So happy with our experience! Each of us loved every bite of our food and drinks. I ordered 3 tacos a la carts and each one was delicious. I had the shrimp diablo, pork chicharrones, and the Al pastor. My husband and papa got the short rib enchiladas and ate every bite. It is unfortunate that I have to write this, as my fiancée and i have enjoyed coming here, however when the server and staff do not side with the server and honor their coupons, it is not fair, nor is it right. The food is good and the ambiance is nice, but if you do not have nice servers and staff siding with the customer, it is unfair. Thankfully, they conceded, but not without bringing it up. I had a concerning experience. I ordered a three-taco plate and specifically told the waiter I couldn't have dairy. While I didn't explicitly say "allergy," I emphasized I cannot have it. At first, it seemed fine, the waiter even highlighted the dairy-free sides when the food was brought to the table. But halfway through my second taco, I found cheese. When I explained I have a dairy allergy, the waiter just kept offering to remake it, not understanding the severity. I had to repeatedly clarify that I cannot eat dairy. I had to leave to get Benadryl from the cvs right next to it. While they eventually comped the tacos, no one directly apologized to me, and the waiter never showed concern when I mentioned my allergy. We finally had the chance to try Mochilero and we don't know why we haven't sooner. It will definitely be added to our list of favorites! Taco Tuesday is a must! You get three tacos and a side for $12.50. The tacos are loaded and full of flavor! We tried the carne asada, al pastor, shrimp diablo, pork chicharron, and short rib taco. I can't decide which taco was our favorite. We also had the nachos, chile relleno and veggie stack. So delicious! We finished with the tres leches butter cake, very good, but I prefer the traditional tres leches cake. Our server Nayelli was super friendly and genuine. We've been looking for a really good Mexican restaurant and finally found one! Mochilero offers healthy, tasty, scratch cooking with a lot of variety. Patio seating is fun: we celebrated a friend's birthday one night. Today I'm here alone because I was craving their food. My server, Lauren, was patient and enthusiastic. The Ahi Salad was delicious and so fresh. I think that their guacamole and plantain chips are the best in town. They use cilantro microgreens, tiny amounts of pineapple and jalapeño. We went as four to Mochiero Kitchen in Scottsdale on a lovely Sunday evening. It was not super crowded and there was ample seating, even outside on the very nice patio. The service was super friendly and attentive. We thought that the food was good and it arrived quickly. Three of us ordered enchiladas. We ordered chicken tinga, short rib and manchengo cheese enchiladas. The black beans Oand rice, and the refried bean options were also good. I really enjoyed that the enchiladas were not smothered in heavy cheeses. The burrito that our friend ordered was tasty, and a very generous serving. ( see photo ) I especially liked the salsa verde, not so much the red sauce as it was very, very mild. All of us thought that the guacamole was really good. First off it absolutely has a foul SMELL!!! Second of all they have no desire to make customers happy. I called for 3 days to try and talk to someone and nobody answered. I left messages and nobody called me back. When I did reach someone the manager Daniel had no authority to do anything. He told me to email the owner. I did and never heard back. There were 4 of us and everyone ended up taking home our meals because we couldn't sit there any longer. My husband has asthma and was sensitive to the smell and became physically ill. When we brought it to our servers attention he said we would get used to it. After spending $90 for 2 of us, only 1 drink we will NEVER be back. I've been wanting to try this cute place for months now since we live so close; went for brunch on a Saturday morning and were the only ones in there for about 45 mins.! Decorated very cute, nice spacing between tables and just a very cool vibe. Service was fair. Only 1 girl doing the greeting, seating, phone orders AND serving makes for a slower than expected experience for sure. Cooks could have helped her run food, IMO. I had the veggie bowl and my friend had the short rib bowl; both were great. I had a jalapeno marg which was surprisingly quite spicy (in a good way!) and she had a sangria that she said was good. Beautiful staff! Beautiful restaurant, very casual and comfortable. Lovely patio. The food is amazing! I think our table tried all the tacos on the menu and every single one was delicious. The three salsas they have are soo good. The queso.... with chorizo. .. wow... you have to get it. One thing one the menu we didn't like was the "squash steak" it's actually eggplant and no one liked it. We thought we were getting actual squash (acorn, spaghetti squash maybe zucchini)... we didn't think it would be eggplant..The manager and staff made it right and were so kind about the misunderstanding. Michelada was off the charts and the margarita house I had was even better. I wasn't very hungry so I asked the bartender for a good recommendation and she recommended the à la cart tacos.. First, the guacamole was nice and chunky and a decent amount. . My margarita was good, too, while my friend had wine. Decompression as needed... After checking with our server (sorry, don't remember her name), we decided that sharing one dish would be sufficient. We both love mole, so that was the choice - chicken, although I tend to not eat only fish and veggies. It was quite good; mole is not that easy to get right, either. You're also suppose to get to choose a salsa but our waitress didn't ask and just brought us one. It was okay - more of a smokey flavor than what I like. We almost ordered queso but it was $13... for a cup of cheese. We got the chicken tinga enchiladas ($16- you get to choose your sauce) and they were quite tasty. Portion size was generous. We also got a regular margarita ($10) & the cantaloupe margarita ($12). My husband said the regular wasn't anything special. My cantaloupe one was surprisingly delicious! They weren't crowded but we had to stand and wait while the bartender stared at us. Upon being seated, we were asked if it was our first time there, but so what, they could have cared less. Again being nearly empty, it look a long time to bring us our drinks. The requested wine was out of stock and the other choice was poor. The iced tea could have fueled our car. Their food was terrible - the skirt steak was past well done and way over peppered with crushed peppercorns as was the enchilada. Our server never inquired as to how we enjoyed our meal.
