In a nice girls night with my friends, we stopped in this restaurant for dinner. The ambiance is clean, modern and casual. The service is nice and fast. The food is delicious! The pita bread is fluffy and tasty. Also the falafel, very filling and not heavy. The salmon was delicious. Just they serve the food in a recyclable plates and silverware. I miss the real dish. Good place to go in your fun night around.

Disgusting food quality and taste. This rtestaraunt has nothing related to Israeli or even to Mediterranean kitchen. Please see attached photos. Look at the color of "israeli" cucumbers and I wish you never will try it. They also use a liquid smoke seasoning to make food tastes like after the grill. It's disgusting feeling in your mouth after it and that feels really bad. Respect yourself, money and energy. Never again!!!!!

The food was fresh and well seasoned! The staff were professional and friendly. The neutral and earthy colors gave a calming atmosphere.

Mizlala is soo good. I like all the proteins except for the chicken ones. Falafel is super crispy but soft in the middle. Kefta is flavorful and not gamey if you are worried about the lamb. Fish kebob (salmon) is my favorite! I can eat the whole plate in one sitting. Hummus, fries and crispy broccoli are great sides. This is more of a take out spot since even the dine in plating is to go type of boxes. Very easy clean up since you only need to grab a lid and bag when you leave.

Wow! These sandwiches are massive--and absolutely delicious. The falafel is done right: crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. The chicken, all dark meat, is generously layered with three distinct fillings. The top is fresh and leafy, the middle features a bright cucumber-tomato-tahini mix, and the bottom has a savory blend of sautéed green and white veggies--possibly green pepper or cactus with onions. Whatever it was, it worked. That said, eating it was a bit of a challenge. The size made it tricky to hold, and midway through, it became a bit of a mess--tough to finish in one sitting without sacrificing some to the trash. The dining room is on the colder side and could use some feng shui adjustments for comfort. The staff was kind and checked in on us, which was a nice touch. One oddity: the pickled veggie garnishes arrived quickly, but the main dishes took quite a while. Mizlala might want to either speed up food prep or make the dining space more inviting if there's going to be a wait.

The food is decent, presented well, and service is good, but I wouldn't rate this place beyond 3 stars for the following reasons: (1) wasn't worth the price - Mediterranean food is supposed to be quality eats for inexpensive rates; (2) cleanliness of the establishment is wanting; (3) if you're serving alcohol, the hours between 4-6 should be happy hour pricing; (4) wine served in plastic cups along with overpriced food is tacky; (5) too much sauciness in the pita - made the entire sandwich fall apart while eating.

    Pita falafel sandwich yummy.

YES. I just walked in just after they opened up. The staff was happy and created me as well. First time here. My understanding is they been here for four years now and I have been driving by twice a week without know this. Ok let get back to the food. I ordered a Pita Falafel with Ice tea. OMG the Falafel and Pita or how I remember it should be. Tast and look off the hook definitely coming back at least 1 a week and bring friend and family.

Fantastic. Hidden high-quality casual mediterranean restaurant. And it's delicious. Ordered the falafel platter with fries. Falafels had a nice crunchy firm exterior with a perfect green hue core. Fries were crunchy and seasoned perfectly. Big flavor here. Some of the best fries. Would come here again.

This was so delicious, really cute patio, and huge portions. I got the fish salad and they gave me 3 pieces of salmon! It tasted so fresh and nourishing. We ordered the fries and oyster mushrooms to share and the sauuuuuce for the mushrooms was so creamy and the mushrooms were cooked perfectly with a little bit of char which I love.

Food 5/5: every single time I order from them - whether in person or take out, food tastes SO GOOD... Whatever we order it hits the spot each time. You really need to try this hidden gem. Service 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 good for dates or hangouts. It also has a parking spot behind the restaurant.

If dining in, does this Sycamore location offer all the same dishes as the other locations? I'm seeing a Fried Chicken and a Short Rib Tagine on the other locations menu -- but NOT seeing them on the Sycamore location menu online...?

They had utensils, napkins, and sauces with containers while you wait. I ordered the falafel bowl and pali salad in case the bowl itself wasn't enough. It did take longer than the other orders but once I got it, we sat outside where they had a few tables and chairs. The bowl looked fresh and vibrant, so many colors and a decent amount of falafel. I tried their white and mazbout sauces on the salad. I'm glad it had spinach as it helped reduce water from seeping out. The falafel was slightly spicy since I am terrible with spic r tolerance but the sauce made it very balanced. I also got to try someone's fries and it was super delicious, the spices they used on the fries were flavorful and the fried were very crispy and smooth inside. Overall, very nice quick lunch, we arrived before they opened right at 12pm and avoided the lunch rush! Very affordable prices as well.

It was good, not great. I also had the veggie shawarma. I won't get that again. It was mushy, and when I go for that dish, I'm not trying to be healthy. I guess if I were vegan for principled reasons, I might appreciate that more....... It was one and done for me. Shout out to the workers there. It was Ce and Michelle. Well, to start off, I must admit I drove by this place about 10 times before I finally went in. All…read morethose times, I never saw people inside. Which I understand why. I finally went in today and sadly, was not only disappointed, my fantasy of Falafel King was destroyed forever. I know Benito used to work for Falafel King, but this place is nothing like it. The service was horrible. The guy behind the little counter was not nice at all. In fact he was rude. And didn't like if you asked him questions. But that aside, sitting in this little tiny restaurant was not a good feeling. We were the only ones there. They have a seating area outside, I'm guessing for overflow - yet, the table and chairs were right there in the middle of the restaurant. Piled up. They didn't even bother to take it outside. Put all that aside - we get to the food. One of the best things Falafel King has were the "chips", which were battered slices of potatoes that were deep fried. These were slices of potato, they were potato chips. Thin. No "meat" on them, if you know what I mean. And sadly, they were fried either early this morning or last night. Terrible, cold, hard, no taste - not even salt. We move on the falafel - which tasted good. The taste of the falafel itself was good, but the oil dripping down my hand an face was not. I blame that on the oil not being hot enough when he put the falafel into the oil. Next, the actual shwarma is not really shwarma (like you all know it). There was no revolving slab of meat where the fat melts into the meat and makes it so so special. No. This was a little baggy of already cooked meat with no spices on it thrown on the plancha and heated up. Hard and tasteless. Very disappointing. I picked it out of my pita and ate the salad with tehina and spicy eggplant (which WAS tasty). The pita is also a thin hard pita - not the nice fluffy type. I didn't finish my food, and my friend didn't finish the food, as you can see in the pictures. Sorry to give it a 1 - but to say you have ANY connection to "Falafel King" is a disgrace. Sorry if I sound brutal. I tell it like it is.

Out server Emily was a delight. So friendly and accommodating (and thanks again for the Baklava!) We had the lamb shwarma plate and the fried chicken plate, both with hummus. Also a side of the Za'atar/sumac fries. Fries came out first PIPING hot, crispy, seasoned perfectly nom nom. The entrees quickly followed. The lamb was so tender and juicy and bursting with flavor. And the fried chicken was AMAZING. Shwarma that is breaded with an amazing mixture and fried. Genius! The plates also came with hummus topped with whole chickpeas (YUM), dilled rice, a cabbage salad and other greens, grilled pita bread, olives and my personal favorite, pickled radishes. Many reviews describe them as beets (which I also love) but these are radishes and they pair so well with the rich meat. An umami bomb! Portions HUGE (we have a full meal waiting in the fridge) and prices very reasonable. Patio is a very fun hang with pretty lights. My only knock is on the chairs which are not exactly "comfy." But that's a trivial issue. Service was attentive and staff so friendly and helpful. I can't remember Emily's colleague's name but shout out to her and her Rasputin's shirt (yay Berkeley vibes.) Could be because it was Sunday and there was a Farmers Market nearby, but still something to consider. We ordered the Lamb Plate ($26). Portion was solid and the plate is actually pretty interesting -- lots of different sides (flatbread, greens, olives, pickled turnips, etc.), so it doesn't feel boring. That said, the lamb itself was just a few small pieces and it was ground. I would've preferred more actual meat Tried the rosemary lemonade too, but didn't really taste any rosemary. Just a regular lemonade, slightly sweet and sour. Also you pay upfront right after ordering. We sat outside on a small patio facing Glendale Blvd. It's a tight space, and at one point someone from the street was walking around nearby talking to themselves, which made the experience a bit less comfortable. Staff was friendly and service was quick though, no issues there. Also, no public restroom, so keep that in mind. Overall, not bad. I was hungry, so I finished everything pretty fast, but it didn't really stand out enough for me to make a special trip again.

I finally had the chance to stop in for a solo early dinner, but unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to my expectations. I ordered the Lule Kabob Combo ($22), which included skewers of minced beef and chicken, rice, veggies, pita, hummus, and a side salad. The highlights of the meal were definitely the salad and the grilled tomato; the pomegranate seeds in the rice were also a nice touch. However, the meats weren't to my taste--the chicken had an odd aftertaste, and while the beef was better, neither really worked for me. Adding the provided sumac and lemon helped, but I wouldn't order the kebabs again. Additionally, the hummus lacked creaminess, and the pita tasted like it was mass-produced rather than fresh. On the positive side, the portion sizes are very generous for the price point, and I left feeling full. I also have to mention that the patio is adorable and very "Instagrammable," so it's a great spot if you're looking for a photo-friendly environment. A quick note for future visitors: they are currently having issues with their card reader and are requesting cash or Zelle. It felt a little unusual to be rung up on a register only to pay via Zelle, but it wasn't a major deal. While I appreciated the atmosphere and value, the food itself just wasn't for me, so I likely won't be returning.
