I was not only inconvenienced by having to coordinate the return of my card, but I later discovered the restaurant charged both my meal and the stranger's meal to my account. I have spent weeks trying to resolve this with management. Despite multiple calls and promises of a resolution, sending me a refund check that bounced, the manager continues to stall, making excuses and asking me for the other patron's contact information rather than fixing their mistake. Wow! I had an amazing experience here last night. From the food, to the family like service it's was so welcoming and wonderful. I came here by myself and sat at the bar, and was welcomed like family by Heather and chef Angela. The restaurant is a nice size and feels very approachable, whether you come for a casual meal or want a higher end experience it is comfortable. Heather helped me pick out a great entree and they did a substitution with the sauce for me. The house made meatballs at only $1 each to add to any entree are well worth it! I took extra home. Chef Angela came out to talk to me and we had a great conversation. This place reminded me of the small Italian places in the north where I'm from, where the chef greets the guests at the end of their meals and the bartenders and servers know their guests orders by heart. read more

Once again, my husband and I met our friends at Misto for he had another lovely delicious dinner. The experience was unbelievable from the minute. We walked in and Angela greeted us with a typical Italian greeting of a hug! The meals were all delicious. I had the snapper piccata, which was delicious. You had the bartender taking orders for the dining room and bar, which was discouraging, but he was doing the best he could. It took for ever to get our food and drinks. What a great experience we had tonight at Misto! We used to love Misto, but after it was sold everything went downhill. It's important to note that there is a NEW owner in town... With a new chef, soux Chef, and a different menu. SO glad we tried it tonight! We were fortunate to have Nick as our waiter tonight. He knew the menu well, and aptly described that only the menu but also the specials. We opted for some of their homemade ravioli, and their chicken Parmesan. I can honestly say this is some of the best Italian food we have found in southwest Florida. The chef not only made our meal to perfection, but he came out to ensure everything was done to our liking. The red sauce was absolutely perfect, with chunks of tomatoes and was incredibly flavorful. Very true Italian cuisine! After dinner, we were gluttons for punishment and looked at their dessert board. Though everything looked fabulous, we tried the limoncello cake. Found Misto while searching Yelp for somewhere we haven't tried in Cape Coral and all the reviews were excellent so we gave it a shot last evening. The owner greeted us and said they've been here for 12 years! We were seated right away, ambience is slightly upscale, but laid back too, it was nice. Service was excellent; she was attentive and knowledgeable. The bread and oil to begin was delicious; with a pesto in the oil. We all ordered something different for dinner; cajun Alfredo with chicken, sausage and shrimp; crispy chicken Alfredo, chicken Marsala with risotto, kids pizza and veal Angelica with risotto. Everything was amazing, very fresh and flavorful. Veal was cooked perfectly. The only thing we didn't care for was the chocolate raspberry cake; it was dry and no raspberry flavor at all. The peanut butter butterfinger pie was divine though. We will absolutely return. read more

After hearing a lot of great things about it, I decided to go eat there.. It was not good. Apparently there's new owners and the food reflects that the Alfredo was 100% Prego from a jar not homemade doesn't matter what they say. You can taste it. You can tell the spaghetti with marinara the marinara was clumpy and there was maybe just a less than a handful of the actual noodles and two meatballs.. I got no complaints about the service. The lighting could definitely use some help but the only thing that really matters is the food and well the food sucked.sorry. read more

Misto is deceiving from the road. It look likes a local bar from the outside but it is actually fine dining in a casual ambiance. We were warmly greeted by Dan at the door and promptly seated. Our server Geoff was fabulous. The food was unbelievable. We started with escargot with a delicious garlic butter and covered in melted cheese. Homemade complimentary bread in a vinaigrette spread. Follow that with a fresh Ceasar salad with homemade dressing. Filet mignon that melts in your mouth and candied brandy carrots. Should you save room decadent homemade desserts. Very good experience at Misto in Cape Coral, located in a small strip center off DelPrado. Our second trip here, went for the Prime Rib special. The restaurant is well appointed and comfortable, with a combination of tables and booths. Separate bar with large TVs as well. Tablecloths and lights make for an elevated experience. On our last visit we were told about the prime rib special, get there early because they can run out, we were told. We did, and weren't disappointed. Started with some calamari, was very good, crisp and juicy. Again, most of the party went for the special but one guest tried the chicken parm (big thumbs up). Wine list was nice and reasonable. Overall a solid experience, and we left feeling full and happy. Fyi, the menu is very diverse. Our service was attentive and our food came out hot! Regarding the prime rib, very healthy portion, served just as we ordered, med-rare. They take reservations, I recommend them especially on a Saturday night. read more

New management and chef, not sure for how long but I believe it was very recent. Everyone was very welcoming and they made it feel like you were very important to them and that you had a good experience and great food. T There were 5 of us and we tried many things on the menu. It was all fabulous. The highlight may have been the lasagna which is the best I have ever tasted. I had the grouper picatta which was perfectly prepared. Went to Misto's as part of a larger group. We started out with drinks; the ones on the specialty drink list were very good. The bread sticks were hot and very tasty. The stuffed mushrooms and French onion soup were also very good. Our entrées -- Ratatouille, Veal Angelica, Chicken Marsala and Veal Marsala were outstanding. We finished with a round of Limoncello. I didn't know you were closed Sunday so I went yesterday for my birthday dinner. When I got there both open signs were on and the door was unlocked so I went in. It was dark and smelled like gas to me. I yelled out a few times but no one answered. Not wanting to get in trouble for trespassing or robbery I went outside and called 911 after I tried calling the reservation number. I was afraid someone might have collapsed back in the kitchen. They sent 3 fire trucks and 2 law enforcement officers. I just hope everyone is ok and someone came to lock the door. I'll be back another day but not on Sunday or Monday. lol read more

Stacy is our server she is friendly and conscientious I enjoyed a perfect chocolate Martini my wife had Sangria, the seasoned Italian bread was delicious for appetizers my wife had Escargot but for a change I tried the Pork Wings!!! Glad I did! My meal of Crispy Chicken Alfredo was as pleasing to the Eye as it was to the palate. The chicken was delicious on top of a hearty Alfredo that wasn't overpowering or too watery Both our meals were of substantial size so they went home with us. This is our second review of Misto. We, again, came for an early lunch. Jeff (still a Renaissance man!) greeted us with his normal warmth and kindness. Atmosphere continues to be cozy and warm (great for an unusually cold January day). Both the gently-fried, fresh calamari, with lemon aioli and the chicken fettuccine Alfredo were outstanding. (Did not love the "pork wings" appetizer ... but you can't always "get what you want" as the song says). Highly recommended for family dinners and gatherings, or just a warm meal for two. I am so sad to hear of new ownership coming, as Misto is phenomenal. They aren't sure what the new name or concept will be. Misto is SO SO GOOD. I can't say anything bad about it. One FYI: they charge 3.98% to run your card (it doesn't really break the bank). If you use cash, you get 5% off the bill. Who knows if this will be in effect with new owners. I have never tasted bread like this before. It is a super soft roll with garlic and butter, and it's served with olive tapenade and mashed garlic on the side. Fantastic. At the table we had the Veal Misto, tomato basil pasta with meatballs, and chicken cordon bleu (special of the night). Everything was delish! The desserts are made fresh in-house. At the table we got the coconut cream pie and turtle cheesecake. Like everything else at the table, it was all phenomenal! I highly recommend you come in and try Misto while it's still Misto! The food was fresh made, the sauces flavorful and well paired. The pasta was done properly. Soups and salads were a great start, and the fish was expertly prepared with great flavor. The name bar and grill was a bit misleading as it is less bar and more good dining experience.. Not bar food, but a focused menu with the love of a kitcken that cares coming to your table. The service was very good, particularly for a Friday night in season. Informative, charming and attentive. You gotta love great help who give a darn. Deserts were all very good.
