Looking for a tasty donut? ML Donuts is a must try. They are open from 6am - 10pm, do they've got you covered. Their donuts are super tasty. They don't have that waxy, fake taste to them. They are light, not greasy, and are what a true donut should be. We stopped in later at night, so that we'd have some breakfast goodies. The cake donut- these have never been my favorite, and it was delicious! Normally, I find them to be overly heavy, and this absolutely wasn't. It was late and almost springy. The vanilla frosting on top had that lovely sweetness, that wasn't too sweet, but just perfect with every bite. The donut holes... Holy cow! Larger than most donut holes are, and melt in your mouth goodness! The old-fashioned, which is my personal favorite I would have enjoyed more since I ordered a chocolate one for myself, and we were given maple instead. The maple was actually tasty, and I was surprised that I enjoyed it. The standard donut which we did order in maple, because it wasn't for me, was perfectly glazed, perfectly sweet, and perfectly delicious. I'd been wanting to try this spot for a while and finally made an excuse to stop by after dinner for dessert. One thing that stood out right away is that they stay open late until 9 PM every day, which is rare for a donut shop that makes everything in-house. Of course, coming at night meant that some of the best-sellers, like the French crullers, were already gone, but I was still able to grab an apple fritter, a Boston cream donut, and a crumb-style donut. The prices here are very affordable, especially considering the donuts are freshly made. Parking is mostly metered spots out front, but if you drive into the side streets, you can find free parking. Inside, there are some tables if you want to sit and enjoy your donuts, and they also serve sandwiches. A fun little touch is the instant ramen shelf, which gives the place a bit of character. The lady running the shop was incredibly kind and friendly, with a warm smile that made the visit even better. She took the time to chat and was very welcoming, which gave the place a comforting, neighborhood feel. Out of the ones I tried, the apple fritter stood out the most--it had a great balance of crispy edges and soft, doughy inside with a nice glaze. The crumb donut was incredibly light and fluffy, with a sweet, crumbly coating that added just the right amount of texture. The Boston cream donut had an airy texture with a strong vanilla custard filling. I didn't care much for the chocolate glaze on top, as it wasn't as rich as I would've liked, but the filling inside made up for it. Overall, I enjoyed what I tried and definitely plan to come back in the morning to get a fresh French cruller. Got an assortment of 18 classic donuts that looked pretty appetizing - properly raised and not over glazed. I was very disappointed. The guy told me he had fresh hot donuts specifically the sugar and chocolate ones. He seemed friendly and I believed him. I took a bite without thinking into the most stale mediocre donut. I could instantly tell the fryer oil hasn't been changed in a while coming from having a family business. What's better than checking into your airbnb and seeing (via your yelp app) that less than two blocks away is a donut shop? If they have it - get the MAPLE OLD FASHIONED. That hint of maple is ahhhmazing. And they don't skimp on the glaze. Of course - this spot offers up more than just donuts but I honestly don't remember what else was on the menu b/c I saw donuts and went all Homer Simpson. I did have coffee with my donuts though!
