I was very excited to try Mister Dips. And I think because of the hype I gave it, I was a little disappointed. Everything was good, not great. I'm so happy I saw this place on TikTok. It was a little hard to find at first because it's in an alley way, but it was a nice surprise when I found it. The staff were really nice when I walked in and the inside was really cool. I got a impossible dip because I don't eat beef and I couldn't even tell it was plant based, which I liked. Great addition to the Detroit lunch options. Think shake shack but on a smaller scale and better fries...but in my opinion let's not compare as they have proven themselves worthy and stand alone being they are not a large chain! The seasoned waffle fries are a great addition and better substitute for the crinkle cut. The burger is almost identical but had a better crisp to the smash burger concept. The veggies were also super fresh and crisp. Although the burger was outstanding I wasn't In love with their sauce on the burger but by no means was it bad. Lastly, I can't say enough how friendly the Mr Dip team was. Even short staffed they were beyond friendly and accommodating. I have to give it to the Shinola group run by NoHo every spot they have in the Shinola district has the friendliest and knowledgeable team members. Stopped into Mr Dipps a few nights ago with some friends. Location is great. Right in the alley behind the Shinola hotel. The staff is super engaging and friendly. The menu is simple- burgers, fries, shakes , chicken tenders .. comfort food. There are even boozy milkshakes! I had the loaded fries and they were delicious. Crispy waffle fries with queso, bacon, scallions, yum. I didn't love my burger. It was ok but it wasn't really seasoned. I think they rely on the sauce but since I hate mayo I didn't get the sauce. The milkshakes are thick and tasty and truly enough for 2. They do need to get some ice. They offer complimentary water but it's room temp and they literally have no ice in the restaurant. read more

I came to Mister Dips thinking it was going to be a restaurant you went to for the atmosphere but the food was absolutely amazing. I got the Impossible Dip, Dirty Dipped Waffles, and the Berry Gibs and it was all so amazing, everything had so much flavor. They had the Lions game playing in the kitchen and were interacting with the customers about the game, it was such a friendly atmosphere. If you want food, don't come here because the portions are tiny. About the same size as a $1 burger from McDonald's. Don't get me wrong it was good, but it felt like a slider. Located in some sort of hipster alley, this burger joint is a cross between In-n-Out and Cold Stone Creamery. Menu is simple and minimalist. I ordered the Double Dip, Dirty Dip Fries and a diet soda. Burger was smash-style and had a nice off-the-grill, homey flavor. Toppings were fresh, the "special" sauce was yummy and the bun was perfect. Waffle fries were smaller than the usual, which I liked. Came here twice for takeout and was impressed both times. Their burgers are smash burger style -- patties that are smashed on the griddle to make them thin, giving the edges a nice crispy texture. Burgers are melt-in-your-mouth quality and the combination of beef cuts in their patties make for a perfectly textured burger. This would have only been my 2nd time eating here and the price have dramatically went up but I still placed my order which came out to a little over $21 for a burger and truffle fries that were being delivered. I didn't add tip because I like to tip in cash. HOWEVER, I never received that $21 order. Although I ordered on their site, my delivery was coming from Doordash. When my order did not show up during my lunch time (I made an order at about 12 for delivery at 3:45) I called the restaurant about 8 times after my food still had not arrived at 4:10. No answer. Not one of the 8 times. I ended up calling Doordash who told me because Mister Dips took my money I would need to get my refund from them. Still no answer no reply no anything from them. And although I do like their food, I don't think I would go back to them again because of this, because now i know that if I have an issue with their product, there is no way to reach them.
