early brunch but of course, things did not pan out the way we wanted. By 1pm we were on the phone looking for brunch places that would encompass everything: Good food, ambiance, availability, and most importantly, unlimited drinks! We finally found Mission and it did not disappoint. They were all booked up for brunch reservations but at the bars it's first come first serve and you can order brunch from there. The Navy Yard location is very large and bar area is fairly large as well. We didn't have any issues finding a spot for two. The brunch consists of bottomless margaritas, mimosas, and beer for $26! You must also order a brunch meal. I ordered the Quesadillas with chicken and they were delicious and very filling. My cousin had initially ordered the brunch bowl but she was not a fan so she switched to the quesadilla and was much happier with her choice. They play a wide range of music( pop, hip hop, alternative) and it does get pretty loud, especially on the 2nd floor which is the largest area of the restaurant and has more people. The first floor seemed a bit more chill. Since it is in Navy Yard just be aware that parking can be a hassle when the area is super busy and you will have to pay but it's worth it if you want good food and a good time! read more

Coming back to leave another review, this time regarding private events at this location. I planned and hosted a birthday party with 25 guests total. From start to finish, it was a fantastic experience! Dora was super patient and helpful in getting it set up for me (I kept changing dates because of sporting event conflicts!). Reserving the space was completely 100% free of charge!!!! My group had a really nice reserved area of the upstairs (back of main bar) with plenty of space and direct access to the bar. Everyone could order what they wanted and the service was very speedy. It was a nice day and we enjoyed fresh air coming in because they are able to open all of the windows on the side of the building! Mission provided me the opportunity to have an event exactly how I envisioned it and it was so special to get so many friends from my social group together to celebrate! Came here for a quick late lunch, place was not too busy so I sat at the bar. The bartender was super friendly and gave good suggestions. I went with his recommendation and got the Dinner Burrito... The burrito tasted pretty good and was very large. I would say typical prices for the area ($15 burrito + tax and tip), so a good value for the size of the meal. The chicken was very moist and tender. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a tex-mex place. Certainly not the most authentic style mexican food, but I do not think that is their goal. Visit on 12/18/22 - Came for a birthday brunch around 1:30pm. This place is deceptively huge with more than enough space and TVs to go around. We're in the throws of playoff entry for football so that was ideal! We ended up at the very back of the second floor and the area was perfect in terms of being out of the way. And while the place was hosting patrons specifically for the World Cup and football it wasn't so loud that you couldn't hear your neighbor and that can be a feat. Our waiter was Zach and he was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. There was also a table that was a bit loud after the World Cup and he worked diligently to get them checked out and gone so other patrons could enjoy without all the noise. They offer bottomless brunch but the whole table has to partake in order to enjoy. Because we all didn't arrive at the same time it was a hard call to make so we went a la carte. I started with some queso and a hibiscus margarita and ultimately landed on the duo of sliders with waffle fries. The queso had a great consistency but lacked seasoning. I ended up adding pickled onions to my dip and it elevated the taste in a way that I could control myself without altering the taste of the queso overall since we were sharing. Worth noting that the people at the table had no complaints over the queso so it's probably just me. The sliders were ridiculous, their size was perfect, they were juicy, the bread was light and the sauce they added was perfectly paired with the carmelized onions. If I go again I'll try some tacos but it'll be hard to walk away from these sliders again. Three of my friends had the Baja fish and buffalo shrimp tacos and said they were enjoyable. One friend had steak and eggs taco and he talked about it for the rest of the day so I know them things slapping. They have happy hour daily from 4-6pm so I'll def come back for the afternoon Sunday games or recommend this spot for anyone looking for a quick bite without having to go deep into the city. There is a garage directly across from mission and decent street parking. I can't speak for the weekend it terms of cost but parking is free on Sunday. read more

The sauce that was on top paired with the veggies and fried fish were delicious. The chicken tinga taco was good as well. The nachos were delicious and had a great queso on top. If you want a jam-packed bar with basic, radio music and remixes that make your ears bleed, then I guess this place is for you? Also the food... cold and flavorless. Silver Diner right next door has much better food. My friends and I were leaving 15 minutes before closing. We were physically pushed by security twice, and my friend had his drink knocked out of his hand by security. The security guard physically hit him, and the guard threatened to 'take him outside' in front of managers. The drinks were watered-down and expensive. Gatsby next door is much better for drinks. Also, there are SO many happy hours in the immediate area that are better and cheaper. Don't waste your time with Mission. read more

Who doesn't love tacos? This location is pretty popular. There was a wait to get in and the line was thick that night. Luckily my friends and I called ahead and were seated immediately. The decor at this location is beautiful. We all ordered several different items but I am a fan of their pork tacos. We also got a few rounds of tequila shots to finish it off. Our waiter was nice and prompt with our orders along with the entire section he was managing which was big. As for social distancing this place really didn't have a lot space on between tables. It wasn't uncomfortable for me but if you're looking for spaced out seating they aren't really doing that here. At least not the evening I went on the top floor. This place is most definitely for your night out with friends for drinks vs. sitting down to eat. We had reservations for 1630, were on time and seated at that time. We were given menus and a waitress walked by to give us a water pitcher. There was a group of waitresses that were on their phones and passed by multiple times. I made eye contact each time and smiled, but not one not served our table (and the tables directly around us were being tended to). Finally, I got up and asked for one and we were finally served. Outside of the service, the appetizers were delicious and same with the entrees! If you get the food to go, you would not be disappointed. If you go out with friends, you won't be disappointed!
