    Nigiri meal sets!
    Venna Q. T.

Mitsuwa is one of my favorite supermarket chains. I've visited a Northern California one, and an Oahu one. I do wish they would have a MoDo (the best mochi donuts) but I dream and digress. But they do have the best groceries, snacks and drinks, and most importantly, fresh ready to eat meals and snacks to go! These grocery chains aren't meant to be some upscale or trendy destination. The consistency between locations across the country is nice. You always know what you're going to get when you drop in. They're a one stop shop for all things Japanese and worth the trek if you're not a Plano resident. Not to mention, everyone who works here is always kind and helpful. Another plus is that if you're not in the mood for what the market has to offer, the food court next door has different restaurants offering more street food options. I've tried most of them but I'm partial to the sushi here. That and the onigiri is my little one's favorite. Even better now that they carry Hoshi Cafe's giant onigiri! They don't have their full menu, but they have a lot of fillings that are toddler friendly. If you're craving a post meal boba, boba republic on the opposite end of the plaza has delicious drinks. Happy grocery shopping and dining! P.S. they have kid friendly carts with what's essentially their version of a cozy coupe attached to the front! Bless Mitsuwa for making it possible for parents with little ones to shop lol

    Assorted sweet treat.

A must stop spot whenever I'm in the area! Mitsuwa is a mostly Japanese grocery store that carries a great selection of fresh Japanese perishables, snacks, drinks, and imported goods. I always swing by here for dessert after grabbing sushi next door. It's become a bit of a ritual. Their mochi, puddings, and seasonal sweets are always rotating, so there's always something new to try. It's easy to get lost in the aisles discovering fun treats and drinks you won't find at your usual grocery store. If you're into Japanese cuisine or just love trying new snacks, Mitsuwa's definitely worth the visit.

Mitsuwa Marketplace is located in Plano, Tx that offers Japanese grocery and supplies where you can shop for all your favorite Japanese foods in a nice, clean, and friendly environment! The market can be easily found off of Legacy Drive. The parking lot offers ample parking due to it being in a shopping center where parking can easily be found. From entering the store, you will notice fresh fruit and vegetables as well as herbs and spices. This store has literally everything you need to host your upcoming shabu shabu party or yaki nikku gathering! They have a wide variety of already cut meats from beef cuts, and pork cuts as well as poultry. The seafood section is my personal favorite where you can buy whole slabs of sushi grade tuna, salmon, and also yellowtail and many more where you can just go home and cut your own and save big without going to a restaurant. They also carry many different variety's of bento boxes such as already cooked salmon over rice and chicken karaage where you can just pop in a microwave and eat minutes later. They have many options of onigiri such as tuna mayo, and salmon where you can easily bring to your next picnic or eat at the beach. They have already prepared sushi, and chirashi bowls that have soysauce and wasabi inside the container and the cashier will happily give you disposable chopsticks at check out. As for your fresh meats and produce they also have many flavors of instant ramen and udon, and are stacked with all your favorite sauces, salad dressings, and dipping sauces anyone could ask for! The drink selection is great here where they have all your teas, juices, and sodas as well as your alcohol such as beers, wines, and sake. The grocery market also sells your favorite Japanese snacks and candies as well as bread to complete your shopping experience. This place also has weekly sells on specific items so make sure you stay up on your shopping game to get the most bang for your buck! So, the next time you're in the mood for some good ole Japanese comfort food such as curry or maybe experimenting in the kitchen to make your greatest tonkatsu ramen or something so simple such as miso soup please come here for a one stop shop to pick up all your items at this supermarket and I'm sure you won't regret it!

Medium sized grocery store that has a lot of Japanese grocery items! They even have a food court and pre made bentos, sushi, onigiris and more. It's a fun area to go with friends, date, family etc. Recently I came for their taste of japan event and got to try some of their sushi and it was very delicious. I really enjoyed their scallop sushi the best. The next favorites were the madai and Yellowtail. You can also pre order sushi trays in advanced for Parties and or family dinners on their website or in store! Overall a clean grocery store with many Japanese items, a little expensive but it's more for convenience to find all Japanese items in one place!

Cool Japanese marketplace! This was such a treat to go to. There was a lot of exclusive Japanese products. The place was well designed and clean. The staff are friendly. I like that there was free samples to try. There's a lot of fun design.

This is a wonderful market! They have a large variety of items packed into this location. They have a small bookstore with stationary items, goshapon, and even a food court. The marketplace is very clean and organized in a logical way with prepared foods towards the front. My go-to items is their onigiri and baked goods. I love the Texas sized salmon onigiri they carry. So tasty and filling. I also tried a matcha latte and strawberry mochi donut from their food court. Both items were delicious and not too sweet. Warning it does get really crowded in the afternoon on the weekends which makes parking a challenge. I visited during a tuna cutting day so it was really crowded inside the store.

I've been to Chicago one so this is not as exciting as I expected. Grocery : great variety even though it's not that big. Food court : offer 4 options with to-go area inside the grocery part. Cleanliness : 9/10

There are so many great Japanese food and grocery options that are harder to find elsewhere here! Although the prices may not be as cheap as a large chain grocery store (understandably) I really love their large selection of unique Japanese snacks and fresh foods. The seafood is high quality and a very reasonable price. They even do events sometimes for great food or cultural experiences! The marketplace also has a gachapon section, a One Piece card game section and a large food court.

Fun environment and authentic Asian foods! On Saturdays they have samples you can try. We love shopping for speciality items here.

If you're in the area, this grocery store is worth checking out. It is big and has so many things to select from. The food court is also very convenient and tasty. Ramen 4/5 Very big portion. The flavor was good but a bit light. Bao 3/5 Saucy and filled with meat. Flavor was as expected but sauce was a bit much. Skewers 5/5 Great seasoning. It was spicy and flavorful.

    May have to cook this

Small Japanese grocery store with a nicely curated selection of authentic foods. Everything from an extensive sake selection to fresh meats(already sliced and ready for cooking). Snacks, drinks, make up. Anything someone from Japan needs to get a little taste of home, here in Texas. I found many products I want to try and can't wait to plan a menu and return. I was particularly impressed with the price and freshness of the octopus. If you're an adventurous cook you just have to ... Go!!!

Not so sure about the price for a size of cheese cake like this is $32 ? And small mousse cake in the cup is $9.99 ? I love mitzuwa but some of the items prices just freak me out lol

Do they sell bento boxes made fresh daily?

Yes they do! You can also stop by the degustations in mitsuwa and get a fresh bento made for you to eat in-store or to-go

Does Mitsuwa sell "sushi grade" fish?

Yes, there is fresh fish and frozen fish in the back, all of them are top quality and some are cut for sashimi and others for cooking.

Does Mitsuwa still mark sushi and other items half price an hour before close?

Went there 1 hour before closing on a Friday and got charged full price. Not sure if they only mark down towards literally closing as people were just huddled up and going in towards the end.

Do they still have fresh mochi?

Yes! Sometimes they are out but most of the times they are in stock with different flavors.

Do they have Mobility Scooters available to customers?

    No, they don't

Did a shop in there stop sell Royce chcololate?

Is Mitsuwa still making sushi at this time?

Yes, sushi and bento meals are still being made - keep in mind you'll want to get there before 3 PM because they do run out quickly.

Is their wagyu beef actually A5 quality?

Looks pretty decent. Try it out and let us know!

The presentation is beautiful! But the food itself was pretty lackluster for the cost. I got a variety set and my bf got the seared salmon set. Admittedly I've been to Aji-Kiji in San Francisco so my standards for boxed sushi omakase level was very high. Aji-Kiji was more elevated from the tiny building room to the food presentation, however the price was great too. Here it felt cheap in a few areas yet the price is the same level as them. The rice isn't the best and by extension, the rolls aren't perfect. I can get over that though, just picky due to the cost. Next, the fish was fishy. It was enough to make me worried if I could get sick. I ended up being fine, but honestly this place is just average sushi made to look better than it is

The three of us ordered a variety of sushi rolls and shared them. We went with a wide variety of options and found it was hard to land on just one favorite as a result. They offer options with some unique variations (e.g. like the North Texas roll that is topped with guacamole and baked with spices). The prices were reasonable, and I will say the width of each piece was on the smaller end, and we still walked away very satisfied with the amount of our meal. The service was on the slower side. They got slammed shortly after we got there and said they don't typically have that much of a crowd on a Sunday night so it caught them off guard. The provided salad was pleasant with a strong citrusy ginger flavor. The Red Clam sushi had wasabi hidden underneath the meat, so keep that in mind if you're a spice baby like myself. My partner described the Charashi bowl as good, especially for the price. My Katsu Don is where I felt everything fell a little flat. It was overly sweet, the rice underneath tasted a bit stale and like nothing, and the katsu itself was a bit too moist and no longer crispy on the outside. However, I must note that it was an impressive $13, when I feel the usual is more like over $20, for a decent amount. The waitstaff brought us these lovely pre-peeled and cut oranges with the check and they were a nice touch to the meal. Overall we had a decent, pleasant experience here!
