This place was such a bad experience! The man that owned the door to me was extremely rude! They messed up my appointment ! I was told to come at a certain time to get my iPad repaired, when I got there I was told I was late and I asked if he could look at my iPad since I was there ? He had a fit that the person that messed up the Schedual had done that.!! He left me standing outside and started yelling around and I simply asked again if he could look at my iPad ? He at least let me in ! Petaluma Mac Users: We're SO lucky to have Mobile Kangaroo & Tim in our town. I've taken multiple devices here over the years and always had a good experience. They are prompt, knowledgeable, their pricing is fair and they always seem to go above and beyond. I came in here a couple of weeks ago with a virus/malware on my Mac! I was horrified as I'd thought that couldn't happen on a mac. Tim took mercy on me and squeezed in my repair, since I was leaving for a trip the following day. He actually worked late to make this repair for me. What compassion! So, I called Apple today to inquire about fixing my phone. I was referred to Mobile Kangaroo on Western. I had a 4:00pm appointment and had my phone fixed by 4:25pm. Since, they are an Apple authorized service provider I was able to get the battery replaced for $30.00 with a 90day warranty. The store was clean and bright and the service tech was knowledgeable and quickly fixed my problem saving me tons of money compared to buying a new phone. read more

I scheduled an appointment to have the monitor on my Apple MacAir computer replaced. I drove 11/2 hours to the appointment and when I arrived the owner told me he would have to order the monitor and he would keep my computer as security! I use my computer for work and can't do that. This is THE PLACE to take you Apple products! The screen on my 2015 MacBook Pro 15" started going crazy and flashing, etc. It was not useable, I assumed I needed a new screen. I went to another computer repair shop in Petaluma prior to Kangaroo. The repair guy said that they don't make my screen anymore, and I should buy an old computer on ebay and he could install the used screen for $600. The guy seemed like a PC guy who tries to work on Macs, he should have just told me he didn't know how to fix it. So I took my computer and went to Kangaroo, thank goodness! I didn't realize they are an official Apple Authorized Retailer/Repair, otherwise I would have gone there first. The guy behind the counter, Tim, is AWESOME! He is a friendly, honest, personable guy, and definitely knows his stuff (Macs & PCs). I showed him my problem and he noticed something totally different, but it ended up fixing all of my problems! The coating on my screen was wearing, and with his extensive knowledge, he knew that there was a factory recall because of the coating! So he requested a new screen directly from Apple through the recall. While we waited for a response (about 45 minutes), he even stayed past closing time for me, he ran a diagnostics on my computer, opened it up and cleaned out ALL of the dog hair I didn't even know was there and cleaned my keyboard. We got the response and Apple approved the new screen! So my computer was fixed FOR FREEEEEE in only a couple of days!!! He didn't charge me anything, not even for the cleaning and diagnostics. And he totally could have! My mac looks and performs like it is brand new! No more flashing screen, and the added bonus is no more scratched up screen on the inside and the outside! There are two 1 star reviews on here that I saw, I would ignore them if I were you. one of them is just cause the guy was late! BTW - I believe that have chargers for most computers, so bring in your charger, but ask if they need it, just to keep things easier. Do not go here! I took my iPhone in for a broken screen after making an appointment through Apple. They did diagnostics before accepting the phone to make sure it was working well, which it was. Two and a half hours later they sent a text to say they'd broken my phone and it wouldn't restart. They said "best I can do" is get a replacement in 3-5 business days that may or may not be refurbished. The service was terrible and there was no attempt to make this better (provide expedited shipping, etc). read more

I brought my Samsung Tab S2 with issues in consistent sound when streaming movies through various apps. The clerk indicated that I should try rebooting it first before anything else. He also indicated that the cost to repair, if this didn't work, would not be worth just replacing it. I went home and googled how to do this and was able to restore all apps and most auto-fill functions. The good news is this fixed the problem. I have been underwhelmed by recent customer "service" experiences. It seems like COVID is an easy excuse for, what would be in other times, laziness and rude behavior. My aging i Phone SE started a crash and freeze routine so, on the advice of the third-to-bat Apple phone advisor, I took my phone to Mobile Kangaroo. I was pleasantly surprised that the sole person in the store, Tim, was friendly, competent, and true to his word. He replaced the battery and checked out the phone within the stated one hour. This was just enough time for a thorough walking tour to check out the city's major businesses: hair salons and dated antique shops. Conveniently, there's a CBD store next-door although I needed no pain relief. The store did a great job and the price ($49) was right. Wow...Manager Tim is everything you can hope for. Knowledge, service, skills, time sensitivity, managing several customers at once without missing a beat for anyone. All this while being super awesome and friendly. I didn't even make an appointment as I was just picking up a product for my wife. (Which Tim absolutely NAILED for her.) He was kind enough to work an issue for me while working with, I believe, 3 or 4 or other people. Yup, I dropped my Galaxy S2 for the gazillionth time, and the screen finally shattered. Um, what do I do now? Nobody fixes these old screens....except Mobile Kangaroo, right here in Petaluma! I went into Mobile Kangaroo because they are an Apple-authorized repair shop, and the screen replacement on my iPhone phone was covered under my Apple Care plan. The replacement work was pristine; I wouldn't hesitate to go back, even if I needed work done out of pocket; Jim provides excellent repair work at competitive prices. He is also super courteous and generous with his time ... while I opted to wait in the shop for my job to be completed, I saw several people come in, either to drop off a device needing to be fixed, or to pick up a completed repair. With each customer, Jim answered a wide range of questions, offering detailed advice and recommendations at no charge. Everyone walked out happy. A month later, I cruised back in myself, asking for some detailed advice about a computer I was planning to buy. He gave me some really specific information I was able to use to make a great purchase decision. The advice was offered freely, with nothing for him to gain; he wasn't selling me anything or pointing me toward a particular vendor - just being helpful. The retina display failed on my MacBook Pro (2017 model) on Monday morning. That afternoon, I took it to Mobile Kangaroo in Petaluma. Tim ran a diagnostic to confirm that was the issue. He suggested I get in touch with Apple Support - believing that the display on a 2 year old laptop in excellent condition should not have failed and that Apple should cover it even though it was out of warranty and I didn't purchase AppleCare. I called Apple, they agreed to pay, and on Friday I picked up my MacBook good as (maybe better than) new. Tim is terrific. Really good at what he does, cares about his customers, and kept me informed at every step. I am so thankful Mobile Kangaroo, and Tim, are in Petaluma! read more

UPDATE FROM THE PREVIOUS REVIEW (as seen below): So I have decided to upgrade my previous review to 4 stars as the good people at Mobile Kangaroo have retrieved my charger. They called around and found my charger (it turns out another customer had taken it mistaking it for their charger). They returned it to me and again were apologetic about the whole situation. They said "we like to take care of our customers" - and to their credit, they did just that. Thanks to Bennie for making the follow up and restoring my faith in y'all. Just don't let this happen again. PREVIOUS REVIEW: The last two experiences I had with them were fine, but this recent one was just soured me. Long story short - my universal A/C power supply and charger for my laptop was lost under their watch. Explanation: My laptop wasn't booting at all and it was an emergency as I had work to do this weekend, so I left it in Bennie's care with my charger - and when I came to pick up my laptop, it was miraculously working (still not sure how it got fixed) - but my really nice power charger was nowhere to be found. My battery is in horrible shape and the A/C charger is my lifeline and because of its adaptability and versatility, it was an expensive lifeline. He acknowledged it had been lost and did offer to pay for it - he did buy me a new one (it was the right thing to do) although the incident happened Saturday and I picked up the new charger from the store the next Thursday. Considering the situation, Bennie did his best to make things right, but having a lot of work to do during that weekend, that did put pressure on me to find another source of A/C power. That's time and effort that could have been spent doing something else. Really, Mobile Kangaroo? You alI fix laptops and don't have any backup cheap chargers in the store? Yes, you're primarily a mobile store and fix laptops on the side, but it was so inconvenient and you really should have a few backups in the store for emergencies. I did appreciate his offer to pay for it, even though the one I received is a basic one and my older one had adaptable tips. Look I know it's just a charger and sometimes customers leave with things - it sucks - and the employee, Bennie, he was deeply apologetic and bought me a new charger so y'all get points for that. But still, something that belonged to me was lost on their watch - on a day that wasn't all at all busy - I can't ignore that. I'm just going somewhere else next time. read more

The guy is great and fast service. It took about an hour to fix a iphone 4S phone broken screen and looks like new again. They have great prices so I may take my Windows phone there because it is cheaper then sending it for the insurance deal which is $100 and they will only charge $86. read more

(TL;DR = Do NOT go here for Apple laptop repairs just because it's closer than the Apple Store. The Apple Store ends up being cheaper, faster and ultimately more convenient) I went to Mobile Kangaroo twice during their posted business hours and they were closed. When I made an appointment through Apple and went back, it took Mobile Kangaroo 3 days to perform a diagnostic test on my MacBook Pro. And I had to call to remind them to get back to me. They they could only order a part for my laptop if my laptop remained in their shop while we waited for the shipment to arrive. This meant they wanted me to leave my laptop sitting there in storage while no one was working on it. They said this was Apple's policy. Since it's my work laptop, I couldn't be without for 5-7 days if it was just sitting there. (The issue was a broken trackpad, so it would still be functional with a mouse before any repairs took place) I checked with the Apple Store. They performed the diagnostic in minutes right in front of me for free. Mobile Kangaroo charges $60 for a diagnostic (which, to be fair, is applied to repairs if you stick it out with them). However, the Apple Store did not obligate me to repairs in order to get a free diagnostic. The Apple Store ordered the part and said I could take my laptop home with me and bring it back once the part was in stock, which would take 2 days. If there is an Apple rule about laptops not leaving the store while waiting for shipments, it must not apply to the actual Apple Store. Assuming that Mobile Kangaroo was telling the truth about Apple policy, that still does not excuse their slow service and lack of communication. I paid the $60 diagnostic fee because I had stupidly agreed to it, but considering I did not trust their abilities I was not going to be without my laptop for a week just to save $60. (Oh yeah, and the parts and repair are cheaper through the Apple Store so waiting it out with Mobile Kangaroo would not have been cheaper) I really hate going to the Apple Store, but in this case, the extra drive is worth it for speed of service, price and overall convenience. It may not be MK's fault that Apple policy makes them a less convenient option, but it is their fault that they are slow and offer poor communication. read more

WILL NEVER USE MOBILE KANGAROO AGAIN Went in for a phone 6s screen replacement. It turns out they use after market screens; the camera in the new screen is blurry. Went in Friday and they were too busy and told me to come back at 10am Monday; waited until 10:50 when he finally showed up. New person couldn't see any problems...like the person on Friday...and said he couldn't help. Now Apple says my warranty is void because I let these guys replace the screen and I'm stuck with a blurry camera. Thanks for nothing! read more
