Car wash was fine, but I didn't realize until the next day that my floor mats were missing. My mats and interior are both black. I noticed when my foot slipped getting into my car. Called them when I noticed & was told someone would get back to me -no one was there from the car wash. I called back again the next day & then my husband got on the phone-same story. So my 11.99 car wash + $6.00 tip is now another $100 for four new floor mats. Needless to say make sure your mats are put back when you get your car washed! Lesson learned! I dropped my car off during my lunch hour, for a seat upholstery shampoo, ONLY, for 59.99. I was told the upholstery shampoo was not longer on the menu of choices and the only thing available is the upholstery and carpet option for 129.00. I completed my lunch and returned to my desk and called Shell MV to confirmed the information given to me at the car wash and was told that the Upholstery shampoo for 59.99 is still available. Five minutes later I received a call informing me that the car detailing is done, additionally, I was the one requesting the the 129.00 car detailing (upholstery and carpet). Therefore, it seems that I am one of the those hi-strung females that cannot remember or know what she wants so, he cannot help me because I imagined the whole conversation. I do not like to write bad reviews but I have to let everyone know that I had been going to this car wash for YEARS and everything seemed perfect. The last time I went to mission valley shell car wash the CD for my navigation system was stollen. I did not even know this part existed until it was gone. I went in to get the car washed and everything was fine and left with this expensive part missing. I spoke with John the "Owner" and he said "my guys don't steel, and you are responsible for taking your valuables with you" . John was not agreeable to help me find the part or replace it. I splurged and got the 100% hand wash deluxe on my 4Runner since I hadn't gotten it washed in a while and it needed it! Knowing this, I was ok with it taking almost an hour to be done because it looked like they were being extremely thorough. Toward the end I happened to see the man pick something up off the ground and place it on top of my rear window wiper and then move on to wiping another window. When my car was done I went to see what it was they forgot and realized it was my rear wiper blade just sitting on the back window. They man saw me and said "oh yeah thanks for pointing that out, I forgot" and stood there waiting for my receipt/tip. I attempted to put it back on myself as he watched and couldn't get it to work- I had to ask him to try, as this had never happened before and I didn't know how it worked. He couldn't figure out how to get it back on as well. I asked if he knew if anyone else there could figure it out. He tried himself again to get it back on but failed. I took the wiper, drove around to the other side of the station (where there is a mechanic on duty) and asked him to help me, which he kindly did and successfully got it back on for me. That experience was frustrating enough and worth the one star review but my car was also not cleaned very well at all! I had to scrape off a black spot from my window and my inside consoles still had crumbs. I wasn't expecting perfection from a gas station car wash but for $36.99 I expected a clean car and no damage. read more

My car was really dirty, and I could hardly see out my front and back windows. These guys helped a lot! Unfortunately, my car wasn't completely clean when I got it back. It's white, and as I was approaching my car, I was able to easily see a bunch of spots that should've been scrubbed off. I wiped them off myself when I got home. I came in for a car wash this morning and ended up asking for a refund because I waited over 40 minutes and my car didn't even get washed. I saw another customers car being dried who got to the car wash after me. When asking for a refund the car wash person stated that I didn't leave me keys in the car so that's why they couldn't wash my car. First off my car is a push start and was left on. Second I watched the same guy move my car 3 different times. So why was it that you couldn't move my car to have it washed? Instead it was just moved to the back wall and parked there. No one bothered to ask for my key or anything. If I didn't ask I would of probably wait there 2 hours. It's ridiculous. I get my car washed regularly here for the $13.99 price but will just go to body beautiful for $14.99. Great all around service. When it comes to my car and it's health, this place is great. John Brian, Armando and team are professional, knowledgeable, patient, honest and reliable. I have continued to have all of my family's cars serviced there for oil changes, inspections, mechanical problems, etc. since they take pride in repeat customers and are familiar with you and your cars. As an added bonus, the cars get a car wash with each oil change. I took my car here last month for a car wash... Do not come here!!!! The manager/owner John Rulon is careless and negligent with customers cars and takes no responsibility for his attendants who damage your car!!! The attendant upon returning my car to me broke my key and handed it back to me in pieces.. I asked what happened and they said my key broke when he went to put it into the ignition.. My key was not broken or cracked. I have been using the key for 6 years and the key was not cracked in any way.. too much force or tried to turn on the car without unlocking the steering wheel, regardless I had to buy a new key for 300.00 bucks and John will not pay a dime toward the damage.. He said "accidents happen and that's it, I m not responsible and I would not be in business for 38 years if I was." I will never go back... You are taking a huge risk coming here, just today he mentioned his vacuums caught car carpet on fire and then offered to wax my new car for free!!!! My bad. Actually thought this was a car wash. Drive up lanes: check. Car wash is actually 4-5 day laborers working behind the station using Lord knows what for soap and brushes. Same day laborers drying car: check. Using same towels to dry your car, wipe their face, dry the tires and then finish drying your windows: check. Windows all filmed up now and soap drips galore. I wouldn't go back here. I drove from PHX to San Diego and you know how gross your car is after a drive like that...bugs on the bumper, etc. I did the mid level machine wash and then of course they towel dry it and do the wheels. It looked fine when I got in it and drove home. But once I got out and looked at the car, I realized 50% of all those bugs on my bumper were still there. And because they don't use pressurized air to dry the cars, I had streaks of water all over. I had to go get my own towel and dry it off so it wouldn't leave marks. I paid $15 for this experience and don't plan on doing it again. From where I come from in AZ, $15 will get you a deluxe car wash in a plush building and a spotless outcome. I recently just went in to get some repair done. I kept seeing my passenger side's mat wet and I didn't understand y that was happening. I took my corolla in n I spoke to Brian, and he said he would check it out. It turns out that when my AC is on, it filters out water from some place. Idk what he exactly explained but he said it was clogged up n that's y it was overflowing n leaking inside of the car. The best part was he didn't charge me at all, given that he said he just took the cover off n let it drain out. The hell I know about cars??? Plus, I needed an oil change n it was awesome I was in n out within an hour and a half. Usually I have to leave my car for the whole day n get a ride from someone to pick me up at other repair shops. I highly recommend going to see Brian for any repairs!! read more

I'm guessing most of these one star reviews are because it takes a really long time but honestly if you want a really thorough and clean car back it takes time! I went on a run while they cleaned my car and it only realistically took like 45 minutes but it was completely worth it for the price. I took my car down to the mall and paid double and they missed so much AND it took them 2 hours to clean it. There were some very minor minor things they missed that I only noticed because I knew they were there but I am definitely going back there! They're pretty friendly and my car looks amazing! Highly recommend as long as you don't mind waiting for 45 minutes. read more

I was trying to review the Shell station itself, still waiting for the car wash so no idea how that part is. I am left feeling upset that even though you're supposed to get 20 cents off per gallon for trying the car wash, there's no sign that I can see that says to go inside first. My fault for not checking but I pumped my gas, then went inside to ask to get the car wash and the gas discount but the cashier says there is nothing he can do, he cannot credit my card the discount. I realize it is only $3 but this gas was pricey and the car wash was pricey. Could he at least discount the car wash by that amount? No, because he had done that before and gotten in trouble. Could he at least give me a free drink or something? No, because there's no manager onsite and he has no power - if he gave me anything, it will come out of his pay. How is there no manager here and no phone or email to contact one? Terribly annoying. Plus he KNOWS customers make the mistake of pumping gas first - this Shell gives me the feeling of a place trying to take advantage of you and does not care about the customer. I have had my car serviced many times at the Mission Valley Shell and never had any problems. They have always been very courteous, quick, and professional. Recently, I had my oil changed and they accidentally left the oil cap off. When I went back and told the owner, he was extremely helpful and apologetic. They immediately checked my car, refilled my oil, and washed my engine. They even gave me a car wash and cleaned my interior. I was extremely pleased with the way they handled the situation, and will continue to have my car serviced there in the future. read more

Went for their oil change w/free car wash - since I live one block away I was told to come back in an hour, gave them almost 2 hrs. and saw that my car was still dirty, spoke to the woman behind the counter and she said to speak with one of the car was attendants, did so, twice, afte waiting another 45 minutes I told the attendant I would come back tomorrow for the car wash (hadn't been washed in 2 weeks, with pelican droppings on the hood). One of the mechanics told me the car had been washed; when I showed him the dirt (and dust) still on the car he told me that I could hand wash it myself!!! My wife took her car to M. Valley Shell to be washed. A piece of metal equipment hit the back of the SUV causing a severe dent. The Asst. Mgr. said she should talk to the Owner who would be there the next day. I went to the station the next day to get the name of the Insurance Comp. who held the policy for the Shell Station. Upon entering the owner was standing at the counter. I explained who I was at what happened to my wife's car when bringing it to his carwash. I ask the name of his insurance company. He said, "I don't remember." I ask who would know the name of the insurance company. He said, "Call me tomorrow." I called the next day. He explained that the repair estimate was too much and that he could have it completed in Tijuana for much less. He ask to take our car to Tijuana and have it repaired. I contacted my insurance company who said they would contact the owner of the Shell Car Wash. I will never return and would advise everyone to find another service station. read more
