My daughters ham and cheese croissant was hard as a rock like it had been taken out of the fridge and not even warmed up. I came in at 4am and they were making a fresh batch of buttermilk glazed and chocolate donuts. Let me tell you that big chains can't even compare to the deliciousness that this place creates. It was surprisingly busy when I got there but the two people husband and wife? We're so incredibly helpful because I was picking up some donuts and coffee for my girlfriend studying for her finals. The guy was very convincing on me trying the donuts and tell me that these taste REALLY good when it's fresh. He did not lie. I don't know if this place is open 24/7 but I went at 130am on a Wednesday. If they are, they should really put up a 24/7 sign and maybe better lighting because I would have definitely passed this up. It also looks closed and run down because it has old missing signs from the previous donut place. So re kind of throwing mixed signals. The guy was really friendly and the donuts were fresh for being so late. He gave us an extra donut too! You can't go inside but there is a walk up window. Service was SUPER friendly, patient (I couldn't make up my mind, lol), and helpful-very refreshing at 7:00 A.M. I'm not a donut conessiuer, but the donuts were amazing. They were light, cakey, and super moist. I wasn't going to eat any (I bought them for a group) but I couldn't resist. I almost wish I hadn't because now I have to go back;)! I've been wanting to try this donut spot for about a month and I don't know why I waited so long. I went today for my first time and this place has the freshest donuts in El Monte. As for the coffee it's made very good and the creamer isn't just milk they have flavored creamers like vanilla and hazelnut, which not to many donut shops have it for free, they usually charge extra. The ham and cheese was also very tasty. Last the lady who owns this place is very nice she took her time to help me out and we even got a conversation going. Went there just now for the first time and the owners are just the nicest people EVER. She gave me a free donut after buying a dozen. Super delicious donuts and amazing iced coffee! The donuts are so fluffy and perfect that they have set a norm for all other donuts on how they should taste and feel. The iced coffee is inexpensive(save the trip to Starbucks) and has the perfect balance of sweetness and coffee mixed in.
