Visited Vero beach for the first time this year for July 4th and I've eaten at Mo Bay 4 times in 5 days. The food is that good. Jerk chicken, stew chicken, red snapper, and oxtails. And the portion is large so you will probably have leftovers... which is never a bad thing in my eyes!!! read more

Drove from Melbourne, FL area to dine here after seeing a good coupon. Small place in a shopping center on US 1 in Sebastian, which has a Publix. Owner was cordial. Delicious cup of fish chowder, followed by nice-size basket with plenty of fries and his own breading on fried shrimp. Lots of shrimp, too. Dessert was plain rice pudding. I had dinner here with a friend Saturday night. The Conch Firtters were excellent as an appetizer. For our entrees I had the curried goat and despite asking for it to be prepared a little on the spicy side I found myself reaching for the pepper mill after one bite because it was very bland and not spicy at all. My companion had the Jerk Chicken stuffed with mushrooms and spinach which was very good. A+ for the jerk flavoring and spices. She ordered the garlic mashed potatoes but they came without even a hint of garlic. The staff was friendly and attentive, which is always a plus. Some reviews here had us worried that the portions would be small but we didn't think so. There are plenty of things on the menu we'd still like to try and we will be going back, but after our first visit it's really hard to rate Mo-Bay Grill much higher than 3 out of 5 stars. It was good but not great. I deducted an extra star because $3.50 for a glass of iced tea is easily 40% more than what you'll pay anywhere else in the area. I could have overlooked that (a couple of extra bucks isn't going to bust our food budget) but while the refills were free they were also free of any ice. So off comes another star. A nice place but nothing to write home about. read more

Lots of choices on the menu, we picked a mix of seafood and Jamaican specialties. The Louisiana soup was terrific, as was the jerk chicken - spicy with great flavor. Rest of family chose variety of seafood, and all enjoyed. Owner stopped by for a friendly chat and waitress brought a sample of jerk sauce when my daughter asked how spicy it was. Owner came over, shook our hand and wished us a Merry Christmas to start, already off to a positive start. Our waitress was new and still was very accommodating, always going to ask a question to the staff if she didnt know the answer and kept our drinks full. Food was delicious, unique and not typical food you find at other restaurants. Loved trying new things. I had crab cakes, sweet potatoes and fried cabbage. All great and filling. We might have come here on an "off day" because most reviews praise this restaurant. We had an entirely different experience. Service was good and friendly, but our meal was very poor. The shrimp and clam on the PoBoy was hard and dry. It looked like it came out of a Sam's club pre-breaded heat and serve box. My family comes around and always makes it to mo-bay for dinner. I love the atmosphere and owners story and food! The ginger sauce with the whole fish is incredible! I was staying at Capt Hiram for a bachelorette party of 12 . Originally had reservations at Black Fin but they called and canceled our reservation saying they had to use the room for a party of 30. Really !!!what???? Anyway we picked a different restaurant and so glad we did Mo Bay Grill was the best. Great food , good drinks , awesome waitress and the owner came out to talk to each table . So much different from the staff at Black fin . So in the end we wanted to thank Black Fin for the Poor service and turning us away. read more

Perfect spot to get breakfast. Right across from the ocean which provides diners a perfect view. The food was well season and tasty. The space is small yet intimate and welcoming. The only complaint I had was that our waitress didn't check on the table as often as we would have liked and when she did check on us, you could tell that she was in a rush.
