Tonkotsu Ramen, seaweed salad, shrimp tempura and shaggy dog roll

Our first time to eat in Miyabi Sushi & Ramen! The atmosphere is ok and a little small with few tables only. The foods is good and decent price for a Japanese foods.I had Tonkotsu Ramen and seaweed salad which in my opinion is good and my daughter had shrimp tempura and shaggy dog roll and she said it is good. The server is friendly and gave us on the house cream cheese tempura which is not bad at all.

Been dying for some sushi the last week and decided to walk over this evening for an easy date night. Upon entering we were one of only a couple tables. We were promptly greeted and asked about drinks. My husband and I reviewed the menu and ultimately decided what to get. Everything was going well to this point. Hopefully I have a texture thing about seaweed on the outside which I feel isn't completely crazy. I provided to ask for my rice to be on the outside which has never been an issue at any sushi restaurants I have been to nor has it been here. Well you'd have thought I asked for something completely insane tonight. I was told no along with reconfirmation. I understood and moved on. Luckily they did end up coming up with asking if I'd like the upcharge of the soy paper which I went with since I know otherwise I wouldn't have ate the majority of our meal since even the Philly roll has the seaweed on the outside here. Overall the food wasn't bad but also nothing that impressive either. I think if I were to return I'd likely be sticking to the ramen menu.

I've seen such a consistent level of positive reviews from Miyabi for a while now and I'm glad I have it a shot. They seem to be the gold standard for neighborhood sushi spots. They have a bit of a small footprint so could be hard to get a table, but they look to do a good job with takeout orders. Inside they have some pretty niche Japanese music that seems to skew towards the younger girl demographic, it was like nails on chalk for even a large anime fan like myself. Other than that the seating was fine and the decor was fun. Truthfully I thought all the items we ordered here were on par in some ways with some of the best Japanese joints I've been to in Houston. The ramen was velvety and full of rich flavor, and the toppings didn't feel like an after thought in terms of quality. The rolls are a generous portion and there's enough different choices to suit anybody, with some being more and less Americanized. The laid back atmosphere is quite welcoming and the worth mentioning lower price point make this an incredible value that really doesn't miss on taste!

First time coming here and I LOVED IT!!! The food was so delicious, service was amazing and the time between waiting for our meals took no time Big recommend

Came here for lunch on a Friday around noon; no issue getting a table (it's a small spot) but there were several other tables filled, so a popular spot. We each had ramen; I got the tonkotsu and found it nicely flavored. I appreciated that they allow lots of customization - I made mine spicy with added chili oil which was delicious. Pricing is really fair, especially compared to other ramen spots around town. Parking - large lot shared with other businesses in the shopping center

I ordered sushi on this visit. It was pretty good. I got this popular Miyabi roll. And we got some vegetable tempura. My friend ordered the tokansu ramen. We enjoyed all the food! Perfect on this chilly fall day. The dinning room is small but has plenty of seating. There are a few spots at the bar as well. The service was good and efficient. I'd definitely come back!

Miyabi is your typical neighborhood sushi and ramen spot. Located on Washington and Studemont in a shopping center. Plenty of parking out front. The menu is slightly overwhelming with the amount of different rolls and ramen options; it's a bit busy. Compared to almost every other dine in sushi spot, the value proposition is here. The ramen and sushi rolls are very reasonably priced for 2025; pricing is right above HEB sushi rolls and below everybody else. We got some sashimi, nigiri, split a tonkotsu ramen bowl, and some rolls. The sashimi and nigiri was on the weaker side. The portions were fairly large but it feels like the quality isn't quite on the level of the higher end spots. The ramen is decent; nothing crazy but a good bowl for the price. The sushi rolls are your typical fusion style rolls; most were solid even though there are a lot of overlap between the rolls in terms of sauces and ingredients. The only roll that wasn't great was the beef filled cowboy roll, which had fairly overcooked meats. The interior is clean and played some very interesting Japanese nightcore music. Overall, the value is 4/5, flavor is 3.5/5, and for a local neighborhood Japanese spot, this is probably one of the better options inside the loop.

Was hungry for some sushi and this place was recommended. The restaurant is quite small but very nicely decorated with Asian culture. I ordered the combo it was delicious and plenty of food. If you're ordering at lunch be sure to ask for the lunch special. I'm guessing the waitress forgot to give us a menu. Anyways was educated the nice man next to me. Lunch special is around $13 and mine was $28. The sushi's was great and fish was fresh tasting. My only complaint is some of pieces of sushi were falling apart.

I loved having dinner at Miyabi, it's my kind of place: simple, friendly, unpretentious, good food, clean and reasonably priced. The Tonkatsu ramen was in spot that night!

Cute place with lots of inventive roll options. We love both the sushi and the ramen. We always get a soft shell crab roll and some different rolls with salmon. The raw fish tastes fresh and everything is flavorful. They have large rolls and good pricing for the amount of food. Usually there is a lot of parking in the shopping center.

4 rolls at 8-12 bucks each,

Portion sizes are smaller than advertised. It says 7 pc on menu but it presents as like 3 pieces of a normal roll. It should be 20 bucks not 50 bucks I might as well go to heb

Manhattan roll -with whole kani(not chopped) add cream cheese and jalapeño

Yah B to Miyabi!!! Yes to the Manhattan & Shaggy Dog rolls! I ate the manhattan which had pepper tuna and avocado on top and kani & shrimp tempura inside. I customized the manhattan asked for NOT chopped kani (whole kani crab) and I added two things-cream cheese and jalapeño. I got a side of spicy ponzu. Actually two sides. We dropped some sake bombs! Don't tell your mom. Yummy!!!

I've eaten here a handful of times but it was all take out until dinner last night. The take out was always just okay but we continue to choose this spot because of its convenience. Last night we dined in the restaurant and had a great meal. My husband's ramen was flavored well with a thick, hearty, and spicy broth. He asked for extra noodles so he could finish it all off. I got the tuna and avocado roll which was fresh tasting and the Mt. Fuji roll which is baked, it was warm and flavorful. After this last experience I think we will frequent this place more often. The prices are decent too!

I was very surprised. And my broth was so delicious. It had such a rich umami flavor due to the miso & I thought the spice level was perfect. Honestly - I could eat jhst that broth for a whole meal. Unlike buldak or some other spicy ramens - the main selling point wasn't the spice. You could get an additional "spice bomb" if you wanted some more heat. The ramen toppings were good but not outstanding - same with the noodles. I thought the "mi-so-hot" was easily 3x better than "the og". The broth in "the og" was pretty interesting and more unique tasting. It felt like the main notes were just umami, pork, and oil. Not bad, but felt like it was missing a little something to make it truly good. If I had just got the OG, I'd rate this place a bit lower - but as it stands I'd 100% come back here for the "mi-so-hot" The interior was pretty nice. It was more "communal style seating" with a couple of big tables. There is also some smaller booths. It's an "order at the counter" type restaurant as well. I saw several comments about parking & was a bit concerned when driving over. I know that part of westheimer is always packed! But there is an attached parking lot & at 3pm on a Sunday, there was plenty of parking! Also - there is some street parking in the neighborhood north of the shop. Overall - will 100% be coming back for some more spicy ramen. Would recommend

The sweet aftertaste was definitely worthwhile. - Shrimp - Not as fresh as I would have liked, as someone who's eaten a lot of shrimp, but I still liked the taste. Still, pretty mediocre. Tantan Tsukemen - Very interesting broth. Potent, salty, and full of bold flavor. My friend swapped the pork for chicken, and the chicken worked really well with the broth. They serve the chicken as a cold cut. This is a double-noodle dish with a soy milk-based dipping sauce. I normally would have ordered this because I LOVE tantan ramen, but I had to forgo it for the limited-time Creamy Truffle Ramen. Creamy Truffle Ramen - LOVED the broth. It was very light and creamy. I actually liked this a lot more than tonkotsu ramen. The truffle wasn't too overwhelming--just mild enough to hint at its flavor without becoming the only flavor profile you get. Truffle is like baking with rose water; finding that balance is quite hard. I will admit the whole table smelled like truffles, though. The torched king oyster mushroom paired wonderfully with the dish, and the broccolini was an equally interesting topping choice. I also found bits of melted Parmesan throughout the ramen, which the menu listed as an ingredient. The egg wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was still a decent soy egg. As I kept eating, the truffle oil became more intense, and the fattiness started to get a bit overwhelming without washing it down with water. Great flavor overall, but I think this dish is best paired with an appetizer to help cut through the richness. One of my favorite things about this place, which my BF mentioned, was the noodle texture. I noticed it too as I ate--a good bite with a slick texture that was just starchy enough to cling to the broth. We had leftover noodles from the Tantan Tsukemen at the end of the meal and ended up using the Creamy Truffle broth as a dipping sauce. Honestly, no regrets. The cold noodles didn't work quite as well in this dish, but the broth was definitely a banger. This was also the first ramen broth I couldn't finish but desperately wanted to bring home. (Obviously, I did.) Their to-go containers are surprisingly sleek, too. It's a weird thing to compliment, but I almost wanted to keep the container as much as the broth. Special comment on the utensils here--the soup spoons are ridiculously cute! Would love to have a similar set at home. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was thoughtful. The music wasn't too loud, and it wasn't that crowded for a Saturday night. They do play a lot of popular Japanese songs, so if you're an international music enthusiast, you'll appreciate hearing "Mayonaka no Door" by Miki Matsubara.

Food arrived very quickly, though we ordered no appetizers. The tonkotsu broth was rich and velvety in texture, but more like a mild umami in flavor. The chashu pork was pale, but melt in your mouth buttery and bursting with savory pork goodness! The marinated egg wasn't brought up to temperature with the broth -- a little cooler than room temperature, with a medium oozy yolk. It felt like the marinade penetrated all through to the yolk -- it was great! I welcomed the novel choice to use red onion over the usual scallions. It was a nice touch of color and brought in that bright, juicy onion flavor that I crave. Noodles were perfect texture. Not too hard or mushy. This bowl feels made to focus on the broth and flavor and not so much an instagram post. Delicious!! My only complaint was a very very very slight bitterness in the background. I couldn't pin where it was coming from. Maybe that's a risk of simmering bones for so long. I'll keep this short because I couldn't just eat my moms bowl... The Yuzu shio broth was clearer, with bright, citrusy, and savory body. The bamboo shoots were golden (grilled?) with a little snap to it. Reminds me of a king oyster mushroom.
