    Valvoline Instant Oil Change

    Valvoline Instant Oil Change

I came in with my newer Mercedes and asked very clearly, multiple times, whether they were able to:…read more * replace my wiper blades * reset the service/maintenance warning * and perform the oil change correctly I specifically made sure they were confident working on my car, and I was repeatedly told yes -- that everything could be done with no problem. That was clearly not true. They kept my car for nearly 2 hours, and after all that, they still managed to overfill the engine oil. As soon as I got on the highway, my Mercedes gave me a warning that the oil level was too high -- which is not a minor issue and can potentially cause serious engine damage. So instead of getting a simple oil change, I ended up in a stressful and potentially dangerous situation because this location did not do the job properly. I then had to take my vehicle to the Mercedes dealership and have the oil service redone correctly. And to make it worse, the other things I specifically asked about and was assured they could do were not done either: * the wiper blades were not replaced * the service reminder was not reset So for about $150, I got: * an improperly done oil change * a potentially dangerous mistake * incomplete service * wasted time * and zero accountability No refund. No ownership of the mistake. No real apology. If you drive a Mercedes, European, luxury, or newer vehicle, I would strongly recommend taking it somewhere else. This was not just poor service -- it was careless and incompetent.

I had a really frustrating and honestly stressful experience at Valvoline. As a first-time driver…read morewith a manual transmission car, I expected a basic level of guidance and safety when going in for something as simple as an oil change. Instead, the situation turned into a complete mess that left me feeling blamed for something that could have been prevented. When I arrived, I was directed to drive my car over the service pit. Because I'm still fairly new to driving a manual transmission, this kind of maneuver can be a little nerve-racking, especially in a tight space where there are employees and equipment around. I assumed that the staff would guide me clearly or even drive the car into the exact position if needed to make sure everything was safe. Instead, I was told to drive forward myself with very little direction. As someone who is still learning and trying to be careful, this put a lot of pressure on me. These pits are obviously something the employees deal with every day, but for a customer--especially a new driver--it's not something we're used to navigating. Situations like this are exactly why staff should be helping ensure the car is positioned correctly. When things didn't go smoothly, instead of helping resolve the situation professionally, I was told I might have to pay for a tow truck. That completely shocked me. I came in for a simple oil change and suddenly I'm being told I might be responsible for towing costs because of how the car ended up positioned over their pit. From my perspective, this should never have happened in the first place if there had been proper guidance or if a staff member had handled positioning the vehicle. What made the experience even worse was the lack of understanding or empathy from the employees. Being a newer driver is already stressful, and instead of helping calm the situation and find a reasonable solution, it felt like they immediately shifted responsibility onto me. Places like this should prioritize customer safety and clear communication. Not every driver has years of experience, and not every car is the same. If you run a shop with a service pit, there should be clear procedures in place to prevent situations like this from happening. Customers shouldn't feel pressured, confused, or threatened with unexpected charges over something that staff could easily help manage. Overall, the entire experience left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. What should have been a routine oil change turned into a stressful situation that could have been avoided with better customer service, clearer guidance, and a little more professionalism. I definitely won't be returning, and I would recommend other drivers--especially newer drivers or those with manual cars--to be cautious before coming here.

The battery was about 5 years old so it was about time to replace it soon anyways, but the timing of it was weird since I hadn't had any issues with the car starting/the battery up until that point. They said they could replace it there but I chose not to. It didn't pass emissions due to the battery. I was given the option to come back and get a free retest within 15 days. I changed the battery and came back about a week or so later. I explained the situation and waited around 2 hours when they said it would be 25 minutes. The car didn't pass emissions again because apparently you are supposed to drive 50-100 miles on the new battery before it can be retested. Something about the computer not being able to connect. Maybe this is common knowledge but I had never heard about it until then and had to look it up later. I wasted 2 hours waiting to hear that and would have had to pay to retest it so I went somewhere else. They didn't have to, but I wish they would have told me about this before I came back or I would have waited and driven on the new battery more. I was dissatisfied with the lack of communication and how long it took with no warning that was how long it would be.
