I will tell you this though... my "new catalytic converter" is most likely going to have to be replaced AGAIN due to the damage their mechanic caused doing a simple emissions test, which somehow passed but when I got in it to leave, the engine light was back on and it was running HORRIBLE! He takes his little code reader out (like I couldn't have done that) and says it's a bad fuel injector. He has the secretary tell me this and when I told her it was just fine when I came in, she proceeds to tell me that I can make an appt for the next week. Are you kidding me?? I tried to call the manager or whoever is in charge and IF I was able to get past HER, I either got a vm, or it just conveniently disconnected. NOTHING was really fixed! AC STILL doesn't work, and codes pull up "catalytic converter." Go figure!!!

With 3 kids, no idea how we would get home and in general what we were going to do, I am beyond grateful that we had AAA tow the car, off the 215 freeway, to J & G transmissions. James, the owner, was knowledgeable and extremely quick in assessing the situation (of the car and of our family). He lent us a car to drive to get lunch while his team assessed, fixed and double checked the car. His daughter Amber is a saint, providing coloring books, drawing supplies, a tidy coffee bar and best of all, otter pops just when we needed them. She kept the experience positive and kept our hopes up. I cannot believe how quickly they fixed our mini-van and how wonderful they were. Priceless. I was greeted as soon as I entered the store and they finished the test in less than 9-10 minutes (I was very surprised). If you require any other car service go literally anywhere else unless you have no where to be. They allow you to book in advance but I can confidently say that since the dedicated front desk person stopped working there, your appointment literally doesn't matter at all. If you have any non emissions related service they will prioritize those over your other services every. Single. Time. I've tried booking first thing in the morning, the person opening didn't show up till about 25 minutes after open. Most recently I came in for a scheduled brake service. I waited around for 30 minutes after my appointment time. The person I first spoke to said they'd be back, after waiting so long I went to leave only to have them stop me and claim they could squeeze me in and finish the job in about 45 min. Since they prioritized emissions testing walk ins I ended up waiting a total 2 hours and 30 minutes for something they told me would take 45 minutes total. I would have kept walking if the technician didn't lie to me. Lesson learned. Do. Not. Get. Your. Brakes. Done. Here. It's a real shame because they use to be so great in the past at this location. I'd come here for most regular maintenance. I hope they turn it around back to the good service they use to provide in years past.

They did fix the issue without pushback so I decided to try them again. 2nd time was for fuel injectors and plugs. Work was not completed properly and injector was not seated properly. It was hard getting up to date information as they didn't want to tell me they yet again failed to properly complete the repair. The guy behind the counter said " I saw your text but ignored it because we had an issue" They asked me to yet again bring my car back because of their poor job, I opted to find a different shop. I should have learned after 1st experience. fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

He saved me a significant amount of cash by finding out the Subaru dealership was trying to overcharge me for an unnecessary repair. He's a busy man, so you might need to follow up more than once, but he will take care of you. I think he's honest and works with integrity, which is invaluable when it comes to mechanics, plumbers, used car salesman etc.

I think he used to be a lot better mechanic than he is now. He charges a lot more than he used to, charges a lot just to look at your car and has become a rude guy. And to tell me to F off because I missed an appointment is no way to treat customers. What happens if you had an issue with his work? He's gunna tell you to get the hell out and he doesn't want your business anymore?? that is not a mechanic you want. You want someone to treat u decent and stand by his work.
