    Chickpea Salad
    Emilyn A.

So glad I got to try this deli out! I ordered an everything bagel with lox and the chickpea salad. Everything was so fresh and flavorful, and the service was wonderful as well. There isn't a lot of seating indoors but there are a few tables outside, so probably best to get the food to go if you're able to.

Quick service, cute little spot, BIG & meaty sandwiches. I loved the Calabrian Mayo! Worth a stop.

Writing this review because 1) their sandwiches and potato salad are incredible and 2) the staff are the kindest people ever!! They mailed my bag back to me when I lost it! Diving into the details 1) I ordered the New Yorker sub and it was STACKED! The sandwich is so big that I I shared it with my partner and it was plenty. The best part of the meal though was their potato salad. The seasonings and flavor were very stand out. The potatoes were the perfect texture too! I loved it and would highly recommend! The entire meal was perfect for a hot day. 2) I lost my reusable bag here when visiting Ojai and was honestly pretty sad about it. I figured I should just call and see if I left it at the deli. Sure enough it was there and the staff was super kind to ship it back to me along with a sticker! THANK YOU SO MUCH MU'S DELI. I will be back next time I visit Ojai

Surprise surprise, another perfect sandwich. Idk what else to say, if you aren't getting your sandwiches here you're doing it wrong.

    Triple decker club

Stopped by over the weekend as we wanted something quick that we could take to the park while enjoying the nice weather. Cute shop with some tables inside and out. Service was quick and the cashier was really welcoming. Ordered the Triple Decker Club and it was great! Very fresh and came with a pickle. Lots of meat too. Definitely recommend.

I asked for a sub in a tub and they hooked me up! It was delicious and came out quick! Very causal sandwich shop for a quick fix in downtown Ojai. Staff was very polite as well.

It was to good i forgot to take the picture

Good sandwiches. Good selections. A little pricey but so is everything in Ojai and I've never regretted eating here. Good pickles too.

They do a soft close from 2-5 where they don't serve the food menu but offer drinks, coffee and pastries. We stopped in on the 4th of July and were seated right away. They also have a coffee and pastry counter if you want to grab something to-go. You do not want to miss out on the pastries, and the display sure catches your eye. Along with our main we split a morning bun which was flaky and just the right amount of sweet. As we were walking out I noticed some sandwiches that looked extra tasty as well. We kept it simple and split the Dutchess Breakfast Plate since we had quite a bit of eating planned for the day, but it was more than enough to satiate us alongside the pastry. It comes with these massive, crispy and spiced potatoes, big slabs of Niman Ranch bacon, tomato chutney, thick-cut sourdough toast and two eggs. At $22 this isn't cheap, but the quality is there and I would order this again just for those potatoes. The Burmese Fried Chicken Sando seemed to be the most popular dish and I was jealous as I saw it hitting other tables. I'll just have to come back!

The Farmer and the Cook -- Fresh Finds Off the Main Road…read more I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect walking in for the first time, but The Farmer and the Cook won me over pretty quickly. It's bright, clean, and has this easy organic warmth to it... the kind of place that feels like it was put together by people who actually care. Right off the main road, easy to find, and the family vibes are real. It's the kind of spot you want to linger in. If you're navigating dietary restrictions, this place is a quiet goldmine. Strong gluten free options, a genuinely vegan friendly menu, and plenty of vegetarian choices too... so everyone at the table actually gets to eat something they're excited about. That's rarer than it should be. The food? Solid. I went with the raw tacos, sopes, and huarache; all filling, all fairly priced for the area. The raw tacos especially surprised me... fresh, flavorful, and not in a "I wish this was a real taco" kind of way. These hold their own. Service was quick and most of the staff had a warm, genuine energy about them. The one small snag; the cashier seemed to be having a rough one. A little gruff, made me feel like my first visit was mildly inconvenient for them. It happens, we all have bad days, but first impressions do stick a little. Overall though, I'm absolutely coming back. There's more on that menu calling my name and an atmosphere that makes it easy to slow down for a bit. Whether you're vegan, gluten free, or just looking for something fresh and honest... this one's worth the stop.

This ended up working out because we had two drinks and sat out at the little fire pits on the lawn and enjoyed those. There were tons of families with kids there for Easter weekend and all the kids were making s'mores at the fire pit, which was cute to watch. We were notified our table was ready at 7:25 which was nice that it wasn't later. We sat down at a table that wasn't directly under a heater and after a few minutes asked the busser if we could switch to the table next-door. He obliged and moved us to the new table and turned the heater on. We were at the front of the patio and had a gorgeous view, again out over the golf course. The staff were all fantastic. From the hostesses to bussers to wait staff, everyone was highly attentive. Ok well all that is 5 stars for sure, but on to the food. Bread and butter were tasty, the rosemary butter was awesome. Our stomachs were a little bigger than their eyes and we ordered two entrées and FOUR sides. Lamb chops and Rib-eye were both cooked perfection but didn't blow me out of the water (especially for the price). The mashed potatoes were my favorite, perfectly seasoned and buttery smooth. Broccolini was also cooked perfectly, the lemon garnish helped to bring out a little flavor, but I do think it could've used something else, a little pepper or some Parmesan. The Mac N Cheese was good but mild for my taste. A little more of the crumb topping or a dash of salt and pepper would've helped make it pop a little more. Then there was the one big miss, which was the mustard greens. I feel like I've had them before, but I've certainly had many other types of similar greens and they had one single flavor which was extreme bitterness. It was just completely devoid of any other seasoning, salt, acid, SOMETHING, although with how better it was, I'm not sure much could be done. I just can't imagine that was the way it was intended to taste. For dessert, we had the old-fashioned doughnut bread pudding, which had a delicious marionberry ice cream on top and a sharp lemon blueberry compote on the side. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I definitely return to celebrate a special experience although I'd probably be a little more selective on some of my food choices next time.
