    Build your own acai bowl

The service here was exceptional! Everyone that helped me here was super friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that the wifi was not working when I visited. I came here to study, as I was in the area, and this spot intriuged me because the photos showed comfortable looking seats. I think this was a great place to study. I was here for about 6 hours. The vibe and setting was nice, and there was one bathroom available as well as board and card games available. Staff was also constantly cleaning tables! The menu selection was great. I got the chicken pesto wrap and the iced beekeeper latte. Both exceeded my expectation. The first bite of the wrap was super good, and the coconut cream foam on the latte was very yummy. I noticed in the past there was an option for a yogurt bowl, but they did not have that on the menu anymore, and that is something I wanted to try. I later had an acai bowl with strawberries, mango, granola, cacoa nibs, coconut nectar, and coconut whipped cream. It was very fulfilling, and one of the best acai bowls I had. The menu seemed healthy and it was fairly priced. I am not vegan or have any allergies, but it seems they had a great variety for those that are and/or have gluten allergies. The granola was gluten free and it was pretty tasty! I really enjoyed the theme of this place. The bee theme was really cute and there were subtle on-theme things, and I loved how on the menu, it referred vegan as beegan. The cushion seating was quite comfortable and they had some outlets as well. The staff here today, Friday, were one of the nicest staff I have encountered. They were helpful and had amazing positive attitudes, especially the girl. The guy was also very kind and it just felt like a very inviting place. The parking lot was quite small and very busy, but I was able to find plenty of street parking a block or two away. I will be back again when I am in town, I just hope the wifi will be back up and running because I used all of my hotspot data here!

I absolutely love that the menu includes such great, whole food and nutrient dense recipes and snacks. I ordered the salmon protein bowl and it was phenomenal. The ingredients all pair so well together and it's a great meal, rich in healthy fats from the salmon and avocado. I can't wait to come back and try more items. The salad dressing was fantastic and paired so well with the salmon. I also love how community centered this place is. There's lots of family seating and there's even board games to sit awhile and entertain while you're eating.

Delicious food for vegetarians and others! The shroom bowl is excellent, and there are plenty of vegan and gluten free options. Eat here or take to go in a compostable container. Top notch espresso is relatively cheap and served in ceramic cups. Yay! Expensive vegan sweets and treats. Fancy smoothies. Eat indoors or outside. Friendly service and they keep it running smoothly even when it's busy. What's the George Washington connection?

Plenty of seating outside and indoor! Good customer service and good came out quick Got the chicken pesto wrap. The chicken could have been juicier but pretty good flavors otherwise

Great local spot to have something healthy or sweet! As a huge bee enthusiast, I love that there are beekeeping books and all sorts of honey and bee pollen to try. The lavender latte was excellent (lavender is one of bee's flowers to pollinate), and the rose ricotta toast was sweet but every bite was perfection. Great place to work for a few hours or enjoy a meal with a friend. Parking in the back. Will definitely return to try one of the bowls. Love the bee art on the walls and in the bathroom!

I absolutely love this place I'll be at it can be a little pricey I spend about $15-$17 per breakfast shake "Sun God " with added hyaluronic acid It's such a delightful mix of banana and coffee and the coco nibs and bee pollen topped make for great texture/crunch I decided to deviate from my normal shake and try their beauty bowl Great flavors and such a beautiful mix 10:10 would purchase again

Despite serving superfoods, it didn't mean that taste couldn't be enjoyable; yes that's exactly what I found at The Hive. Providing comfy space at the hook of National Boulevard, this place was certainly a hidden gem for me as I could get spoiled by the cozy cafe-alike ambience yet delighting myself with scrumptious healthy food options. The menu was pretty rich, serving both warm and cold bowls, both sweet and savory options. Our first one was the Tuna Protein Crunch, serving generous portions of Tuna as the main protein but complemented by tons of other elements like including avocado, shaved parmesan, edamame, caper, watermelon radish, chia seeds, hemp seeds, lemon herb farro, and greens. IKR, so royal and flavorful with a lot of different textures altogether got you delighted. I earlier was a bit skeptical about how it will turned out but now the dish successfully got me converted. The highlight was surely their crunchy chickpeas! For the sweet cold bowl option, I ended up going for BYO bowl, standing under pressure to make my order decision fast, with pretty long line behind me. I went for acai base with blueberries and strawberries for my fruit toppings, accompanied by granola and cacao nibs. Not to forget, extra almond butter. The serving size was so filling and I still had toppings to enjoy even at my last spoon. I wished I have more of the almond butter, but everything was just right in this bowl. The acai base was refreshing and coming at precise texture as my liking. All the fruits as seen from the pic were so fresh as well. Next time I would doubtlessly go for their house-crafted combo. Overall really enjoy my premiere visit to this spot ;)

    - [ ] Okay, I was very excited to try The Hive because it seems very friendly to a lot of different dietary preferences and I love a good bowl. But I was kinda disappointed. I built my own bowl with spinach, edamame, broccoli, pickled onions, crispy chickpeas, and the tahini dressing and then paid extra for a poached egg on top. It was a takeout order. The bowl was *so light*. The broccoli was super soft and cut into like tiny tiny pieces (pieces feels generous? It was like the broccoli was so soft they then put it into a chopper and it creates like bits of broccoli, and there was barely any of it. There was a generous helping of pickled onions, and the spinach was nice and fresh. But yes, I think for the price, I was just pretty disappointed for the amount of food. Also, they don't let you mix your base so maybe it would've been better as a mix of spinach and quinoa but that wasn't an option. I'd advise again getting a salad because it was not filling even with the egg on top. Also, it might just be on me for getting take out, but the yolk was basically completely hard for the poached egg so that was disappointing. I don't think I'll be trying here again. Since I did take out, can't comment on the vibe but the outdoor seating area does look nice.

Stayed in an Airbnb nearby, and was grateful this spot was an option!! I'm a matcha stan, and adding cinnamon to this matcha made it next level!! Also enjoyed their cappuccinos and avocado toast. It was so hearty and fresh!! We went every day of our stay! :)

I loooved this cute spot in west LA. Went here on a Tuesday late morning and being a vegetarian was pleasantly greeted with a great menu of items ranging from burritos to açaí bowls. I got the BYO bowl which was exactly what I was craving - something healthy but satisfying and delicious! It's my new place whenever I go to the west side ! Tip: there is a small parking lot that gets crowded at lunch time but if you arrive a bit early 11:40am your chances of finding a spot will increase~

Amazing vibes and amazing food at The Hive! Stopped in on my recent trip and was impressed at the healthy options on the menu and how fresh my high protein acai bowl was. Sadly, we had to run, so the only chance we had to enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant was while we waited for our food to be prepared, but I loved the plants, the book collection, and the games available -- this would be an amazing weekend brunch spot!

    inside-- very open and bright!

Visited the Hive for the first time today and I already cannot wait to go back. The aesthetic inside is so refreshing and they have free wifi to use! There are plenty of tables and lots of natural light. There were a lot of people doing work in there and it could be a place that I would post up for a while. Great vibes! There is a little parking lot right by the cafe, but there are some other lots nearby if that one fills up. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk and hazelnut syrup, the barista was very kind. It was $5.80 which is a reasonable price compared to most LA prices. It took about 5 minutes and it tasted great! I enjoyed the roast of coffee and would order it again. Looking around, the food looked incredible-- from the salads to the donuts, I will absolutely be back and will bring my appetite!!

We enjoyed the naan & dips (tahini tofu, carrot 'hummus'), and they offered corn chips for my friend to enjoy because she is gluten-free. For my entree, I had the sticky glazed fried maitake mushroom, and OMG, was it worth every penny! The dish was so flavorful and nothing like I've ever had! It was my friend's birthday, so we also ordered dessert. I had the mango sorbet, it was soooo smooth and refreshing! Our servers, food runners, and bartenders were so kind and raved about the Chef. It is clear they are all a well-oiled machine and enjoy working together as a team. The restaurant was clean, and the entire vibe of the restaurant was charming. Even though my partner and I had a reservation that we showed up on time for, we waited 30 minutes to be seated. That wait time is pretty outrageous considering we reserved a table for 30 minutes earlier. Once seated, we noticed that the staff were extremely slow and inattentive. It took a while for us to get some water and even longer to get our food. The pacing between dishes was ludicrous. The food here is the saving grace for the disappointing service. We started off with the naan & dips. The dips were tahini tofu and carrot hummus. I liked the tahini tofu dip much more than the carrot hummus. It was creamy, nutty, and savory. The naan was fresh and nicely charred. Next we had the goat liver mousse. This included crumpets, biscuit crackers, craisin relish, seasonal jam, and of course, goat liver mousse. The crackers were too dry for me, but I really enjoyed the warm crumpets. All of the spreads were equally good. The goat live mousse itself was smooth and light. For the main courses, we shared the grilled kalbi-style short ribs and pork belly noodles. The short ribs were covered in a sweet-savory sauce and had a deep caramelization, while the meat was tender and juicy. As for the pork belly noodles, the overall flavor was too salty, but the glass noodles had a nice texture. Throughout our entire meal, there was a fly that kept trying to fly onto our food. It was very annoying to deal with. I was surprised that it was even an issue, considering we had indoor seating. I would have understood if only we were seated outside. Ultimately, I did not leave with a great impression of this restaurant. On top of that, there isn't any designated parking lot, so you'll be lucky if you can even find street parking. If not, you'll need to use one of the paid lots nearby. Also, beware that this restaurant adds a surcharge to all checks regardless of party size.

It remains a unique addition to the neighborhood, as well as a good place to grab some interesting dishes. Since the opening of this particular business, the Zinc chain has opened in a few other locations. Those locations are much newer in not only their establishment but their design. This is not to say that this is still not an interesting, well-designed business, but, with time, it has become a little bit rundown. I hate to say it, but that is the truth. This location could really use an update and perhaps a deep cleaning. I was, in fact, kind of surprised at the condition of this business, for example, on the way towards their restrooms. From my opinion, it needs an clean up and an update. Also, the litter that surrounded some of the outdoor tables where I was sitting at my most recent visit was very surprising. This is just something to keep in mind if you're coming here for your first visit. In terms of what they offer for food, though it has evolved a bit over the years, they still have a great, heath-based menu, with some very interesting choices. For all of you vegetarians and vegans out there, you will, for sure, be able to find some tasty food to eat. Once upon a time, this restaurant was impacted with tons and tons of people. It was constantly full with people either going to the bakery and/or sitting down for table service. Shortly past their opening each day, there would be a line of people waiting for service. This seems to have changed, however. Meaning, if you're looking for an interesting place to eat, with some good dishes, at the far Southeast side of DTLA, near the lofts district, and you want a place without a long wait to get a table and/or your food, this may still be your place to go.

We could understand that it was busy but the waitress never apologized or said anything like they were understaffed or anything. Also, we had a few questions about the menu and our drinks and the waitress would just say, "I think so?" or give a vague answer. She didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu at all. Maybe she was new, but clearly training was lacking. I don't think I'll be returning but since I see many reviews relating to service issues, hopefully management is able to address the deficit

Lastly, I really dug the tostadita de atún. It hit perfectly on these hot summer days. Low-key, I still want to try the El Rey de Noche. Tacos de beef trompo are starting to hit LA, and dude was ahead of the curve making picanha-brisket tacos de trompo. Service is smooth too. The servers are helpful, and solid at the bar. Overall, it's a cool spot with a menu that feels unique to LA.

A few weeks ago, I tried a sample of a Venison burger at Sprouts and it was pretty amazing. I felt…read morethat I needed to try this here as well. My friend just flew in for a day because his relative had forgot her passport and needed to travel to Korea, so we stopped here. He missed a few meetings, a vet appointment and other things, but also saved the day, otherwise his relative wouldn't have been able to make it to Korea. While here, they ordered a salad with cherries and pecans that was pretty amazing. I think that may have been one of the better salads I've eaten. In addition to that, a cucumber burrata salad was ordered, and that was made well too. When my venison burger arrived, I took a few bites and it had the exact flavor I was hoping for and I thought the burger was done extremely well. My friend also ordered a pork chop, and it was an amazing cut, cooked perfectly, tender, juicy and everything you could ever want in a bone in pork chop. They also cut the entire piece for you and scraped every last bit off of the bone too. The service is really attentive. They come by your table a lot to ensure you have everything you need. The ambiance is a bit dim in lighting which sets a nice mood. And the place just happens to be dog friendly too. Sorry for the lack of photos, but I didn't wanna intrude on everyone else's meals. However, if you come here, definitely try the salad with cherries and the venison burger or the pork chop!

Great for pics The pop Benedict was good but not super filling, the eggs well seasoned and good sauce Bacon super bomb, if you like sweet Canadian bacon. Not a fan of the grits Tartar 10/10 easy really good dish to get to share Chile was okay nothing else besides sauce and chips 4/10 Ribeye steak very small like 6 oz steak for $58 it's great but not for the size and quality Great service, really fast and their mixed drinks were bomb too. I liked the melon one 9/10 Overnight oats is good too but on the higher end, 7/10 nothing crazy but still good If I go back the butter, burger and pop Benedict would be the move or bacon
