    Take 5 Oil Change

I used to dread going to get my oil changed. My first experience at Take 5, The old manager wanted…read moreto be any where but there. No warm, no fuzzies. But NOW? new manager and it's like a whole different dimension. I pulled up for my oil change and was greeted like I was rolling into the Four Seasons (if that's a thing for oil changes). I was even asked if I wanted some water while I waited. Gasp. The new manager runs this place like he's conducting an orchestra of dipsticks and wrenches. The crew's efficient, polite, and didn't try to upsell me on windshield wipers I just bought yesterday. The whole vibe is less "grease pit of doom" and more "pit crew at the Indy 500." I actually left in a good mood after an oil change--let that sink in. Long story short: 10/10, would recommend. Old manager was a sitcom, new manager is a Netflix documentary--organized, calm, and way better for my blood pressure.

They drained my oil, removed my air filters, and charged me full price--then told me they didn't have the filters and might find them "somewhere in DFW." I sat in 100° heat for over an hour with no real solution. When I asked for a refund on the filters so I could leave, I was told it would take two weeks and that they'd have to charge me again for the whole service (over $200). Corporate never answered their hotline. Completely unprofessional, misleading, and a total waste of time. I will never return.

On a trip back from OU she called saying something was dragging from the bottom and had pulled into a truck stop. I drove to Oklahoma got under the car and what was hanging was the lower splash shield which screws to the bottom of the chassis. Now here's what's relevant, to do a full oil change the lower splash shield must come off. . The following day after buying a new splash shield i jacked up the car and went to remove the damaged existing shield. Thats when I noticed the existing shield was missing attaching bolts and worse had been partly zip tied to the front air dam.. Final thought I had, who last serviced this car before our kiddo went off for her junior year at OU, Firestone in town. I never brought it up because I wasn't gonna ever go back there again. This was one of a succession of things that made me think. This was not a place I wanted to do business with any further. I make it a practice now to check every bit of work. That is done by anybody on our cars.Nobody is without error but this was clear negligence

Countless visits with multiple cars where…read morethis shop finds thousands wrong and the car comes out making more noises than it did when it went in. Many times we've had to take the car back so they could repair their own work. On March 1, we took a car in to have a rattling noise checked, for tire rotation and oil change; simple tasks for most shops right? The shop lied about performing the courtesy tire rotation that comes with purchasing their tires, and charged me for the full synthetic oil change that they never did. We ended up at Take 5 to get that simple task done but after looking at other reviews on various sites and the BBB site (F rating), I don't know how we were ever coming here in the first place. Don't contact corporate as they don't care either. To fix the rattle, they wanted $1600+ to replace front control arms and rear shocks. Needless to say, we'll never visit another location. UPDATE: I've been in contact with "socialcare@bfrc.com" for weeks and have been assured I'll receive a call from Firestone. No communication from the store or anyone else outside of "socialcare@bfrc.com" in weeks of correspondence. 3/25/26 Update: The vehicle has now gone through 2 visits at a 3rd party shop to perform extensive inspections to ascertain the source of the rattling. Firestone's assessment was that the front control arms / ball joints be replaced at $942.98 and for some odd reason, the rear shocks also be replaced at $627.38. That was Firestone's fix. The actual fix? $70 in MISSING hardware from the left front brake assembly! This practice lines up with everything I've read online. Assess and assign ridiculous amounts to fix the problem hoping it will. Had I agreed to the work with Firestone, the rattling would still be there. Do not take your vehicle here. If it's their tires you're after, go to Discount tire. At least there you won't walk out with thousands in recommendations on issues that don't exist.

My car was detailed to perfection AND it didn't break the bank as many of these places are when "detail" is mentioned. Super courteous team, attention to detail and every car is quality checked before it's considered complete and ready for your inspection and satisfaction. The lobby is THE most comfortable and relaxing experience. Saturday morning cup of coffee, a quick chill and you're out of there with a clean and fresh ride. Great way to start the weekend in this Texas weather. Then they raised the price on my third visit which was already high in my opinion. I tried to talk to the Manager but he only made excuses and told me good work takes time?? Their procedures were poor compared to other full service locations I have used. The last time I went by I took my daughter's car. The price was higher again but I paid it. Once again I was there an hour+ and her car was sitting partially in the sun for over 20 minutes so it dried with spots on the hood and grill areas! I left after telling the manager what was wrong. His response was sorry we are short handed my people are afraid of an ICE raid?? I won't go back!
