Mixed reviews are to be expected. Be glad if you were someone fortunate enough to give him a 5 star rating. Sorry for those who didn't have such a great experience. I got lucky and avoided additional contact with Robert after his initial assessment of my black tank issue and then getting his exorbitant quote, so my 1 star rating isn't based on workmanship but simply his poor work ethic. He's a nice enough guy. Maybe that plays well into the use of his unfavorable tactics. He wanted to charge $891 just for the tank that he said was leaking. The next day he said I better act quickly as there were only 1 or 2 tanks left and if I didn't grab one the price would go up since it would have to be specially built. I ended up getting the tank through Heartland for $160 and then hired a reputable tech for removal of the old tank and installation of the new. Just based on the capacity of the tank Robert planned to get I question if it would've been correct as it wasn't even close to what I got from Heartland that was customized to match the existing plumbing on my RV. Not only that, the tech doing the job couldn't find a leak! So now I'm out $326 because the tank can't be returned-a small price to pay compared to how much he wanted to rip me off for. Heartland said the job should take about 10 hours. Robert wanted $2400 for labor. You do the math and then tell me whether or not I'm crazy to think that's a tad on the high side. I showed interest in a new hot water heater. I won't even go into the details of that encounter. Suffice it to say that he was going to charge $1480 for the unit but labor would be free since one person could install that while the other worked on the tank. Heartland wanted $868 for a h/w heater. Talk about price gouging. He stood to gain around $1700 just by overcharging for two items. Of course he didn't have to charge labor for that! This guy will take your money however he can get it! I can't say don't use him. Obviously some people are very happy, but do your homework and don't give him an unreasonable amount of money upfront. He wanted me to just hand over $1335 for parts. After seeing his reviews and reading the complaints filed against him at the BBB I'd be very reluctant to do that for fear I'd never see him again. read more

Update to our previous review. We had to take Robert (Mobile RV Works) to small claims court. He was to pay us $500 a month until the debt was paid in full as ordered by the court. We only received two payments and he has not made any payment since December 2022. Too bad this has gone this far as he just doesn't seem to care that he owes money for a product he never delivered. Robert came to us 4 years ago with a fridge issue, paid for a new board and come to find out is was the pilot light being suffocated and not the board. Over all he was great this trip just truly didn't resolve the issue. About 6 months ago had him out for brake Inspection and axle bearing service. He shows up late and thought he was showing up for an electrical problem. He had no parts and couldn't do the job, had a friend deal with it since he was so unprepared. At this time we also asked for a price to replace fresh water tank to a larger size, never got a response! Lastly, just this last week we called him out to fix trailer brakes wiring at the two axles the dog chewed up. He was 48 minutes late. So the wires coming out of each drum we're accessible and the main wire coming from the front end that was sticking out of the under belly was accessible. Just need to re connect all 4 corners as well as the main line to feed them. Well, he did it but used twist type connectors and a poor electrical tape job, and used high voltage wiring, I believe it was 10 gauge wire 600v wire. Colors didn't match and non standard connectors and wire. Ultimately it all worked and got us back up and running. And I know the different wire works just the same for them application. But it just looked like they used what was lying around. Plus he had two guys out here for 3 hours which seems crazy for some simple wiring. When I talked to him about my frustrations he had a reason for everything. We settle at half the bill only cause I decided that was fair. My father has a diesel pusher and contacted Robert to replace an inverter wire that was chewed by mountain mice. Robert was responsive at first, showed up to our house and was working on the RV for about an hour and a half. He ended up leaving without completing the job and doesn't return any calls, voicemails, or text messages. He knew we had plans to take the RV on a trip but that may need to be canceled now. Robert has a great personality and you think he is the person to go to. He did do a good repair for the damage on the top of our trailer. We gave him 2 stars because he did do the repair. We took our trailer on an trip (he knew we had a reservations) and he said he would take care of the warranty work upon our return. He indicated it would not problem doing this work, and we had received an ok from our insurance to get the warranty repairs done. Since our return two months ago, he does not return our phone calls or text messages. When we do call he sends a message he will call back in an hour. I called Robert to have him fix a auto-leveling jack on my 5th wheel that wasn't retracting at all. He determined that the motor likely failed. He ordered a new jack and set up an appointment to replace it. I had several other questions and a few other issues with the RV and he advised that I send him a list of problems with pictures ahead of time, if possible, and that he could determine what parts he'd need to order or pull. Robert showed up (albeit late ({he called ahead advising as such}, but I made him later {sorry person after me!}) and replaced the jack in no time. My auto-leveling system still was not functioning properly (it kept faulting out), and he knew right where to go to find the controller, un plug it, do a hard reset, and get it operating again. I honestly would not have know how to do this myself without watching a lot of youtube videos. Anyway, Robert got me going again. I found him to be extremely personable, extremely knowledgeable, and able to quickly answer, with great detail, every question I threw at him. He offered a lot of ad hoc advice and noticed a small tear in my awning and advised me where to get a repair kit and how to fix it myself. Overall, my experience was great. read more

Do not use this man. For starters he is not licensed, not a contractor, not qualified to do anything. Employing him puts you in a bad situation as you will be responsible for any damage he does, anything he makes a mistake on, anything he does a poor job of with no recourse. Since he is none of those things you cannot sue him for damages or for him making your RV unlivable for a period of time. If you do employ him make sure he gives you a contract because he will not stick to the original agreement and will change what he is going to do and charge you more then the original estimate. My work which was extensive was supposed to cost just over $10,000 but ended up costing way over $12,000. He originally said he'd change out the interior light bulbs but never id even though he promised he'd come back and do them. When I called him to get him to do that he was rude and told me it could be months before he would have time. I reminded him that I had paid him in full while his new customers had not, and he told me not to contact him again. Robert Arias III was recommended by Gambler's RV (they no longer recommend him) to level may RV. He was supposed to do all six levelers but only did four. The wood I paid for still sits by the levels, He does not have the equipment to raise the RV so he cannot do the front ones. While there working on the leveling he closed the slides on my RV causing one piece of molding to come loose inside. He promised to fix it every time he came but never did. It's an easy fix and would have taken him ten minutes. He is full of promises and good intentions that were simply words with no action behind them. He often did not show up on the days he was supposed t be there., When he did show up he was always between 1 to 5 hours late. He never let me know he would be late. Other times he sent his son and his son's friend and they have even less knowledge than Robert, and often have to stop work in order to call him to find out what to do. He was supposed to run an electrical line and a water line from my friend's mains going in the direction he spray-painted on the dirt. That was the agreement. When he showed up to dig the trench he decided to go another way which was longer and he charged me more. Yes, the new route was less hassle for him so that's why he took it. He takes the easy way out any time he can. Once this was done and after the first rain storm everywhere he dug it sunk. Three 68 year old women live on the property and have to walk in the area. he came out and filled it but with the next storm most of it sunk again jeopardizing the health and well being of the occupants and owner of the property. He refused to come back and make it right. Also he was supposed to attach the water spigot and the electric to a post he put in but it was never done as you can see in the pictures. He was supposed to build a deck with a ramp for my older dog. The deck was supposed to be able to be taken apart since it was built on my friend's property and could not be permanent. He glued much of it and told me at the end the only way it could ever be moved from the property was "on the bed of a flat bed truck. The ramp he was supposed to build never happened because he decided on stair and did that when I was not around to approve it. The ramp was for my old 100 pound g dog to be able to easily enter and leave the trailer. Although he did steps that are easier to access than normal they don't work well for my dog going down. He should have asked me before doing them instead of a ramp. He also painted the whole stair instead of just the stair steps with a redwood stain and it doesn't match the natural wood of the deck. Again he did that in my absence. He wasn't;t going to put railing around the deck or on the stairs but was going to put doors for storage below the deck. We agreed to change the doors for railings but they cost me more than the doors would have. I am unhappy with almost every aspect of Robert's work from his not showing up, to being con distantly late, to changing things to make it easier for him but more costly for me, to changing plans in my absence. Added to the fact that he has no business license, no certification, and not being a contractor makes using him a REALLY BAD IDEA. I hope this review serves as a warning to others who might employee him. It's not only costly but dangerous. Has he burned down my friend's home while on the property, he would not be responsible for the damages. I would be the one paying the price. PLEASE do not hire Robert Arias III. read more

Bought a brand new 5th wheel and couldn't get my hydraulic jacks to go down. I called the dealership, the manufacture and the Jack manufacturer and got nowhere. I really dont know what happened to Robert he installed my solar. It took him three weeks longer than he said but he finished. He adds also installed my max fan and resealed my roof where it needed it. Everything looked good. Since he took so long to finish he offered to put my safe t plus on for free. Well when I got the parts he seems to have disappeared. No return calls or texts. I know where he lives but I'm not going to someone's house. Now I'm having trouble with my solar and again no return calls or texts. I thought I found an honest RV tech but like I said he disappeared. I really do hope he's ok. After having really poor experiences with dealership service departments, we decided to give Mobile RV Works a try. We met with Robert for an estimate to install a tow hitch for our vehicle. He made recommendations which really paid off and we are very happy with the way our rig handles with the vehicle in-tow. We also had him repair some minor exterior damage, replace our gfi outlet with a higher amperage plug and service our generator. All this may sound minor but I have to tell you, Robert really knows his stuff. He noticed that our generator was missing an exhaust pipe which could have been a really, really big deal! I have since contacted the manufacturer who in fact verified that he was absolutely correct. I called with a problem with the water pressure in my shower. It was so bad you couldn't shower. I'm in the middle of nowhere and the only RV place around no showed and left me waiting for 2 days. It was a blessing I came across Mobile RV Works here on yelp. He could have charged me a $200 dollar service fee (I am nowhere near him) but he walked me through some trouble shooting over the phone and it ended up being that I simply needed to change out the shower head for $15! This is very unfortunate that I write this review because this business was recommended to me by some very reliable friends. We signed a contract in July of 2021 to have this business owner reroof our rv and do some other work on it. He failed to start the work as discussed, instead sent someone else and it was a constant hit and miss as to when they would show up. We made numerous efforts to contact owner to get days and time someone would show up. Work on the roof took over a month to complete, and the other work on the rv is yet to be done.We have called, texted, emailed the business owner and the only replies we get is a text saying he will call at a certain time or show up to finish the job but never does either. So it's been 5 months now and as of today Dec.6,2020 he is still a no show. We paid part of what he required for parts and a bit more but he not only owes us money but the parts to finish the job as stated in our contract..There is absolutely No personal communication with this business owner and he seems to have a pattern of this type and there is at least 1 complaint with the BBB at this time. We would Not recommend using this business under any circumstances. He has yet to prove to us that he or any of his workers are reliable or that as a business owner he cares about his reputation. Our neighbor who is a retired mechanic needed help with his RV used Robert as well. He was able to help him figure out an issue with his Alternator and get him on his way. UPDATE Robert pulled a bait and switch on us !!the 1st repair went ok so I trusted him and thought ThatI had found a legitimate repair man for my RV however that did not turn out to be the case . Jan of this year I had finally saved enuff $$ to get my trailer shower repaired I told Robert I lived in it full time so needed it fixed ASAP he assured me he could do the job but would only do the repair if I PAID HIM UP FRONT for parts which I agreed to provided he would give me an invoice and paid receipt... so I give this man the money and get NO INVOICE or RECEIPT EVER ( OBVIOUSLY HE NEEDED MY MONEY 4 SOMETHING ELSE) what I got instead was 3 months of him ducking me and excuses of why he WOULD NOT give me an invoice and finally him telling me he will not able to do the repair REALLY after 3 months of you cashed my check YOU CANT do the repair ??? I have been waiting for Robert to finish outstanding items on my Diesel Pusher. I initially met him last May and after using him for an emergency service I had him come back out a couple of months later to complete some service and repair work. I have been beyond extremely patient. He started some of the work and it took several months to get a couple of the items completed but others were still incomplete. I previously posted a poor review back around the first of the year because he was unresponsive. He then immediately called me back and promised to make things right so I took down the review. It is now April and the work was still not completed. He has no showed for the last three appointments (keep in mind I have to arrange to have my unit pulled out of storage) without a courtesy call or follow up. He does not return calls or messages. I finally had to take my coach in to finish the work. Not only am I out of a lot of wasted time, he has parts to my coach that I paid for and he has not returned my calls to give them back to me. On one of the jobs he had told me it was almost completed and when I took it in, the repair shop showed me no work had been started. Seems like a nice guy but is totally unreliable.
