Umm.. food was OK. Service was very slow, we had to wait more than 30min to get our main entree. There weren't short staffed either. For a weekday lunch, there were good amount of people. Not all were dining in though, some were there for just coffee. There is the inside seating and the outdoor patio. The inside was smaller than I thought it would be. Ordered hibiscus and elderberry mimosas and they were both good. we sat on the window high top table area and it was good to just look outside and soak in the sunlight. Parking was OK, the parking lot is small but you can always park on the street, it's free up to 4h. For the food, I got the waffle with ice cream + hot honey sauce and my friend got the breakfast taco quesadilla. the waffle icecream had a very interesting texture. i didn't know waffle can be vegan, i thought i was ordering reg waffle with reg icecream. waffle came with butter syrup and hot honey. idk if id order it again, it was decent. again the texture was too weird for me and the ice cream was so chewy lol. same as the quesadilla, it was good but nothing too special. overall idk if i would come back. i was expecting more and kinda got disappointed. servers were friendly but the food is meh.. read more

My sister lives in Katy and was dropping me off at my Airbnb in Montrose so we were both unfamiliar with the area. We picked this place for brunch just from a Google search. We were seated immediately by the friendly hostess and greeted by our server. Upon looking at the menu we realized it was a vegan restaurant but we both love food so we were down to try it. She got an iced chai and I got a hot chamomile. For breakfast she got the mushroom and grits flight and I got the quesadilla. Both were so delicious and the portions were huge. I'll be completely honest--I'm not vegan, so perhaps my view of Mo' Better Brews may be different from the restaurant's target audience. I thought it was an OK breakfast but not great. We ordered the pancake flight--three two-stack-pancake stacks, topped with peach cobbler, strawberry, and pecan toppings. The pancakes were just so-so and needed the tasty toppings to make them great. Because it seemed to be one of the restaurant's signature dishes, we tried the chicken fried mushrooms, which were just that: fried mushrooms. They reminded me of fried onion ring/strings, but with mushrooms, for what that's worth. Service was very nice, though perhaps a bit slow. Overall, I'm sure it's a great place for vegan options but may not be my go-to breakfast spot for my non-vegan self. read more

After 2 attempts in which I was told that the wait was an hour long, I finally walked in and got seated immediately. Imagine my excitement! I sat on the patio. It was a bit chilly so the heaters were on. There was a dj playing soft chill music so it was a whole vibe. I offered a latte, hot honey shrooms and waffle and a side of brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were the star. They were flash fried with a light balsamic vinaigrette finish. The fried shrooms were well seasoned and the hot honey sauce was light enough not to make them soggy. The waffle on the other hand was not so great. The place is cool, like a mini record store as well. I tried them out one morning and there was no one in there, I ordered a hot toddy or something like that, and I never got my drink. It was empty when we ordered and the barista/bartender wasn't busy. people showed up after we ordered so I didn't get why our drink never came out. Our server wasn't really around either, I guess they all help out in kitchen which is fine but i was having to ask others about my drink. They took it off our bill but I was disappointed in that. We waited 90 min for our food at Sunday brunch while the tables next to us finished their appetizers and meals. The August special of moxtail quesadillas was meh, they used jackfruit as the meat and did not crisp up the tortilla so it was really mushy. The waffle was chewy and bland. The fried mushrooms were good but not worth the trouble. At some point our server told us that a manager would come talk to us about the long wait. You guys must visit this place!! I have been vegan for two years now and this restaurant has to be my absolute favorite vegan restaurant I've been to. Even if you aren't vegan I promise you will love the food, there's a lot of different options for everyone to enjoy. The quality of the food and service is impeccable. I love to see the employees love their workplace, it really says a lot about the establishment. My fiancé and I were visiting Houston for just one day and after having brunch at MO's better brews we decided to have dinner there as well. We are in loveee with the shroom and grits. Traveled to Houston for a work conference and it was located close by to this 100% all vegan coffee and restaurant- so I made it over for a late brunch on a Thursday afternoon. I sat outside on their shaded courtyard. There's the metro train that runs directly behind the patio! There was plenty of seating options for smaller parties of 1 like myself without needing to hog a large table. Their menu is a Southern comfort breakfast food menu of dreams. And it's all vegan-friendly. I had to ask a couple of times because it was so incredible all of their offerings. Ha! I ended up getting the giant order of breakfast quesadillas with an added option of sausage for a buck, with a side of smashed papas (basically french fry curls drizzled with a tasty sauce), and a beer. Had to take half of my meal home to-go! The portions are gigantic so it balances out the higher than average price. Fries cost $9, the quesadillas were $14 with extra sausage. Beer was $10. I want to take my husband back here soon and try one of their breakfast sandwiches. It all looks amazing though. The parking lot is very small and I had to pay for street parking a block down. It would be a fun trip to go eat here then visit the art museum since it's just down the street. Hmm, making a future trip plan. read more

I just wanted to say I thought the whole time it was Mo Betta/Bettah Brews, no Mo Better Brews. I feel like if they started off with slang they should have kept it going IJS ‍ I finally tried this restaurant after passing by it for months, and I was very pleased. Parking: they have a very small parking lot that will maybe fit 10 cars, so you will most likely have to park on the street. Parking is usually $2 an hour, but if you come on the weekend it might be free. Must know how to parallel park! Wait Time: this restaurant is very popular, especially for brunch on the weekend, so be prepared to wait. We were initially quoted an hour wait time, but only ended up waiting around 20 to 30 minutes to be seated. I'm glad that our wait was not as long, however I wish the wait times were a bit more accurate, because I was seriously considering going to Starbucks during that time, and if I did I most likely would have missed out on my table. Drinks: The mimosas were good and moderately priced, $10 for a single mimosa is a bit steep, but mu glass was full to the top and the flavours are nice. I have the black Mamosa which apparently has activate it charcoal, which I was not expecting. It was nice and not overpowering, my cousin I believe had a blackberry mimosa which she thoroughly enjoyed. Food: I almost never order shrimp and grits from a restaurant, because I am always disappointed. everyone has a different take on the sauce, style of cooking, et cetera, but since they use mushrooms instead of shrimp I was very interested. Omg it was so good!!! The mushrooms are perfectly crispy, and they stay that way the entire meal, the grits are flavourful, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned. I also really enjoyed the hot honey sauce, which was not overly sweet and really complemented the dish. The portion size was really nice, I done my food and felt very satisfied, I could've taken it home, but I was afraid that the texture of the mushrooms would not stay crispy and I really wanted to enjoy everything. I enthusiastically finished my plate. My cousin got the breakfast plate, which included some sort of tofu scramble, vegan sausage, potatoes, and toast, it looks good, but I was definitely happy I got what I ordered. Price: The food I would say is moderate to high price, most on trees are above $15, which is pretty average plus or minus a few dollars especially considering that it is vegan food. I loved the atmosphere of Mo' Better Brews. I felt welcomed like they were waiting on me to be there. The music playlist was something I would listen to on even given day. The calmness of the energy had me at peace and the meal added to my spirit. I truly enjoyed my meal, it was the Boudin Croissant with Mushroom Gravy and it was delicious and I am not vegan but hope to transition soon. Went here on a Saturday morning with the hub and kid. Hmmm... we were seated after waiting for a bit which was understandable. We sat down and literally waited 19 minutes before someone came to our table to say hello or anything. There were many people walking around, it was hot as heck outside. Someone dropped off water and nothing more. Once we were greeted by our waitress we quickly put in our order, the lump crab gumbo, and shrooms and grits. When I tell you the food was AMAZING!!! I went on a Sunday around 3pm and it wasn't too busy. The weather wasn't too hot or cold, so we sat outside. Our server Amanda was really sweet, attentive and welcoming. For drinks, I had the PYT and my friend had the G-Funk. Both were pretty good. For appetizers, we had the spinach dip which was unbelievably great considering I still eat dairy cream cheese and this had no dairy whatsoever. The boudain balls were really good, just a bit spicy. For my entree I had the Hot Honey Shrooms & Waffles. The mushrooms literally melted in your mouth, it was so delicious. The waffles kind of taste like IHOP waffles which I really enjoyed. The Black Mimosa is so good, I only had one and I savored it the whole time because I just didn't want to let it go. For my entree I ordered the chicken fried shrooms with a side of buffalo sauce and a side of dirty 3rd sauce and fries. These shrooms gotta be in the chicken family because they taste just like it. You can eat them with sauce, without sauce, it doesn't matter- it's going to make your taste buds excited. The atmosphere of the place is so cool. I sat outside on the porch in a patio chair listening to the smoothest music, watching tv, while a gentle breeze from a fan blew in my direction. It's a place that makes you feel sexy, the food is amazing, but the staff is just as good. I didn't notice one face in the establishment that was without a smile. I'm talking about customers and staff. The gumbo was so good I almost ate the bowl. Lol I think they have an inside joke going because when my server came to pick up my empty dishes he said "I can see you didn't enjoy the gumbo."
