Hubby and ordered mini burgers. His with cheese tasted better. I tried one of their complimentary pickles in a jar by the tissue dispenser and didn't like the taste. The fries were OK. This has been the second time I've been mocked and insulted at two different locations for asking for extra crispy bacon. I think this company has a problem with asking for extra crispy bacon. I briefly stepped outside to check on my vehicle and returned before that time had passed, only to find the doors locked while customers were still inside eating. I waved to employees, but no one came to the door, and I never received the food I paid for. I have visited Super Duper many times at various locations. This time I visited the Mission location near 4th Street. I ordered my usual Chicken Sandwich -- grilled all-natural free-range chicken breast with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and house-made chipotle aioli on a fresh-baked ciabatta bun ($10.50). While waiting for my order, I noticed the usual self-service pickle station was empty. I usually enjoy having a few pickles with my meal. When I asked the counter employee about the pickles, she took one of the containers from the pickle station area and went back to the cashier/pickup counter to get some pickles for me. I'm not sure if they were temporarily out of pickles at the station or if customers are no longer allowed to help themselves, but I was glad they still had pickles available. I ended up getting about five pickle slices, which was more than my usual amount. The grilled chicken had just a hint of spice and was not overly spicy. However, by the time I had eaten about three-quarters of the sandwich, the bread had become soggy, likely from the sauce and juices from the chicken. Mini burger ($7.50) contains 1/4 ground meat which is a really good price! Honestly, the mini burger is pretty large. Order at kiosk (Toast order) or register. Super fresh burger, good ratio with bun. The patty just had enough salt which compliments the ratio of the burger. Garlic fries ($4.75) had fresh minced garlic, fries tasted great. Of course, do not forget the homemade pickle by the condiment area, not too acidic with good crunch. Seating area is pretty clean and gets quite busy, there's also a second floor too. The burgers are good, the fries are garlic-y and cheesy, the pickles are FRESHHH and crunchy, and the milkshakes always make me wish I got a full-size milkshake. This time we ordered a single, a double, garlic fries, and a kid-size twist milkshake to share. I don't know how they achieved the milkshake texture that they did, but it's literally perfect. I wish all burger joints made milkshakes like Super Duper. They also have sauces. You can buy a three sauce pack if you're a sauce person and need to dip your fries and burger in something. I used to go regularly to Super Duper Burger on Market Street. Since my company moved, the Mission Street location is now the closest one for me. I was a bit surprised to find that the burger here tasted slightly different from what I am used to. Although this location also serves the Bird Fried Chicken sandwich (which I love), I still prefer the Market Street location. My son even asked if the burgers was from the same place, which confirmed that it was not just me noticing the difference. I was also disappointed with my milkshake experience. I watched it sit on the counter for at least 10 minutes (maybe even longer) while waiting for my burgers. By the time it was handed to me, it was completely melted. I should of said something right away, but didn't want to wait around for them to make a new one for me. The ambiance felt consistent between both locations, but I found the Market Street staff to be a bit more friendly and welcoming. Based on this first visit, I would give this location a 3.5. I was tempted to round down, but I think it deserves another chance before I do that. read more

I gave Super Duper a second chance recently. Boy, did they respond. See everyone deserves a second chance. Unless you ask for a hamburger and they give you a salad. Immediate jail. Super Duper has so many locations now and my theory is the more locations, the more erratic the results can be. I got a truffle burger which was super duper tasty. Like I was taken back. Probably one of the best burgers I've had in SF. The Garlic fries I remember being top notch. They are still full of garlic and parm. Never skimp me on my garlic and parm. The hazelnut milkshake wasn't nutty enough for me. The previous time I had been to Super Duper it didn't quite move me. Plus you are getting a smaller burger and it's hard for me to get my wallet behind that. I can get my mouth behind it just fine. This time super duper did the dang thing and I'm proud of them. I took all three which was actually less than one pickle as they were quartered. I wasn't impressed with the flavor of their homemade pickle. It just didn't do it for me. The super burger was decent but I actually preferred the smash burger at Mel's Drive-In up the road. The flavor was just better. The garlic fries were incredibly greasy. The aged cheddar didn't melt and was grainy, probably why it was so greasy. While they provided the requested ketchup, there was no requested mustard.
