After having lunch at the Ojai Pizza Company earlier this year, something occurred to me as I sat there and looked around at all of the jerseys hanging on their walls. I saw some of the G.O.A.T's of the NBA, the NFL, the NHL, and the MLB which were all proudly on display. Hey, Maybe you've heard of 'em... Jordan, Jabbar, Montana, Gretzky, Gehrig Yeah, we all know these Greats and what their individual contributions were to their respective sport/league. Well, after eating the pizza and salad at O.P.C, I can truly say that these jerseys represented more than the players who wore them, but they had a direct correlation to the food that's served here. The overall Pizza is an unstoppable slam dunk just like Michael Jordan would do as he soared through the air with his tongue out. Yeah, The pizza we ordered had the perfect amount of sauce to cheese to toppings ratio and it was the "hook" that kept me wanting more, just like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's Skyhook move that was his secret weapon to scoring big. The secret weapon on our pizza.... The Pineapple!!! Now let's talk about the Greek Salad! Just like Joe Montana was put into the Hall of Fame, the Ojai Pizza Co.'s Greek Salad should be added to the list! Yeah, this Greek Salad was the 'Gretzky' of all Greek Salads. It too should have the same nickname... The Great One! (Because Damn was it a Great One!) Yes, every single bite which had the perfect combination of toppings, and a dressing that sealed the deal; this Greek Salad was the "Iron Horse" side dish that looked as good as Lou Gehrig did in those Yankee Pinstripes and it definitely was a hit out of the park home run that complimented our pie. Located right on Ojai Ave. in the center of town, this little pizza shop knows exactly what they are doing. They are shooting for that W that can win Championships all while securing a W both in our hearts and in our stomachs for all of the love that they are putting into their food. So if you find yourself visiting the quaint little town of Ojai and are in need of a quick, easy, and tasty meal, the Ojai Pizza Co. is definitely the G.O.A.T in the area when it comes to hand-tossed pizzas! read more

I got the club sandwich today and it was great. It's not cheap but they pile it high with meat and goodies. I got the foot long (as opposed to the 6") and it had enough for 4 meals! It's massively delicious. We also got a combo pizza which was tempting me with a slice after I finished my sandwich. I love their combo pizza. They load on the toppings. The only disappointment were the meatballs. I expected large meatballs like at other pizza joints but they were small little things, unfortunately. So far, the combo pizza is A+ and craveable to the point that I've had to go back multiple times and the club sandwich is great. Whoa, what a selection of pizzas! Don't get me wrong I love me a nice standard pizza. But what caught my eye here was their specialty selection. I was told you could find some really "unique" pies and flavors and they were right! I couldn't decide so ordered three: the Greek, potato skin and Thai chicken pizzas. WOW! All were good in their own way. Potato skin may have been my favorite and could easily see myself enjoying a football game, eating this pizza and a nice beverage. Sooo good. As far as service goes 5/5 friendly staff. Food: tried the pan pizza with veggies on it. The veggies were fresh. However, the sauce had NO flavor. The bread was very bland. Actually the entire pizza was very bland. The pepperoni was undercooked. It's hard to get pizza wrong but put it this way; we didn't take any leftovers home. Ambiance: the ambiance is loud and has a family vibe to it. There are tvs on the walls. The tables are a little close together. The restrooms were not clean. Had an awful smell. I made a random solo trip out to Ojai and decided to check out this place as I was craving pizza. From the moment I walked in, the staff were super friendly, helpful, and made me feel welcome right away. They gave me great suggestions for both a beer and a pizza. The pizza was delicious, the service was consistent throughout my visit. I really appreciated the fun atmosphere. I especially loved all the framed sports jerseys on the walls, it added a cool touch to the space. Overall, this place is cute, the people are genuinely friendly, and the pizza hit the spot. I came whew with my husband and sister-in-law. I had been to the other location previously which I really enjoyed. I had the small size last time and this time since there were three of us, we got Two pizza. I don't recall if it was the large or extra large. We were the only ones there and probably one more table, but the food took forever. The other thing that I didn't really appreciate is that usually servers would say those are big you know getting a smaller size would be enough for the three of you. That didn't happen at all. I would really have appreciated the server, giving us some information on how big thus slices or the pizza is. This pizza is good, but it's very rich so you get full easily. The most incredibly amazing club sandwich I've ever had in my entire life. No, I'm not exaggerating. We looked at each other in disbelief after the first bite. I would've had a picture, but we honestly ordered it not thinking anything of it at the time. Wasn't until we bit into the sandwich that we discovered what was going on here. I don't know how they normally prepare it. I think we had the garlic bread for the sandwich bread?? Coms- lots of nasty iceberg lettuce in the "mixed greens" base of the Greek salad (see photo) and the veggie pizza was just a big raw salad dumped on top of the pizza that became slightly warm in the oven. Note to all pizza makers - sauté your vegetables before putting them on the pizza. No one wants to eat warm salad on pizza any more than they would want raw pepperoni. Cook them! I like the Ojai Pizza Company. I really do. I like the lunch special; individual pizza with two toppings and a drink for around $11.00. I've been there a dozen times. Pizzas are good and staff is great. I'd give them a solid three or even a four star on their own merit but today's server gets them to a very solid five. I posted a photo. The "pass" between the kitchen and the restaurant is about five feet high! The poor server had to climb a stool every time she had to grab a pizza or a salad. I was there for 20 minutes and saw her do it 15 times! If she works a six hour shift she's basically climbing the stairs in a 60 story building. I couldn't help but think how much cheaper it would be to lower the pass than face the claim when or if she was to fall and break an ankle. I mean up and down 270 times every shift it's bound to happen #OSHA. That aside the pizza is wonderful and the prices are beyond fair. Wish I could give them 0 stars. My family and I had the worst night last night at this location in Ojai. We were served by Kaylin or Cathlyn she's someone racist and I didn't appreciate the way she was treating us. She and her friends were making fun of my dad's accent (we're from Mexico and my father has a marked accent). He only wanted to know her name cause it's common sense that you know your servers/ waitresses name in order to call their attention instead of snapping fingers. She then turned around to serve her friends or family to be honest at this point I'm unsure if they were even customers by how close she was acting towards them and she proceeded to mock my father along with her friends saying the same question my father asked her " ah what's your name ? Ojai Pizza used to be sooo good, but maybe the hype caught up with it. The place was freezing cold -- AC way too high -- so by the time our pizza got to the table, it wasn't super hot. I got the mushroom and bell pepper pizza and the potato wedges, both solid 7/10. Service could definitely be better -- my son even said, 'Why are you tipping her? She didn't say anything extra!' After spending some time at Libbey park my kids worked up an appetite and were ready for lunch. We decided to go walk to Ojai Pizza Company for lunch. I ordered The Bomb specialty pizza with gluten free crust. I wish the crust was a little softer, but the flavors were so good and that made up for it. My kids and hubby shred a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. We were all really happy with our food. I also had a glass of zinfandel and my hubby had a glass of beer (salty crew) the kids had a soft drink. Kaiya waited on us today and she was awesome! She was friendly, helpful and on top of things! I was having a hard time deciding which wine I wanted to drink and Kaiya bought me a two samples. She also helped me decided on the perfect specialty pizza for me. The restaurant was comfortable. One of the most interesting California pizza experiences I've had in a long time. I can see why it's always busy. Love it here! As a Bostonian, I rarely venture outside traditional East coast pizza, mostly because "new age" pizza always reminds me of high school cafeteria food experiments- interesting but with post traumatic stomach disorder afterwards. Not so with Ojai pizza company. This place is legit. Not only do they not scrimp on the ingredients, they obey the law of toppings that don't soak your pizza dough so that it resembles Freddy Kruger's face. No. They do it right. I really enjoyed myself here, and will definitely return here on my next visit to Ojai, and see if it warrants a 5-star rating, which I only give after multiple visits. The only complaint I have is slow service. Everyone is super nice, but they are a bit slow, and I waited 20 minutes just to pay my bill. I ordered my pizza thin crust. My friend ordered the wings which I did not love as not crispy. I am a crispy wing kind of gal. I wouldn't order wings here. The salads .. Caesar and antipasto were so fresh! It was not too busy. Clean place. Just didn't like that one of the restrooms did not lock. They had a sign to knock before entering as it does not lock. Not sure if a choice but it's a simple fix and would like a restaurant to tend to maintenance quickly. I fix locks at my house .. so not a difficult fix. Not sure! Cool place to hang out. We were visiting Ojai for the first time and a guy walked by us holding a pizza that smelled so good, we turned around to find where he got it. This led us to Ojai Pizza Company. We walked in and almost every table was taken (Friday around 1 pm) and the bartenderended up seating us. We ordered the combination pizza (small) and the Hawaiian/spicy one as recommended (thin crust with ranch). It took a while to get our food, but it was worth the wait. We finished it all off between the two of us. Lots of toppings and really good crust. It was also relatively inexpensive compared to a chain pizza place ($45 for both pizzas and drinks). We were told there was one waitress for the whole restaurant and that it would be a little bit of a wait-- but that's the service industry right now. Everyone was polite and the food was worth the wait. We got to watch the game (they have a few TVs) and some sports memorabilia on the walls. We will be back. read more
