Honestly, I love the set up of the restaurant. It's got a cozy feel to it, the seating is great for large groups, and the lighting is really nice. Also, the waiters are really enthusiastic and kind. They seem so happy and it made me excited to try the sushi. Now, I only had the Philadelphia rolls while my little brother had the California rolls. We both thought that the sushi tasted good, not as good as some other spots that we've been to, but it serves its job as sushi. Good sushi if you are looking for good and not earth shattering. The restaurant is on the small side, very clean and had 1 waitress who seemed to have things under control. We weren't starving so we skipped appetizers and went right to the sushi. You can see from my picture that we got salmon skin hand rolls which is my barometer at a sushi place. It was very good, not too crispy so that you think it is going to break your teeth and not limp, just in between and that was good enough for us. We also got tamago, sweet potato roll and a roll with mango and shrimp. All good! We got super fruit teas that were so sweet it actually hurt to drink it but did work as an advantage because we ended up mixing them with full glasses of water so we had more tea. Went to for lunch the other day. Place is pretty crowded. They have good lunch specials. Small like only 8-10 tables top. I had the sashimi special and told them I didn't want rice so they didn't even put rice in my tuna roll, which I was so grateful for. They gave us extra ginger which I love. When you first come in here, you feel the heat so immediately you want to enter and stay to get out of the cold. Waiters are friendly, they don't push you in ordering quickly even though we came in late. Staff of three were even patiently waiting for us to finish up, they didn't push us even though we were the last table and they left immediately when we did. Food was fresh and beautifully presented. I have been here before and never had an issue. So much confusion trying to order sushi and yakisoba. When i went to pick up the food i checked my order to make sure it was correct. There was a kid working and i said i didnt order the seafood ramen and he says well thats what you ordered. I said i got yakisoba not ramen and proceeded to ring me up. I had to ask another person to make sure its correct. They are totally two different dishes. When i got home the sushi is just okay. Working a bit late and needed dinner. I've passed this place numerous times...it was overdue to try! I chose the Sake Roll. The Sake Roll included spicy salmon, avocado, and topped with salmon. It was delicious and fresh! Very enjoyable and filling. The roll was cut into 8 pieces. I also ordered a seaweed salad. It was just subpar. Nothing overly special and nothing to brag about. It was also very liquidy. I've had numerous seaweed salads, and I've never had one as liquidy as this one. Came here for dinner after shopping at Tanger outlet center at Deer Park and as we were waiting patiently for a server, I started to think we should have gone someplace else. Don't get me wrong, we were seated just as we were walking in the door but after being seated .. it was like no one noticed we had no menus or drinks or anything else. There was one waiter who saw us while he was giving another table waters who I thought was going to at least give us menus ... I thought wrong. He actually went to wipe down the table right next to us and asked us if it was only 3 of us, which we said, 'yes'. He finished wiping down the table and then gave us menus and utensils. We sat for a good 7 minutes before another server noticed that we were just sitting there, twirling our fingers. She asked if we wanted anything to drink and when we told her we were actually ready to order, she happily obliged. We ordered the sweet potato tempura appetizer, sushi pizza with tuna, spicy salmon salad, house special yaki (ramen) and a sweetheart roll. -Sweet potato tempura ... very good, not greasy and had a great crunch. Would order again. -Sushi pizza with tuna ... slices of tuna over seaweed salad on top of a scallion pancake. Decently sliced tuna but the seaweed salad was way too much to the point where the crispy scallion pancake top was soggy. Would definitely not order again. -Spicy salmon salad ... ok, this was my fault, I should have looked on Yelp to see what it actually looked like. When I see 'salad' on a menu, I'm assuming at least lettuce and tomato. Well, I assumed wrong! What I got was a little ball of spicy salmon with panko surrounded by thin slices of avocado, drizzled with spicy mayo. When I say little ball of spicy salmon, I mean little ball. It was the same size of the soy sauce dish you use for sushi!! Not worth the $11 I was charged. On the list of definitely not ordering again. -House special yaki (ramen) ... husband said it was good. It's a noodles stir fry with veggies and proteins (shrimp and pork). He said he'd order it again. -Sweetheart roll .. spicy tuna and avocado roll topped with tuna, shaped into a heart. Found this restaurant in a plaza of the Texas Roadhouse! A pretty small restaurant, but you can get a nice sushi dinner here. Party of 7 and a baby, we ordered a lot of appetizers as well as sushi. I don't recommend big parties, but groups of 4 would do just fine. Sushi: The fish and the rice of the nigiri is well-balanced, the chef is generous on the fish portion, if you'd been craving chewy, delicious sushi, you can get it here! They have 2 pages on the menu of their specialty rolls, we've tried the Green Dragon Roll (Eel & Avocado) and the Lucky 7 (Fried Spicy Salmon) Roll. Delicious! I would order again, perhaps togo? The waitress here are knowledgeable about the menu. They helped in ordering a combo menu that is cheaper when we kind of lost our thoughts and started ordering randomly.. lol It wasn't so family-friendly when the both waitress started drinking with the gentlemen seated at the bar. Ordered shumai to start followed by Vegetable gyoza. I'm so incredibly conditioned to differentiate veggie with green and pork with white wrappers.... my "vegetable" gyoza came out but call me a skeptic.... picked it apart and thought what I saw was pork.... inquired and told by many staffers that it was "mushroom". To start, even though this is a 3 star review, this is not by any means a bad place - just not up to expectations. I swung by here after shopping at Tanger outlets nearby and was craving warm soup after all that air conditioning from the mall. Also, the thought of sushi was tempting. So i ended up ordering a salmon roll as well as clear clam soup since i wasn't starving. Honestly i had low expectations to start with because food near shopping malls are usually places with low bars of standard. However i was pleasantly surprised by some aspects! Clam soup - it initially reeked of sesame oil when i got it. Physical ingredients in the soup included carrots, zucchini, and of course clam (with shells). Not exactly my idea of a traditional asian clam soup. Carrots and zucchini were still really crunchy, indicating they were freshly put in. The shelled clams were extremely soft, which was a huge plus. Upon finishing the soup, i found two dried clams at the bottom, which was a pleasant surprise. With Chinese or Japanese cooking, dried clams add umami to soups. That being said, this is a good (and slightly overpriced) soup but i think the simple label of clam soup is misleading. Salmon roll - i was initially put off by how small it was. After 2 bites i understood why: the ratio was perfect. The 1:1 sushi rice to salmon ratio really made me smile. Still if the portion was a little bigger, that would've been better. They used actual sushi rice and it didn't fall apart! Score! The fish tasted good - not hyper fresh but still good. The decor was standard. It was labor day holiday so seeing the place fully staffed was nice. I read other reviews that Pad Thai was terrible. What people need to understand is that this is a Japanese cuisine. Pad Thai is a......*drumroll* Thailand dish. Asking for pad thai here is akin to asking an american diner for canadian poutine. Please do your research and know what to expect. I noticed this place had a "great for dates" suggestion and I would like to say unless your date is blind this probably wouldn't be the best option if you're hoping for a second date. The inside is run down and in desperate need of some TLC. When in the area if a sushi craving strikes this is a pretty reliable option for a few rolls to go. Mizuki is Japanese for "beautiful." The restaurant has a gorgeous navy blue wall with sparkles mixed in the paint and a drawing of the NYC skyline. It's very pretty. We started with drinks. Sake for him, the plum wine for me. My boyfriend started the conversation by saying he didn't know anything about sake and was ordering solely based on menu flavor description. I ordered the plum wine, listed as a sweet white wine. We were brought out a chilled bottled of sake and a glass of the plum wine - a deep shade of plum. I don't like sake to begin with, so I won't comment on the taste. My boyfriend was extremely annoyed; he wanted a warm sake and would have ordered differently if he had known the one we ordered was a cold one. I think the waitress should have confirmed that a cold bottle was okay before opening and serving it. I was initially annoyed that my sweet white ended up a red, but the wine was actually really good. We ordered pork gyozas (dumplings) to start. They came out soon after being ordered. I was surprised at how tiny they were- Little bite-sized things as opposed to larger, meatier ones at other Japanese establishments. I took this as a positive, that they were likely home-made if they were made that small. Next we ordered a bunch of sushi. We did the OMG roll (shrimp tempura roll with a thin piece of steak on top), the Foxy Lady roll (calamari, spicy salmon and papaya), a plain tuna roll and a spicy shrimp roll. I thought that OMG was delicious. Absolutely worthy of its name in terms of taste and unique-ness. The Foxy Lady has a strange after-taste to it and I wondered if the papaya was fresh. The tuna roll had a clean taste, and the spicy shrimp was warm and crunchy. 3 out of 4 solid choices. We also ordered hibachi style chicken fried rice, but the rice was bland and boring. Not hibachi-tasting at all. Even drowning the rice in soy sauce couldn't help. For dessert we tried the mango mousse cake. I understand that some desserts are meant to be served chilled. The cake was served still frozen. I could actually feel chunks of ice in my mouth after struggling the cut it. The mango was definitely not fresh at all. The service at Mizuki was pretty awful given the fact that there were three waitresses with maybe two tables each. We were sat at a table with an empty soy sauce jar, and the waitress didn't notice at all. We ended up taking a full bottle from an empty table. We had no silverware and no water. Overall, Mizuki is underwhelming. The sushi was good, but 87 dollars is a lot for sushi in a strip mall next to the deer park outlets. The poor service and I fresh fruit make Mizuki feel a bad first date - pretty to look at it, but no spark or reason to see them ever again. read more

Ordered 6 rolls and all packed into 2 small trays, no wonder they all fit cuz it was missing a roll and all the rolls were tiny. Called them to let them know they short us one roll, but the lady wouldn't want to admit it. She kept saying the rolls fit into 2 small trays perfectly so in her mind that is exactly 6 rolls. No matter what I said, she just wouldn't admit it. And it's really not about being short the one roll, they can freakin keep the stinking MINIATURE roll. I was getting a little hangry after some shopping at the outlets up the road, so I had googled sushi near me and this was the first place that popped up, decided to give it a go based on its reviews. Let me tell you something, this was probably the best and freshest sushi I have ever eaten. Mizuki is a nondescript, neighborhood sushi that won't offend if you're shopping in the Deer Park outlets. I'll admit it. I didn't have high expectations, at all. ALL of the fish was fresh and looked good, prices were completely reasonable and the service was on point. Everyone loves the sweet presentation and plating as well. They do serve "white tuna" which, if you look it up, could be anything. I didn't inquire when I ordered but I suspect it was Escolar as I did have a slightly upset stomach an hour after dinner. Would avoid that one. The Interior for some reason reminded me of early 2000's pop-stars. Looks newer but cheap as lights were flickering and the walls needed some repainting. There was no one in the place and after 5 minutes the kid went in the back to get a women. When she came out I asked for a menu and she aggressively handed me one. I frequent this place pretty regularly, or mostly for lunch on pay days, since it's right by my office. They offer great lunch specials at a perfect lunch special price. My favorite is the 2 roll combo which comes with a miso soup and a house salad. They have a wide variety of rolls you can get (tuna/avocado; salmon/cucumber; sweet potato roll; spicy this roll, spicy that roll, etc..) You can order by stopping in and you'll only wait about 10-15 mins but during lunch time they're pretty busy so we usually opt to order online and then pick up. If you don't feel like going out, you can always have them deliver and they make good time! If you choose to dine in, the resturant itself is pretty small but there always seems to be room at the bar if you're alone or with another person. I like the ambiance of the resturant also, little bit of that japanese flair. It's been a little while since I've gotten lunch from here so guess what I'm eating on Friday! read more
