I went here last year on a date. I love the atmosphere. I got the hot bae chicken tenders and my man got a single dip burger and we shared a dirty dip waffle fry. He got a chocolate boozy shake and I got the banana when they had it. It was all super fresh, but I wish you could order combo meals because everything being a la carte gets expensive. I am so glad that Mister Dips finally opened their doors in Parker's Alley! From location to seating to food and dessert, Mister Dips checked all of my boxes. Located in the heart of downtown under the Shinola hotel, it's just a short walk from Campus Martius and sporting venues. That being said, that means city parking so be prepared to use the parking garage or put your parallel parking skills to the test if you're lucky enough to find a curbside spot. Now on to the good stuff- do not (I repeat DO NOT) skip the dirty fries. Typically, I'm not a fan of "cheese" fries that are covered in mysterious processed cheez goo from a bag. However, this combination of cheese, sauce, and spice tasted amazing and the cheese actually seemed to be real! The single dip burger was your standard reliable burger- no complaints here, and their special sauce was the perfect tang to balance the juicy patty. But for me, the cherry on top was their amazing ice cream. I was a bit hesitant to try their PB dipped cone as I'm a bigger chocolate fan than peanut butter fan, but the balance was pure perfection. I have to admit, I didn't come here for the burger... I pretty much figured what I'd be getting there. Only so many ways to make a burger. I saw the shakes and wanted to try since I can always use another place to have a good shake! But I tried the BBQ Bacon Dip burger, Crispy Waffle Fries, and choco-pudding pop dipsy doozy (a "thick-azzzzz shake" and a long azzz name). Everything was pretty good, but it turned out that the BBQ Bacon burger was the best thing I had. The slaw on there hit just right. Shake was good but not good enough to deal with finding a parking space downtown to get it. Cost was on par with any specialty burger joint ($16-$18 a person). Mister dips is my new go to place. My first experience started by walking in a greeted by a kind worker and they helped me choose my food. I haven't tried their burger yet because their grill wasn't working, but they looked delicious. I got the loaded fry's and they were the most mouth watering experience. And the buffalo chicken wasn't too spicy but wasn't too plain it was so flavor full and cooking perfectly crispy. Along with the food my red velvet cone with extra ores is always going to be apart of my meal. Service was so kind and we even got our milkshake delivered to our table!!! First of all, I LOVED the takeout bags they gave us. As far as the food goes, I definitely liked the chicken tenders more than the burger, but the burgers were good. The fries could have been crispier but they might be in person. For the sauces we got bbq and hot honey. The hot honey just tasted like regular honey but still so good on the tenders. I came in with my friends and I ordered the regular burger and fries with queso. I also ordered an ice cream with maple and I believe pecans. My friends ordered something similar to this, except one of them got the vegan burger. The beef burger was okay. I just wasn't a fan of the sauce and my friend wasn't either. It was pretty sour and overpowered the whole burger taste. The fries were good, but messy so definitely use a fork. The ice cream was really good and I was pleasantly surprised with my flavor. My friend thought that the vegan burger tasted better than the regular burger, probably because the sauce is different. Staff was friendly, but it sucked that I couldn't just buy a water, but instead would have to get back in line and wait another 20 min to order. I would probably return and get the vegan burger or just return for ice cream. I'm in no rush to come back though. Definitely overpriced. We ordered at the same time but all 3 of us got our food at separate times. My friend got his food after like 5-10 minutes of ordering, my boyfriend and I waited 35-40 minutes for our food. My food was hot and decent, my boyfriend's food was decent but not hot, he said one chicken tender was.cold and his fries were room temperature. I was gonna get a shake to go but didn't wanna have to wait another half hour or more and also didn't want to pay almost $8 for the same size shake I can get at McDonald's or literally anywhere else for less than half of that. Other than that, the atmosphere was nice, lots of bright colors and cool signs, I like the little dancing ice cream cones lmao but personally I don't think it's worth all the hype it's getting. Checked out Mister Dips after the Pistons game. The inside is really nice, the parking is terrible though luckily I found a spot that wasn't too far. The food is a bit pricey, but it looked good. I got the single dip and loaded waffle fries with a peanut butter ice cream cone. They gave me my cone separately, and it was messy. When I bit into the cone, I thought it was going to be vanilla ice cream, and it wasn't. I guess I assumed that, and you know what happens when you assume things. It was a chocolate dipped cone cone with chocolate ice cream under it with peanut butter drizzle. I am not a fan of chocolate ice cream at all, so it pretty much got wasted. But I won't hold that against them since it was my mistake, but I will rate it; it just doesn't impact my overall 3-star score. The atmosphere was cool, a great place to take a kid. The customer service wasn't bad either. The burger was just meh at best. I've had way better burgers, and I was stoked about the loaded waffle fries, but they let me down. When I dip, you dip, we dip...dipped delicious ice cream, that is, at Mister Dips. Mister Dips is such an adorable spot with super delicious ice cream, burgers, and shakes. They're located in the same alley as The Brakeman behind the Shinola Hotel. The alley itself is really cute with lots of hanging lights and lots of new businesses. We actually discovered Mister Dips as we were enjoying a beer on the Brakeman's outdoor patio after exploring Art Walk Detroit nearby. All of these people kept walking by The Brakeman holding these delicious looking heaping mint ice cream cones and we asked where they got them. When we asked, the guy said, "Oh you need to go! It's sooo good!" So of course we had to check it out. We didn't realize it was a restaurant too with burgers and fries and almost passed it and as we were discussing whether or not this was the ice cream place, a passerbyer heard us and said, "Ohhh this is the ice cream place! It's sooo good! You gotta try it!" So now we were really intrigued and I have to say the ice cream definitely lived up to the hype. The spot itself was really cute with a 50s nostalgic diner vibe with black and white checkered floor and fluorescent cartoon ice cream character flashing signs. The music playing was fun 80s rock faves and they had fun graphics changing on their TV monitor grid as we walked in. The menu is small and simplistic with five flavored dipped ice cream cones, four shakes (two boozy), four burgers, chicken fingers, and waffle fries. It's a fast casual restaurant so you order your food at the register and then wait for your food when your name is called. All of the ice cream flavors sounded amazing! I got the S'morning Glory, which was vanilla swirl ice cream, dipped in chocolate, and drizzled with fudge and dusted in graham cracker and topped with a warm gooey campfire marshmallow. Yum! Gimme gimme s'more! It was so tasty but get some napkins because this bad boy is messy! Perfect food on a date ladies ;) lol. My date got the Skinny Dip which was chocolate and marshmallow flavored ice cream swirled and the ice cream even had candy googly eyes. The googly eyes of Mister Dip are everywhere here: on the walls, the hats of the associates working, and printed on the tables. Another ice cream flavor that looked really delicious that I almost ordered was the Chocolate P.B.D. which was dark cocoa ice cream in a salted peanut butter dip and drizzled with fudge. The Buttermint Crunch which was thin-mint custard, drizzled in chocolate and topped with grasshopper cookies looked super delicious. If you're a fan of Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies then this would be the ice cream for you!! The boozy shakes look delicious too and I may have to try one of those next time. The boozy shakes came in flavors of Slippery Banana with toffee pudding banana custard, rum, and whipped cream, and Java Buzzed, which was a sea salted vanilla custard with Bailey's and caramel cold brew. We had just ate but I saw people ordering food and it looked great too. The burgers came as single, double, and a BBQ bacon burger and they also offer an Impossible burger. They have chicken fingers drizzled in chili honey and Chesapeake spice which they call Hot Bae, and chicken in a blazing' Buffalo sauce. The fully loaded waffle fries also sound amazing! I'm sure there is street parking nearby but we parked at the Fox garage for $5 since that was close to Art Walk and walked down about 9 minutes. Really cute spot! As someone who avoids, my options were a little limited but when a friend wanted to come in to try it out, I couldn't not try it! I opted for the bacon bbq burger without cheese and the waffle fries and was extremely impressed. The burger was a traditional fast food size but perfectly flavored. It had enough sauce for flavor and moisture but wasn't dripping and the red cabbage slaw was super flavorful. The fries were the perfect level of crispy while still having a solid potato center (which is tough to do in a waffle fry without getting soggy). They tasted like an Arby's curly fry and a chick fil a waffle fry had a baby, but even better. The entry way was a little crowded with a line but it's worth the wait!
