I'm a salad connoisseur and regular at all the salad competitors, so I know my salads. I just ordered the saddest, grossest salad at Mixt Santa Monica last night. It was the Bachelor salad with light dressing. I took it to-go and by the time I got home 6 minutes later, it was soggy, wilted, all pure mush, and very little lettuce in the cont. It was way overdressed even though I said light dressing. I didn't watch her make it so I wonder if it was made earlier and just sitting. I had to throw it away. This salad was so incredibly disappointing; what a waste of $18! Side note: staff are not very friendly. They make you feel like you're burdening them when you ask for utensils, napkins, and a bag. I have been coming to this Mixt as well as other locations, and have always had the best experiences with the food. The service specifically in Santa Monica is absolutely phenomenal, and I really love their Hollywood location as well I had to review my undesirable food experience today because I don't know if they're changing the standard for what they feed us but the chicken tasted more like Chicken of the Sea and I always get double chicken always with the grilled chicken so that I don't have to deal with any of the seed oils. All their dressings feature canola oil as the base so I always get basic olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and I always love the salad that I get but with the chicken being so disgusting it made it hard to enjoy the salad so I'm hoping they can reset their standard to what they've always had which has been phenomenal. Receiving a to scoopers filled with chunks of chicken that came out of a bowl from underneath the bar was not only gross to experience but gross to taste. read more

This place looks cute but their bowls cost ~ $20 + with tax and tip. Here is a photos of the three different bowls we tried a Caesar, Harvest and Rustic Salad and we each paid $20 for 98% lettuce. My friend who's salad is in the center had to keep taking lettuce out in order to actually eat something besides lettuce. I'm happy I tried it but I will definitely keep my business next door at Sweet Greens where I get much more for my money at a better price! read more

Mixt is my favorite spot to stop by when coming from Burke Williams or just walking in the area. They make any kind of salad you like and the portions are generous. Service has been good every time, and my favorite item is the fried cauliflower, it is sooo good, but doesn't travel well. I pop it in the air fryer or just eat onsite. I'm vegetarian so sometimes it's hard to find anything other than salads so these were a wonderful surprise. It's clean and quiet and I think someone was even doing a little video in the corner one time, looks that nice. 5 stars. read more

This is a yummy salad place and was much more filling than I anticipated. They allow you to specially craft a salad for you. My salad was excellent! I ordered a salad composed of: mixed greens, baby spinach, fresh mix herbs, goat cheese, crushed walnuts, cranberries, grapes, apple slices and grilled chicken. I ordered it with Cesar dressing on the side but will probably go for balsamic vinegar next time. I also ordered a sea salt chocolate chip cookie! When I first stepped into the establishment I was entranced by the ambience Jack Harlow was setting with his hit single "Lovin On Me", but I was immediately taken aback by the lack of professionalism the employees had to offer. To start I noticed one of the middle aged, blonde, female employees had what seemed to be a very SUSPICIOUS sore on her lip? To further mention, I was unfortunate enough to witness one of the older male employees on the front line relieving himself from an itch in his nether regions not to mention this taking place before him handing back my change. It is beyond me how they got an A from the FDA, perhaps if they were signifying A for ALARMING. To say the least I will not be coming back and I advise anyone who respects their digestive health to avoid this store. I walked by this place after strolling along the third street promenade and was craving something filling but healthy on a unseasonably cold day. Upon walking in I was greeting by the friendly staff who explained that I could design my own salad or order off the chef designed signatures menu. I don't trust myself to put together something tasty on my own, so I opted for the Mixt Cobb, but I substituted organic baby kale lettuce for the organic butter lettuce that comes standard and sharp cheddar for the blue cheese that comes standard. I also added an iced tea and chocolate chip sea salt cookie. Wow! The salad was huge, fresh, and delicious. You can tell the ingredients are cooked fresh and homemade. The sharp cheddar didn't have that white powder coating you so often see at salad bars and the bacon came in big chunks that looked like they were cut by hand. The iced tea was standard and the cookie was top notch. I ended up boxing up the second half of my salad to eat for dinner. I have a meeting in Santa Monica next week and I'm already planning to try one of the seasonal salads and will add bacon. read more

I ordered my salad and brought it home to eat it, when I opened it up I saw that the salad was absolutely DRENCHED in dressing. I'm talking dripping, soaking wet. I definitely didn't ask for heavy dressing, but this was way beyond it. I thought to myself, no problem, probably a mistake, so I went back to exchange it for a new one. I went in to explain the situation and was immediately told off. "She put the amount of dressing you asked for" "She did what you asked" I was basically told to get out from a women that didn't even make the salad, let alone take a look. 0/10, will never go back. I wanted the Cobb salad but I don't like cheese , the young gentleman Omar was very nice and said I could exchange one of the ingredients without the extra charge which was perfect!! Excited to have a new salad spot open up in Santa Monica. The spot is cute and spacious. They have a great menu and a wide selection of fun toppings. Their portions are large to make up for the price. My only issue is the dressing. The first time I went, I said "medium" dressing. It came drenched. It was so overdressed and soggy that I ate the protein, sought out some of the veggies, and basically had to toss the rest. I decided to try it again today, thinking the issue was because they had just opened last time and perhaps they were still working out the kinks. I ordered the Peachy seasonal salad and this time I said "light" dressing. It's better than last time (not dripping) but still a bit too overdressed. I was wondering if it was just my luck but based on the other reviews, it's not only me. There's a Simply Salad nearby, as well as a SweetGreen next door. MIXT was a little more expensive than Simply Salad, but it's good to have variety for my lunches. Have been half a dozen times. Typically not bad. Today, my salad had grapes that went bad and the peach iced tea also was past its prime. I visited MIXT in Santa Monica yesterday. I'm not sure if the lady that helped us was the manager or the owner but she was incredibly welcoming. The salads were amazing and paired with the aqua fresca, simply amazing. I would recommend this location for anyone looking for healthy choices. I had the "Peachy" salad without the barbecue drizzle and avocado as my protein. My friend had the same but with fried cauliflower. This is truly a place of Salad Artistry.
