This location is very busy, was a Friday evening and it's located in a busy/noisy food market area (multiple stalls in a small area). Not easy to find parking and will require a walk, so don't roll up expecting to grab and go. Unfortunately the DoorDash app didn't submit my request and I arrived with nothing setup in advance after fighting through traffic on my way home from work, wife waiting at home. Meant I had to wait in the queue which took around 20 minutes for a half dozen. Then, as I was riding a motorcycle, had to chuck it into a backpack and they had no bags to keep it from leaking frosting inside the backpack (boxes have holes). Donuts were hot and fresh, but a mushed pile of dough and sugar when I got it home. Still tasted good, but the experience was bittersweet. The corn dog was crunch, warm, a bit spicy. It was substantial and had a great mouth feel. It was a show stopping piece of food. The original donut was good. A nice dough with a glaze that snapped. Crunchy on the outside and spongy on the inside. Would recommend. The sleeper and star of the show was the iced tea. It looks like the wrong color...but it was the best tasting Thai tea I have ever had. It almost felt light compared to other Thai teas. Mochinut is a great quick eat if you're in San Pedro Square. The breaded outside is so filling and crunchy, and it's all made to order so you know it is fresh. The kiosk made ordering a lot more efficient since there wasn't anyone tending to the front when we went. The ambiance is really good because its a communal eating space for all of the vendors so think of an urban space vibe. Overall it was a good quick bite, but it was forgettable. The matcha isn't too sweet and you get the delicate light bitterness of the tea that comes through. Lemon Meringue I confused this as passion fruit initially. It's got a nice citrus tone to it. Seems like they use the same marshmallow topping as the marshmallow brulee donut for the drizzles. Marshmallow Brulee Not a bad flavor. I thought it was some sort of toasted s'mores. So my family and I came down here from Sacramento on Sunday to celebrate a birthday. San Pedro Square is a cool spot in SJ that has multiple food and drink options, as well as live music. I took them inside, where we immediately noticed that the ice cream place was shut down, which was kind of a bummer. The only other place we found inside was Mochinut, so we decided to give it a shot. My kids picked out what they wanted, and we waited for one of the two ladies working behind the counter to take out order. At one point,my five year old rang the little service bell, mostly just because she like the sound of it. One of the ladies behind the counter (a younger African American girl) looked over at me sideways like we had no right to be there. I said sorry, and we continued to patiently wait, without much acknowledgement. After waiting for about 8-10 minutes, the same girl acknowledged us again, and had a little attitude on her. She wasn't very good at projecting her voice, but was great at projecting her funky little attitude. She appeared to say that we needed to order on the touch screen instead of having her taking like 30 seconds to take our super complicated order of three donuts to go. She could have said that several minutes ago, and done it without treating us like dirt. It's not our fault you have to work on a Sunday, sweety. Most of use have been there. Stop acting like an ass. The way this girl responded, I didn't even want to give them my money, and we left. It actually served as a great lesson for my kids. Never give your time, money, or attention to someone who's being disrespectful to you. We ended up going to the Gelato shop in the other building, where the employee there was super cool, took our order right away, and even let my kids get some free samples.
