The portion sizes at Navat are no joke. I was trying to look at pictures of the gyros and I thought they looked small, so I decided to order a bowl. My friends ordered the gyro. To my surprise, both were huge. They don't skimp on the meat either. I ordered the mix bowl which came with beef, lamb, rice, lettuce, tomato and their sauce. All the flavors blended well together. The meat was well seasoned, tender and flavorful. The gyros were delicious too. I will definitely be coming back for more! Service was great! We received our orders quickly. There are some seating inside the store. Parking can be difficult since it's located on a busy street. There is a small parking lot but that lot gets busy. I went to the restaurant and ordered off their kiosk because that was the only way to order.. I augmented my order and instead of the gentlemen making my order correctly they added all the things I asked not to include...though I offered to explain and I was assured they understood- I can't have tomatoes due to a nightshade allergy and yep you guessed it chocked full of tomatoes no cucumbers or any greenery its as if they did the exact opposite... Its awful when a customer cannot receive the food they order and pay for and even leave a tip. The double smash cheeseburger was excellent -- crispy edges, juicy beef, perfectly melted cheese, and great flavor overall. One of the better halal smash burgers I've had in LA. The beef rice pilaf was comforting and rich. The beef was tender, the rice was fluffy and fragrant, and the seasoning was just right. A solid, hearty dish done properly. The standout for me was the Boss Lagman -- bold flavors, generous portions, and perfectly cooked noodles. The sauce had depth, the beef was plentiful, and everything came together beautifully. It's strategically placed as a lot of its core demographic inhabits the surrounding areas. 1st dine in -- Ordered the chicken pressed wrapped. It was very tasty. And the half-wrap was enough to keep my belly full at $12.99. Good deal. Shawama was juicy and the wrapped had a well-defined grill mark. Contents held together. Sauce not so overwhelming, complimenting the taste of the meats. 2nd dine in -- Ordered the gyro. I wasn't a fan of this one. This came out to above 17 dollars and it was served a la carte. The difference in sizing was almost nonexistent to the half of the chicken wrap, but you don't really get a choice to order the 'half-portion.' Meat wasn't as seasoned as well as the chicken. The recommended sauce option for the gyro obliterated my ability to really get a firm feel for its deliciousness unfettered. I tried several times to get a kebab at this place, and each time I had a negative experience: * one evening it was already too late, * another evening they had run out of beef, * another time they were closing at 3 AM even though the posted hours said 4 AM. On one occasion, I entered and found a worker with dirty hands. Instead of washing them, as required by health regulations, he simply changed his gloves. Then he handled the chicken with his bare hands and covered it with an excessive amount of sauce. The food was so unpleasant that I had to throw it away. It was medium sized and filling. It comes with French fries inside but I prefer it without, so had it left off. They also offer free hot tea. Customer service is good. Not your chatty, cheery over-the-top service but pleasant, quick, and accurate. Two minor improvement suggestions: heavy on the sauce (and I love heavy sauce). Maybe a bit less would be good.
