One more thing to add. They slice the bread into two separate layers which is perfect for reheating. Take off the outer layer and reheat it in the microwave (just so it softens up). Wrap the innards in aluminum foil and reheat in the toaster oven to your desired crispness. Then rewrap the innards with the outer bread layer that's been softened and enjoy. This really helps if you have fries inside. No one likes soggy fries. Love their chill vibe and great service even to the delivery people. Saw them warn several Ubereats drivers ahead of time that a particular order will take a long time to complete which gave them a choice to wait or take on another order. That particular order had 4 different drivers attempt to pickup until the final driver was willing to wait 20 minutes for the order. Found a new appreciation for the delivery people. Tip them. It looks like multiple people have gotten sick from this location, though the manager insists that this has never happened and they all seem to have had the same experience, which is that the supervisor did not apologize at all . Utilized this restaurant for a catering and had an absolutely awful experience when we made the complaint of over 20+ individuals getting sick with a stomach flu, and the manager of the location got extremely defensive instead of offering apologies. He tried finding every possible rationale to indicate that his restaurant did not make us sick and was offended that such a serious allegation was made. The restaurant insisted that it had to be the breakfast or dinner, even though all of the folks that got sick did not have the exact same meals for breakfast or dinner, but they all had lunch from this venue. Half of the group does not work at the same place and we all came together specifically to have THIS lunch so there is no way that we all had something for breakfast or dinner that made us sick. This is also a doctor's office that focuses specifically on infectious diseases. So, he can try and fool other idiots, but not us. To top it off, he decides to make this claim that there is no way his perfect A+ FDA rating would allow for this. All that simply has to be done is to make an apology and take some form of accountability but to completely write off over 20+ people being extremely sick with diarrhea, vomiting, and nausea is ridiculous. I used to live close by years ago when this place opened. I remember it being way better! The chicken is very small portion, but extremely greasy and fatty (such low quality meat)! They used to give two fluffy delicious pieces of naan. They included one piece of naan and it was flat, stale and gross. The salad was the best thing. Ive heard about how good this place is, and how much better it is than Zankou. I went here on the way back from visiting the Petersen before I crossed over the hill back to the valley. This place is certainly way better than Zankou. I ordered a half chicken/beef schawarma large wrap with 2 sides and a can of soda. It was around 22 bucks, so kind of average price for this food. The wrap was large and properly cooked outside with all the fillings and garlic sauce. I had a "greek" salad on the side and hummus. Salad was good but could have used feta. The hummus was good too but not earth shattering. It was a fine side. The shawarma quality was very good, and better than many places I've had in LA and Hollywood. I still think there are some better shawarmas, but the value and authenticity were good, and this place has been around for a while for a reason. Id probably try other things if I was in the area again and wanting middle eastern food. Is it worth going from the valley over the hill to eat? Probably not. If you are a Hollywood local its worthy of a weekly or more repeat eat. Certainly go there if you are on Sunset blvd and dont want to overspend on something pretentious and better than Zankou down the road for the same price. read more

This is a nice little middle eastern restaurant, with very good food. I placed an order to go for a kafta kabab sandwich with a side of falafel. I paid with a credit card but, since it was a takeout, I didn't leave a tip. The person who charged me said "no tip?", and I answered " I never leave a tip for a to go order. We meet the owners during an outing and got on the topic of food. I LOVE Mediterranean food, had some of the best and authentic when I was stationed overseas and some great deployment. While we live in Simi, the drive was more than worth it! The staff is great, friendly, and engaging. The food, of the food. I have had a lot of beef kabobs, but the meat here is exceptionally tender, and the flavor, omg! The FLAVOR. The Chicken Shawarma Wrap was amazing, too. The pitas were soft and just as I remembered from my travels, the cabbage in the wrap was flavored perfectly, and just delicious. Now... they have Greek Fries, and this is something new to us and glad we ordered them... DELICIOUS! One thing we noticed is that no matter who came in, it felt like they were welcoming family, including the three LAPD officers who came in for lunch. Oh, and I loved Zankou Chicken for years, but they have NOTHING, I mean NOTHING on Al Basch's chicken, hummus, or any of their other food!!!
