We had a clogged toilet, and called a few places before finding Mitch. At other places, I either got a voice mail (didn't leave a message), or they were only sending someone out hours from when we called (I called at 9:00 am). Mitch answered the phone himself, and came out within 30 minutes (or not even)! What a lifesaver! We had it fixed within the hour of calling him, and I'm now on my way to another appointment I have for the morning. He's not only fast, but also very friendly as well. It was not Mitch but one of his staff members that came to our home. He was 2 hours late. We had 4 things that we wanted him to look at. He was incredibly rude and unprofessional. On 7/2/13. Don from Mitch the plumber came out to fix a leak. It was at a difficult area. The city of Ann Arbor had to be called out to shut off the water. This plumbing company has a very good relationship with the city, a very nice city worker came right out to accommodate us. This was very helpful. As soon as the water was shut off Don fixed the problem for Me, at a very reasonable price and the time to fix it was also very fair. I most definitely will call these folks again. Thanks, Don. Overcharge, rude not follow up I deal with contractors often due to my income properties. The experience I had with this company is one of the worst. I needed to have work done on the discharge of the washing machine (change from flex hose to stand pipe) to meet code requirement. Pretty standard stuff, nothing complicated. His bid was the highest but he was the only one who could do it in a reasonable time. Since I was under time constraint I decided to award the job to Mitch. He came in, completed the work (less time than he quoted me). I payed him full price and asked him to send me a copy of the permit along with itemized bill. Nothing unusual since he charged me $140 to do follow up paper work. He cashed my check 10 days ago and I still don't have my paperwork. I requested him twice. He does not even return my messages. Next week I will contact their main office and file complaint. I don't recommend them to anyone. From my perspective they overcharge, they are rude and don't follow up. One thing is that they complete the job and no issues so far but time will tell how good a job they did. read more

Had a TERRIBLE experience with this RIP OFF operation. Called them about a sulfuric smell in my new home. An older man came out and immediately suggested to replace our hot water tank for which we agreed. We found out later that we could have saved 50% with another company for the same exact tank. Honesty should be every company's policy and it is NOT with this outfit.If that wasn't enough insult, they DESTROYED our backyard by driving their work van on our grass in our new home instead of carrying the tank a mere 20 yards thru our basement door. The 1 installer was very apologetic and promised that they would fix our grass and admitted that they should not have ruined our backyard out of laziness to carry the tank. When we called the owner to get our yard fixed, we were HUNG UP ON! I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. We are calling The BBB to report this company. read more

Called the guy Friday, made an early appointment for Monday, took the morning off work so I could be home and he NEVER showed up and didn't have the courtesy to even call and let me know he wasn't going to show up. Mitch failed to call back after leaving numerous voice mails. He was recommended to us by a friend, so we thought we'd give him a try. After finally getting a hold of him, he came to our house to give us an estimate, we agreed on a time and day for him to return and fix our leaky showers. He was a no show! I spent my whole day waiting around for him and he never showed up. I could have been out running errands etc. Never again! read more

Called Mitch and left several message and never returned call. Finally got a hold of him (I kept trying b/c I heard good reviews). He set up an appt. to come out in two days to check our sump pump situation (needed a back up), but he never showed up. We told him we needed a water-driven sump pump and he was skeptical that it would be possible in our neighborhood. We told him several others had them and that another plumber had said it wouldn't be an issue. Again, he never showed up--don't know if he's irresponsible or just didn't want to deal with our particular concerns. We called three times and again, he never responded, apologized, or called back. This is absolutely unacceptable for a professional. read more

Run away! When Mitch pulled up to my house he clipped my mailbox. I thought it was just a mishap until he stumbled out of the car, wreaking of alcohol with bloodshot eyes. I spoke with him briefly to make sure my observations were correct. In that time he slurred his words, swayed back and forth, and referred to me as "honey" multiple times. I asked if he had been drinking and he started yelling at me pretending to be insulted. He then wobbled back to his truck, ran over the curb, swerved to miss a mailbox and then onto the main road he went. I called the police but never heard anything back. A week ago I saw his truck going through town and was immediately on edge. read more

unfortunately i wasn't that impressed. they did send someone out two hours after i called, and i appreciated that. the guy had a salty mouth (that didn't bother me, but might bother some)-- gave me a few different lectures, one about what not to put down the toilet (when i repeatedly expressed that i had only recently moved in to this house and did not put the items in question down there) and another about what a big mess my basement is with instructions on how i need to get the water out of it. i thought that seemed like an obvious observation, but i guess it wasn't. or maybe my problem is that i am a young-ish female-- i sincerely doubt my boyfriend would have been talked to as if he had no idea that a basement full of water is a bad thing. he also used a shirt i had hanging over the wash tub in our basement as a rag, and left it, along with other misc. debris in the area he was working on. it wasn't a nice shirt (i had used it when painting our living room) but was definitely shirt shaped and not rag shaped and is definitely no longer wearable (covered in pipe crud) he had no idea what the yelp discount mentioned here was and kind of acted like i was trying to pull one over on him, even though i had mentioned it over the phone when calling for service this morning. i ended up paying $225 for a main line snake out to the sewer, after he called his boss to clarify the yelp discount. you might need to be pushy with that if you go with these guys. my invoice was illegible and basically worthless. one star for getting here quickly and another for taking care of the problem, though you can probably find someone who can do those things without treating you like a bimbo. read more

Mitch saved me $20,000! I had a chronic problem with sewer backups into the basement of a rental home I own. I finally decided to fix it once and for all. Another company (which shall remain nameless here) told me that the only way to fix the problem was to tear up the basement floor and replace the pipes underground. Furthermore, that my insurance would likely pay for a large portion of this, and that we should start immediately. This felt pretty sketchy to me, so I saw that Mitch had good reviews and called him for a second opinion. Even before I told him about the other company, he suggested that I contact 2 independent firms that would camera the sewer and pinpoint the nature of the problem before doing any major work on the basement. I had one of these firms come to the house, they located and fixed the problem without tearing up the basement. I never actually used Mitch's services because they weren't needed. But I very much appreciate the honest and responsible way he approached the problem. And the next time I need a plumber, I will give him a call. read more
