I messaged Bruce on Yelp at 12:30pm, as I live in Dallas but happened to be up in Plano. My car had some bad vibrations from a warped brake rotor, and some loose body trim from a storm that I was driving through. He messaged back within 1 hour and told me to bring it in. Bruce took care of everything within 2 hours. Quick, efficient, and affordable as always. Here's the kicker: I've had a clunking/banging noise from my rear suspension for four years. Nobody has ever been able to figure it out, because the suspension itself looks fine. I've had it looked at by three or four good mechanics, and I finally gave up and just dealt with it. Bruce heard the clunk when he was working on my car. His first response: "Dangit." His second: Bruce dug around the rear suspension, even though he didn't have to, and after more inspection, found a suspension bolt that was loose. I didn't realize 'til after Bruce fixed it that I've been carrying stress and tension every time I drive because I always feel like the suspension is about to fail. Now I can drive with peace of mind. All thanks to Bruce just being a great guy and wanting to help a customer out. Bruce is seriously one of the best mechanics I've ever taken my car to. Bruce is a fantastic and reasonably priced mechanic. Being a somewhat DIY mechanic myself, I trust Bruce with all the things that I don't trust myself with lol. I have been bringing cars to Bruce for a few years, ever since he was repairing them out of his home. The jobs I have had Bruce do range from changing bushings in a Ford Econoline work van, to a complete engine swap in my 1989 BMW. Every time I have brought a car to Bruce it is fixed in a timely manner, and the price is always much lower then what I would expect to pay at the dealership or other mechanics. When there was a coolant leak in our Porsche Cayenne I feared the worst, but it ended up being pipes and a belt that needed replacing. The car was back on the road in 1 day! 5 stars for Bruce! He is a trustworthy and highly capable mechanic with a background in engineering. It's hard to find a good mechanic, but Bruce is the real deal. read more

Got an oil change at a national chain which then proceeded to tell me that my brakes & rotors were wore down and needed to be replaced. Estimate, of course, was over 500 dollars. Did a quick call to Bruce the same day, quoted me less and was able to machine the rotors instead of replace which even saved more. He was able to do this work in the same day as well. I have been going to Grease Monkey for quite a while. Bruce the mechanic does a good job and treats you right on the price. I have had no issue with his work or service and he is always lower than others for work prices. I would recommend when going you at e prepared to drop off and not wait. My car wound up having something smash the fan in my car which then went in to the radiator. I looked for a mechanic near me. It was a Friday after 5 and most of the other places where closed or where closing. In a last ditch effort, I called one last number and got Bruce. Online it showed that he was closed but tried anyway. Bruce told me to bring it in to him and recommended a tow service, which was reasonable. When we arrived, he greeted us warmly and not like some one making him late for happy hour. He comes across like your buddy from high school that loves cars and loves to work on them. Except that, from what I remember from the conversation, he has a degree in engineering. He said he would look at the problem and let me know the next day... a Saturday. Mechanics usually work on Saturdays but it's usually catchup time for them and don't answer phones. He called me and explained the problem, the price, which was very reasonable, and asked when I wanted to pick it up. Thinking he would have typical mechanics schedule I thought it would be Monday. I asked him when I could pick it up and he said in a couple hours. I can't say enough about this guy. He is savvy at his job and very personable, not to mention priced in such a way that you know you are getting the best deal. I am writing this at this moment waiting for him to open because I have a new issue with my car ( it stalls if I don't give it gas) but I am willing to drive it from North Mckinney to South Plano just to have him look at it. Let me tell you, I found the best mechanic for my vehicle from Yelp, Grease Monkey V2.0. I own a Porsche Cayenne. Any repair or maintenance for this type of vehicle can be costly at the dealership. Like the majority of car owners, I was tired of expensive auto repair charges . Luckily, I found Grease Monkey V2.0 by doing a search on Yelp. Kudos to the Yelper for posting the Porsche Cayenne review! Anyways, the repairs I had completed on my vehicle included a new drive shaft, new spark plugs and other routine maintenance. I found Bruce to be hardworking and very knowledgeable about vehicles. From the variety of vehicles parked in the Auto Shop, it appears Bruce will be able to work on any type of vehicle.
