We have used Mr Sparky for years !! Wonderful Company !! All the work they have done for us there has never been an issue .

I am not a fan of "the up-sell." When I order a burger, I'm pretty sure I've thought through that I don't want a drink and fries with that. When I shop at the mall, I don't want you pestering me from your booths in the middle of the walk-way. If I wanted your merchandise, I'd approach you. Same impression with Mister Sparky. Yep, he fixed my issue (quite an easy one). Yep, I thought it was a bit pricey. But my real issue was that he spent a good amount of my time looking for other things to fix and provide bids on. That irked me. And what irked me more, was about a week later, we noticed a giant Mister Sparky sticker on our electrical outlet in our garage. WTH?!! ASK if you can advertise in my house and ASK if you can slap a sticker in my garage. It's MY garage. So yes, he fixed the problem. But I was turned off by him trying to sell me more services and quite peeved by the sticker slapped on my wall. You didn't ask. Period. read more

Phil, a contractor who owns a Mister Sparky franchise did an impeccable job rewiring my new washer and dryer, the circuit, and the breaker at the panel. After watching several videos online I had almost convinced myself that with a quick trip to the hardware store I could perform the needed operation. .... almost. Thank God I didn't or it could have ended up as a home repair man comedy skit. Phil showed up in his clean red van and was on the job. Not only did he do the job I had pegged as a breeze, he walked me through it and I knew right then it was nothing I could have done in an afternoon. He also alerted me to several inadequacies in our home inspection and wiring. Everything he said made sense and wasn't s sales tactic by any means. He simply pointed out things that could benefit from being changed and never attempted to up sell me on any thing. Not only that but after talking with him he waived some of the charges he could have rightly added to our bill! This was a first rate experience, and if I ever need an electrician or a ghostbuster I know who I'm gonna call. read more

When shopping for an electrician, I had no idea where to begin, Craigslist, Home Advisor, Angie's List? So I used them all! Many businesses didn't bother to reply, some were scheduled out too far, some seemed sketchy. When I explained to Nicole what I needed, she was able to have the estimator come see us within a day or two. I filled out the appointment request on the Mister Sparky website including all my contact and location information and was delighted hen they called me the next morning and scheduled an appointment with an arrival time between 10 am and 1 pm. When nobody had shown up by 2pm I called to check and was told "oh, I was meaning to call you. You aren't in our service area." Seriously? She had made the appointment with me, which included my address, and then not had time to let me know that the appointment was cancelled? I had waited at home for hours. Customer service obviously means nothing to this business. read more

I'm a very reasonable person so I hope you read this and make a careful decision when hiring an electrician. I am all for small businesses, I read the reviews on Mister Sparky and decided that I would give them a chance to bid/earn my project. I called and talked with Phil on a Monday, Phil informed me there was an opening the following day at noon on 9/27/16. I asked Phil how long it was going to take as I had an appointment that I needed to leave my house by 145pm, he told me no more than 30 minutes. Appointment day shows up and at 145, no call and no show. I call Phil and ask him if someone was coming by today per our conversation yesterday and he replies "I don't think so, let me check my calendar." Really? We talk the day before and you can't remember making the appointment? Phil made another appointment for the following day and again no show and no call until 3 hours after the appointment when someone called to ask me if I was still interested in a bid. I informed that person that someone has failed to show for 2 straight days, she apologized and made another appointment for 9/30/16 at 1130am. I'm out running errands and at 1105 my neighbor texts me to say Mister Sparky was at my house and left, ok so you show up early and then bail before are appointment time..... if you're playing baseball this is 0-3. I get it mistakes happen, but I still wanted to give this guy a chance so we set another appointment for 11/6/16 at 11am. About 930 am on 11/6, Phil calls to say his guy called in sick for work and they were not going to make it. Now this one I can understand, at least he called and didn't leave me stranded again. Phil then asked me if 11/7 would work and I agreed informing him I needed to leave for work by 245pm. Phil said someone would be at my house at 11am.....well it's 154pm and again no show and no call. You tell me am I being unreasonable? This the single most lack of professionalism I've ever experienced and I discourage you from giving this company a chance to earn your money. *****UPDATE******** On 11/11/16, I get a knock at the door and standing there are two employees of Mr. Sparky. They looked at me and obviously they could see the confusion on my face and told me they were here for their appointment. I explained everything to them and they were apologetic and said "We'll make it up to you." They performed their bid and told me "We'll give you 10% off the bid," I was excited to see the numbers. Well.............. I had four bids total, $4100, $7200 and $7400, so needless to say this one was going to top them all. I looked at bid and survey says...........$9200! I advised the reps I'd look at it and let them know, I didn't and needless to say this made it even easier to go with another company. read more

We called up Mister Sparky to install an outlet in the garage for our new dryer. I was anxious to get the job done before laundry started to pile up. Phil returned my initial call within a few hours, and agreed to come out the very next morning (on a weekend!!). He installed the dryer outlet promptly, and we decided to have him fix a few switches and outlets while he was in town. The outlet job turned out to be somewhat of a nightmare, that required multiple trips - and multiple holes in our walls. I'm deducting one star because he told us he would have to drill one hole in the ceiling - and ended up drilling three... without notifying us first. He was also a little unorganized about our scheduled appointment times and had to call us to verify and/or reschedule appointment times more than once. BUT, in the end, all jobs were completed, all holes were patched AND textured, and the price (especially considering the number of visits required) was VERY reasonable. Phil was polite throughout the process, and obtained all necessary permits. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again and/or recommend him to a friend. He does good, quality work, and he won't rip you off. read more

I called Phil on a Saturday morning to have a dryer power cord changed. He called me back promptly and was able to schedule exactly when I wanted him to come (the following Monday morning). He arrived on time, was polite, neat, and got the job done promptly. He did not try to "up-sell" me or recommend any other services. The only reason I didn't give five stars was that the price he showed me was then added on to the price of the service call (I thought it was included). Mr. Sparky does a lot of emergency service and service work. At my house we had a very hard issue to find it was a short inside a wall, plug or switch. It turned out not only was this wire from the panel box to a downstairs bed room 15 feet from the panel but the service also went upstairs to feed the power to our living room and dinning room. Why ? Who knows the house if 40 years old. It was installed this way. The electrician looked for the problem and we never could find it but the electrician found a alternate way to resolve the problem. I would say out of all home issues this one was one of the hardest to have and figure out. Mr. Sparky electrician and mangers did a wonderful job taking care our house and we thank them very much and would recommend them to anyone. Many people complain but are they upset at the company or upset because they had to pay for an unexpected repair that are not always inexpensive. We will use Mr. Sparky again. read more

A recent article in the Regal Courier interviewed Phil Tussig of Mr. Sparky,who warned of the dangers inherent in Federal Pacific Electrical panels. I did a search on the Internet and was convinced to have my FPE panel replaced because of the risk (high) of fire. I had Phil do the work, which he did in a highly professional manner. I would recommend him and Mr. Sparky for any electrical job that needs to be done. Anyone considering buying a home would do well to check the electrical panel. If FPE, a condition of the sale should be having the panel replaced. read more

We had a problem where half of the electricity went out in our house and it seemed to be connected to our wall heater. We called Mister Sparky and Phil was able to be at our house within an hour. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem and had it fixed within 45 minutes of his arrival! He was professional, respectful of our home, and kind to us and our dog throughout his visit. We enjoyed our experience with Phil and would use Mister Sparky again for any electrical emergencies or electrical work we needed done. We highly recommend Mister Sparky! read more

Called and spoke to the owner Phil to set an appointment to get a bid on adding wiring from our panel to the back yard for a hot tub installation. We set an appointment for the following week to meet at our home so he could inspect the job and give us a quote. I made arrangements to leave the office the day of our appointment leaving plenty of time just in case he showed up early. 20 minutes after our agreed upon appointment time had passed I decided to give Phil a call just to see if he was running late. I had already been away from the office longer than I had anticipated. Phil answered the phone and I asked him when he thought he would be here for our appointment. Phil's answer "I'm not going to make it". I asked if he had considered giving me a phone call so that I would not have driven all the way home from work. Phil's answer "uh..um..well..you know, actually as I look at my work schedule I'm not really interested in bidding on your job". Seriously!!! Who does that!! This is the worst example of customer service I have run into in a very long time. What kind of selfish business owner can have such little regard for someone's time. read more

We purchased a new set of appliances and our dishwashers wiring ended up being a code violation, and looking at the sketchy daisy chain with loose tape I could see why. Behind the stove there was an old set of wires from when it was electric too...not a good thing to have open unsecured wires resting on our gas line. I call 5 places and all - all - were too busy, didnt call me back, or some combination of that. Having electric work done before that isnt a knock on the others, but given the situation it was hard to swallow. I was going to wait weeks as I expected. So I said "you know, yelp reviews dont always represent your situation" and I called. These guys answered, came out the next day less than 24 hours later, on a Friday afternoon. Phil is classic Oregon blue collar and the younger guy who works with him was on point. It wasnt a situation to collect quotes so I cant offer you assurance it was the cheapest (pricing was very straight forward though), but it was seamless and honest and I got exactly what I needed. Exactly. I was joking with him that his day was done, and within 5 minutes he received a call from Oregon City because a heater had stopped. His first response was to assure them he would not let them go without heat. He explained with rush hour he would need to wait, gave them a few names he knew that could do it, and said to call him in a few hours if they didn't work out and he would do it. No rest for the weary. I know who I am calling the next time I need help with my electric anything. read more

phil, the owner is very, very expensive, he charged me $153 for knocking at my door and for doing very little work. never again.
