Thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Mitsubishi Buffet. I've been going there for years and even though I moved away, I visit whenever I'm in the area. The fried crab was delicious and as always I enjoyed the sushi and cold shrimp. Service was wonderful as The server saw me struggling with a crab leg and I looked up and there he was with the little cracker tool. (I hadn't even asked). My water was refilled as needed, again without me asking! So many places closed during COVID. I'm so glad they survived! read more

Well I was pleasantly surprised! Today Saturday went at 12 pm -they had hot and cold crab legs, snow crab, shrimp, oysters - and you can request them to make you fresh pho ! I was driving around the Clovis area, and I couldn't decide what to eat for lunch today. I thought to myself, Let's give Mitsui Buffet another shot. No wonder I haven't been here in ages. I thought A Star Buffet was bad; this was even worse. The only thing that stood out was the friendly, attentive service, their French fries, and their on-point fountain beverages with free refills. Most of their foods are a total miss, and some dishes are extremely salty. One of their pieces of equipment makes a super loud and annoying buzzing sound while I was eating, but the other positive thing is that they have better-quality napkins than any buffet here in Fresno/Clovis. If I'm spending around $20 for lunch, I'd rather go to Costco Food Court, El Pollo Loco, Golden Harbor Buffet, or anywhere else besides here. In my opinion, Golden Harbor Buffet is by far the best buffet in Fresno/Clovis, and they also have more varieties and selections for lunch. Our first time in this restaurant. There is potential for this buffet to be a great restaurant. Little things such as: 1.tempura batter was not used properly and tastes rubbery 2.canned fruits taste old and like it was used over and over again. 3.egg drop soup need to be kept simple. the smell and taste is earthy like old bamboo shoots. 4.nori wrapper on the sushi has old texture feel to it. Need to use better nori not the cheap brand. The good: 1.seafood was good (I.e. crabs, shrimp. But the steamed crab legs do not get refilled very often 2.seaweed was great 3.fresh fruit/vegetables 4.desserts were okay Like I mentioned there is a potential for greatness! I suggest the owner pay more attention to the details and this place will be full everyday. read more

I'm only giving this two stars for the service. That was the only good part about my experience. The staff was super friendly and nice but I did end up getting food poisoning from this location. Now, this may be a one off for the day. As this place has been highly recommended to me from multiple people. But when my friend took my self and her mom to Mitsui, even she said that there was something up with the food that day. I The first thing that should've been my warning flag was when I got a piece of sushi and there was hard chunks of rice in it so hard in fact that you couldn't even squish them. They sounded like little pebbles. The second warning sign should've been the super off tasting chicken on skewers. That were so dry and that even sauce couldn't help. My friends, mother said that her warning sign for this place was their their raw clams that were sitting in an ice bath, but underneath a heating lamp! My friends said "that they must have different chefs today because even the honey walnut shrimp, which is usually her favorite, tasted off, and like it was filled with too much mayonnaise." Like I said, I really hope this was a one off experience, but the bout of food poisoning I am going through right now Tells me to forewarn you all to be very cautious when coming here. read more

Food was pretty typical for an Asian buffet. Service is where the stars were earned from our visit. They were friendly and inviting from the beginning until the end. They hit all marks on service for sure. The environment was quiet for the time of day which was at or about 3:30 pm. I was a bit too dark for my liking. I understand the vibe they are trying to set. I'm someone that likes to investigate my food at the table lol so lighting is very important. Other than that, I'd give it another go but at a later hour. Def room for improvement. read more

WARNING We came here for dinner for Father's Day. I was shocked there wasn't a long line. We didn't have to wait for a table. I'm not one to write reviews but this place used to be really good before Covid. The staff is awesome but the food was just awful. The food was old, stale, hard, and dry. You can tell that it's been sitting out for more then 4 hours. I even saw MOLD in the jello that my baby wanted to eat but I didn't get it because of the mold. There was hair in my moms plate of food. Definitely needs some improvements. The meat tasted old, like it's been sitting in the fridge for a few days passed expiration. It just sucks that we have to pay first before even getting seated. It wasn't worth my $180 plus tip for 6 adults and a toddler. Very disappointed. Won't be coming here anymore. read more

Let's start by saying the help was awesome. Next we will cover the food . The sushi for what the cost of the meal is was a Bargain . Not a lot of variety but yet more than enough to enjoy two trips. The soup bar also was excellent with several types of soup. Although we did not eat at the salad bar . It looked quite appetizing. No to the hot dishes. It was 1:30 and some of the food was a little dry but over all it was a home run . The crab Ragu was delicious. The beef mushroom was just as good . The list goes on all good . The dessert bar unlike most Chinese restaurants was also delicious. We did not have the Mongolian .. But will save that for the next time. Also passed on the ice cream. Was to full. Hello the food is good n there is different things I like to give review because it's $5 off

I have been a patron for years always picking up dinner-to-go meals with the coupons that are sent to me periodically. These coupons read, "..receive 15% off your bill." The coupons have no other conditions that apply, but yesterday at 7:20 PM when I came in to pick up dinner-to go I was told that coupons are only valid for dine-in use. The coupons or text messages from Mitsui don't say this anywhere, nor is there any sign at the front counter. This was a surprise because they always accepted my coupons for years for to-go orders. I walked out, and went to Hunan's. I won't come here anymore. read more

I used to come here quite often during high school and college, but now this place has gone downhill completely. Once an enjoyable buffet loved by my dad, he among myself, and other family members that ate here on Father's Day; got food poisoning. There were many food safety violations and just overall health concerns with the food served here. The first is that the sushi chefs were not wearing gloves the whole time while handling different cuts of fish, though washing their hands help, working with all those different things gloves are a necessity. Next would be the room temperature oysters that were sitting in their salad bar area, they were slimy and definitely have been sitting out for some time. They also have self serve ice cream that you could scoop yourself, the dipwell's water was still and should have been running to keep the scoop clean. Let's talk about the food, the food was horrendous, many of the items that were there tasted as if it's been taken to the back and reheated. The desert station had nothing but old items, the sesame peanuts were STALE. I had also called ahead to see if they were offering seafood items, such as crab legs, crawfish, etc. Given that most buffets don't have crab legs on the menu anymore, we were all hoping to dine on some crab legs. If the stale food wasn't enough, people were constantly taking all the crab legs that they brought out, at the most they would have maybe a plate full of crab legs; which equates to about 12-15 legs. I don't understand how people would wait for such a thing. The interior was definitely in need of a deep cleaning, the carpets were dirty, and the tables were sticky. For some reason in the middle walkway they had a table set up selling books; not sure why but that's there. The service was mediocre at best, the server rarely came by to bus the plates as well as provide refills on drinks. It's summer, and it was uncomfortably hot in this place, eating was the worst experience, might as well have sat outside in the parking lot. Please avoid this place at all costs. read more

It's mediocre at best. The price was way too high for the quality of the food. I'm not trying to be mean....but I could not find anything I liked. Personally I'm not a fan of seafood, but my boyfriend is, so we went. Anything that was fried was so rock hard and old. The only thing that was freshly turned, was the broccoli beef and veggie egg rolls. It's just gross....i didn't even think to trust any of the raw fish...it looked so old and crusty. The cakes tasted and felt like that were there all day(same with 80% of their food). If you want a Chinese/Japanese buffet PLEASE go somewhere else. We told the sushi chef we wanted the #28 roll and he gave us a California roll. He said it was the one like the picture. Totally disappointed. Mitsui Buffett has become mine and my daughters top 3 spots when we are GodZilla HUNGRY!! They have a great selection of Asian cuisine, including but not limited to: Sushi, noodle dishes (hot & cold), chowmeins, rice (steamed and fried), seafood: crab legs usually, shrimp and boiled seasoned fish Mmmmm.. They have a pretty good salad bar to boot! Crisp salads, spinach and veggies sliced fresh.. They have a Cook to Order bar where you can have beef, pork, chicken or shrimp fried, boiled, steamed or turned into soup, chowmeins or noodle dishes!! Desert bar is definitely satisfying, ice cream(s) soft serve and scooped, puddings, cakes, cookies and pastries galore.. They do have Beer and Wine, Pepsi products and iced tea IS tasty!!
