***consumers beware****overcharged for greek fries. display said $4.50. they charge me $5. after i questioned it. i got a bogus answer that is the city tax. city tax is on the receipt labeled. they wouldnt offer me the difference. that is a bait and switch. wont be back. update after owner response: there is no confusion on pricing as its displayed. my confusion is when i brought it up, i assumed they called the owner and still did not provide a refund of the difference. it's not about the 50¢. it's about not honoring posted prices. read more

Well, I'm here for the week at the convention center and I needed something quick to eat when I was finished for the day so I decided to stop in here and get a Gyro combo which came with soda and fries and I also got the spanakopita. My apologies if the spelling of that is incorrect it seems like spellcheck on my phone decided to take a nap It took about 10 minutes to get my food and the french fries have a seasoning on them in their shoes, string fries, and they were on the cold side and the other side dish seemed that it wasn't cooked all the way and was greasy and a Gyro same it was lukewarm at best, but it had a lot of meat in it and it was well prepared and it did have a lot of flavor so I can't complain there. It seems a lot of people order their bowls, which look really good so I might give him another try before I leave here and get a bowl and see how that is. There are a lot of different eateries right in this area of a Moscow center so hopefully you have a good experience on life unlike mine that if you're hungry, you're hungry you're gonna eat pretty much anything you know what I'm saying. It's probably one of the best Gyros to be found in San Francisco. It's pricey (welcome to the city) and it could have a little more meat by default so I can't go all five star on it...but it is still the best you'll find in the city in my ongoing research collection. read more

I have been a fan of Nick the Greek for 10+ years since my college days at SJSU. I decided to do a DoorDash order since I don't really work close to one anymore and it's cold and raining outside. I know DoorDash takes fees from restaurants but I was appalled that I paid $15 for a side of Nick's fries and it would have been an additional $7 for a full size. I was thinking "I know inflation is a thing but this is crazy". I go on their official website and searched online orders for this location and a side of Nick's fries is $6.25 and a full order is $12.50. I don't know what fees DoorDash charges but charging about 50% more than the original price is crazy to me. I don't think I'll be doordashing here again. But will pop in if I'm ever in that area. read more

I'd been curious about Nick The Greek for a little while now...I finally got the chance to satisfy my curiosity. I had a Chicken Pita sandwich, which wasn't so great...the chicken did not have the good quality I was expecting; I also didn't care for the honey mustard sauce. The Tahini Crunch Salad was pretty good - loaded with lots of vegetables and other vegetarian items, I liked the layers of flavors and textures in this dish. This was my first time at the particular Nick, the Greek, which is actually on the outskirts/backside of the Metreon. We were in San Francisco for the NBA crossover event and meant everything was packed! We decided to go with something we knew was delicious and filling so we went to the Greek. Tried their location in Rincon Center when it opened and was quite impressed. Now giving the Metreon location a try, ordering different menu items this time. Still a great place! Nick's Fries w/ Pork Gyro: This is pretty intense! Crispy fries made to order, wispy pork gyro shaved to order, generous amount of shredded feta and lots of nice creamy sauce. Not a veggie in sight. Very rich and indulgent. I imagine this might even taste better late at night, after a few beers, but alas I don't think they're open at such hours. Beefteki Pita: It's shaped like a McRib and kinda has the same texture, but it tastes more like a big slab of beef gyro. On a fluffy pita with lots of yogurt sauce and fresh veggies, it's pretty tasty. But I think texture wise I prefer the thinly shaved gyro. Loukoumades: Kinda like doughnut holes made fresh to order that are tossed in a wet honey syrup and sprinkled with walnuts. Definitely more memorable than baklava or frozen yogurt. read more

Stopped by on a Tuesday around 5pm before the movies. The restaurant was only 5% full. Ordered a beef/lamb gyro, pork belly gyro and a Greek froyo with added honey and baklava. All their gyro pitas were $13.25, even if you ordered a veggie or falafel pita. Usually at other Greek restaurants those tend to be a buck cheaper at least. Service was super fast. Got our pitas in just 3 minutes. The pita was warm and fluffy. The fillings were a good amount. The flavors are similar, with the pork belly being a tad saltier. Fries were meh, a bit dry for me. Or do the next best thing by ordering the beef/lamb gyro pita or any other gyro pita from Nick the Greek. I Ike & Tina Turner like, the beef/lamb gyro pita from Nick the Greek! The tzatziki sauce in the gyro pita from Nick the Greek is authentic. It tastes how a good Greek tzatziki sauce should taste that consists of cucumber, garlic, herbs, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and strained yogurt. Am I boring you? The fries delivered by the Door Dash courier were the only thing that was problematic, but were easily redeemed, by frying them in a little olive oil in a pan for a few minutes. I went here around 6:30pm on a Saturday and there was a short line. I was so excited when I found out they opened another location. This location recently opened near Metreon. We ordered the Pork Belly Gyro Combo w/ Nick's Fries, Burger Combo w/ Greek Fries, Pita Bread, Loukoumades, Fountain Drinks (Dr. Pepper & Mountain Dew), and the Froyo w/ Chocolate Shell. Everything I tried was good, but I always love getting a gyro whenever I see one! The Pork Belly Gyro was my favorite and I loved how soft the pita bread was and stuffed it was. The Loukoumades was also a highlight for me since it reminded me of a donut hole that wasn't too sweet. I'd recommend this place! I'm so glad they opened a location that is easy to get to. They have a lot of seating inside and I loved how many booth seats there are. Most importantly, everything I got that day tasted good! I just wish they could stay open a little later. read more
