I regard The Melt's variety of beef burgers as exceptional for its quality meat. My Swiss-mushroom burger was nearly prepared with fresh spinach. I disliked the burger bun however as it crumbled too easily. I also feel that the double-mushroom burger was a little overpriced, especially with my $2 add-on of caramelized onions (total $18.95). The Chicken & Bacon Mac & Cheese entree proved most satisfying however in every respect. My strawberry milkshake even included some strawberry pieces inside the beverage rendering it authentic. I also commend the Melt for including complimentary pickles. The Melt restaurant on Market Street off Powell BART station however, did not include a free water dispenser unlike Shake Shack offers. Customers should be permitted to have free access to drinking water. The atmosphere was pleasant inside and catered plenty of dining tables. read more

You get solid beef, cheese, mushrooms, and crispy bits all working together. Nothing overly complicated, just a good, satisfying burger. The Cookies and Cream Shake is great too. Really good texture and flavor, and pretty much exactly what I want out of a shake. The Garlic Fries were a disappointment though. The Parmesan wasn't melted, the garlic sometimes overpowered everything, and the fries themselves were nothing special. I'd skip these. Service is quick and pretty curt, but I honestly get it because they're constantly slammed with orders late at night. The line can get insane since this is one of the only reasonable places to grab food past a certain hour. Inside, there really isn't enough seating to handle the late-night crowd. I was surprised that I preferred the single burger. The double was a bit too loaded for the bun. Still, the burgers are pretty good. Juicy enough, cheesy, but I was generally blown away and neither was my family. They also offer chicken sandwiches. Would have given it 4/5 stars if the shake had been delicious, but it was not. I've been to several of their locations, including ones long since closed (R.I.P. Embarcadero), but never to this location. Quite busy and a tad chaotic. I ordered food for here, but they gave me a bag instead of a tray. Three Cheese Classic: Nostalgia overload, especially paired with a tomato soup. Fluffy bread. Nicely toasted (but not greasy). Lots of gooey cheese. Tomato Soup: Adds an umami blast and much needed moisture to the grilled cheese. The fluffy bread is perfect for really sopping up a lot of this delicious creamy soup. Chicken Parm Melt: Sounded good in theory, but the execution wasn't great. Fluffy white bread is a weird choice for chicken parm, since Italian bread or a crusty hoagie roll would have been better. Also, was a bit skimpy on the tomato sauce, so seemed kinda dry. And then the chicken breast separated from the crunchy breading, making an awkward and not evenly distributed texture experience. Melty Mac: The sleeper hit here. Al dente mac in a nice twirly shape. Great cheese sauce and nice crunchy cheesy topping too. Definitely the best mac and cheese I've had at a fast casual joint. I could seriously return just for this. Strawberry Shake: Way better than the the pink milkshake from that burger chain that shall not be named. We ordered through DoorDash and got the Steak Fajita Mac ($13.99), the Double BBQ Bacon Meltburger ($18.99), Snickerdoodle and Cookies & Cream Milkshakes ($8.49 each) and Mini Mac ($5.99). I've never seen my teen son put away so much food that fast. He loved every bite. There had to be 1.25 pounds of quality beef in that burger. I ate more than half of the rich and delicious Fajita Mac. First, the spicy jalapeños are a great counterpoint to the dish and the onions, steak and peppers are generously stirred through it. The Melt does not skimp on the shaved beef throughout the lusciously cheesy Mac from the top of the dish all the way to the bottom. (Don't you hate when the expensive ingredients are only visible on top- and just lightly? This was not the case at The Melt). The Melt might've just edged itself into first place for best burger. I grabbed a quick burger here when staying at a hotel down the street while visiting San Francisco. There were so many tasty sounding options but I went with the swiss n' shroom melt burger, which has 1/3 lb of beef that has been chopped and grilled, with 2 slices of swiss cheese, spinach, grilled mushroom, crispy onions, and ranch on a toasted bun. They did not skimp on the toppings and it was a messy, delicious handful. Perfectly savory, crispy, juicy, and downright luscious for $11.99. We were looking for a bite to eat before a show at the Warfield. The highly rated Saluhall was pretty barren, so we went to this place. It looked like it should've been better. The fries were good and the shake was decent. The ordering process is similar to other fast-casual spots and is mostly via self-order stations and it works pretty well. I love The Melt! I used to go all the time when I was living in OC, and I don't think there's any place like it in Vegas, so I knew I had to stop by before flying out. We tried this out because it was open late in SF, until 3 am! There is a gluten free bun for burgers and bread for melts/grilled cheeses. The gf bun tasted good but fell apart very easily so it was extremely difficult to eat. Had to result to fork and knife for a burger. There was a steady flow of people and delivery drivers in and out but it was not overly packed (at 12:30am). There was a security guard outside at the door to control any possible crowds. They had some salad and soup options as well that we didn't get to try. When we came they had a deal for a free milkshake with a $10 purchase. Walked here after a concert at August Hall. I would say it's probably about a 10 minute walk which is really inconvenient because it was the closest restaurants open after 11pm. I appreciated the multiple screens to order from because we got to choose what we wanted and place our order right away. I think the sweet potato fries were great. The salad was ok and my avocado bacon sandwich was good. The location itself is more of an eat & go not really dine in. More of a fast food location, but I think overall the food is good and you could take the food to home if you don't finish. I had to leave a review for The Melt because my experience was a hands-down 10/10! This was my first time ever eating here, and it definitely won't be my last. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and really hit the spot. I especially recommend the cheddar bacon ranch fries -- I personally got mine without the ranch since I'm not a fan, and they were still a solid 10/10. My other half got his with the ranch, though, and absolutely loved it. If you're into ranch, I'd definitely suggest keeping it on because it pairs really well. The service was great too! Even though they were really packed, I still got my food in a timely manner, which made the experience even better. Overall, The place has a cool, modern industrial look--exposed ceilings, pendant lighting, and long shared tables that give it a laid-back but slightly trendy vibe. Came here yesterday 03/07/2026 on a busy night in the city right after the Chinese New Year Parade. I must say the workers sure are professional and working fast. The fast food restaurant is being taken care of with love by the workers as they were cleaning and wiping down the tables. Food came out at a significantly decent good time the food tasted like it is freshly made to order. Do try out their milkshakes especially the cookies and cream one and the snickerdoodle one. My favorite is the regular 3 cheese Mac. I'm pretty simple and it's the best one, in my opinion. I'm from the south so these Mac n cheeses are done right. On a quest for the best milkshake, I saw that the Melt had a snickerdoodle shake. It's the first time I saw that flavor so I was excited to give it a try. The spot is open until 3 am so I came for a literal midnight snack. I ordered online for pick up and it was ready within 10-15 minutes. Upon entering, you'll see that there are stairs on the left where you can go for upstairs seating. There's a "separate" line for order pickup, but a lot of people just got in front when their in store order was ready, so it took a while to actually get the food. For food, the garlic parmesan fries were so good! Nice and crispy, perfectly seasoned and not a cheese overload. I love the Melt seasoning (the green) they sprinkle on! Mini mac was just alright -- the breadcrumbs (optional topping) made it worse because they felt/tasted stale. Otherwise just a normal tasting mac and cheese. For the highlight: the snickerdoodle shake was definitely yummy! The taste reminded me of something (aside from obviously snickerdoodle) but I couldn't put my finger on it. But whatever it is, it's good! Consistency was what I was looking for -- not too thick but also not too viscous.
