Blah blah blah different parts store. Blah blah blah more than 2 years (never mentioned any expiring time). Too bad, $250.00 to slap a cheap aftermarket muffler on my car. So much for integrity. His word is garbage (and this is just for a cheap muffler). Go somewhere else.

Definitely the most honest mechanic I've ever been to. I've lived all over the country and I've had…read morethe unfortunate opportunity to have to look for a new mechanic every couple of years. Before leaving Oregon to drive out here to Mass I had a complete checkup done on my truck, got a bunch of various work done, tires, etc. They told me I needed brakes, that they were at 10%, that it would cost $500, and grudgingly admitted I could probably wait until I was out there to get the work done. Well, I get out here and go to O'Brien's on the recommendation of friends who live here. He tells me the brakes are fine, no problems, that I could probably wait until I drive to the next place in the winter to do them (I was only here short-term). He charges me nothing for the inspection. I came back today because I'm about to drive halfway across the country again, figure it must be time for the brakes now. He could easily have done the work but instead, he tells me they're STILL fine and will probably be fine for a while, definitely until after I get out to the next place. Outrageously honest. It's been almost 9 months since the mechanic in Oregon tried to get me to do the brakes then. Almost a year! I might be driving back here in the summer and if so, I'm waiting to do any repairs until I get out here.

He was very apologetic for the misunderstanding about the quoted price and wanted to show his appreciation for our patronage. Maybe we'll give it one more shot. Here is my original review: "I have used Cichy's twice before for routine work like changing trailer tires, and my MIL used them for a muffler replacement. Both times, during the COVID pandemic. The service and cost was HORRENDOUS. In fact, it took them a month and constant prodding to get the tires done. So when my MIL needed a new gas filter I was hesitant to use Cichy's but figured I'd give him one more shot. I called ahead for an estimate, gave the car make model and year and part needed and got an approximate cost of $45-$50. My MIL was there for two hours because they didn't have the part after saying they'd order it ahead. And they charged her $108 for a 15 minute filter change. " Not sure who quoted that original price but in the end the owner gave my MIL a free repair, which was not requested, but was much appreciated.

I feel that I can just leave my car to John here without having to compare notes from several places. This is one of the few places that will honestly tell you that you don't need to fix something you think you needed instead of always trying to scare you into fixing things you don't actually need. At one time I brought my car in for ABS light and started by saying I might need to replace the ABS module. John didn't take advantage of this at all and completely fixed the issue by replacing two electrical cables. I only wish that they were located closer to me so that it's easier when I needed to come back a few times to debug problems. Nonetheless, I'd still spend the extra one hour round trip to drive here instead of going to the mechanics who are closer, including one that has a suspicious 5-star rating with 100+ reviews.

I worked in dealerships when I was a youngster, selling cars, then in the service department. I know the difference between an honest, well run dealership and a bad one. McAndrews are good guys.

I called McAndrews-King Buick GMC because they are 15 minutes up the road from me in Adams, MA instead of Colandrea because they are over 2 hours away to get my first service done and apparently, they don't honor that service system because "we don't make any money off of it". I ended up calling GMC directly and spoke with a customer assistance associate and both he and the team never heard of a GMC dealer not honoring the GMC certified pre-owned vehicle 2 free service visits well within the range of service visits. Nothing is expired or even close to expiring. Very odd. GMC directly ended up giving me a $100 voucher for any future service that is required after my 2 free service visits for this lunacy and are filing a report about it. I called Bedard's located in Cheshire, MA who isn't even a GMC dealer although they are a chevy dealer and they were more than happy to accept my 2 free service visits. I personally do not recommend McAndrews-King Buick GMC as they are not part of the "GMC family" in my opinion and appear to only be in it for the money. That sort of sets the tone if you're purchasing a vehicle from them.
