These delightful pillowy doughnuts are so so delicious. I have been tempted to stop by as i pass the store everyday on my way home from work. Today I finally gave in and had the nutella mochi doughnut. It was so so good I wish I had gotten more (perhaps i will tomorrow). They are reasonably priced and have the perfect amount of sweetness. Cute & tasty. This shop just recently opened up and I've been waiting ever since I noticed they put a sign up outside of the 400 Fairview building (a month or so?). I went during the soft-opening so the flavor options were limited and you could only order a 6 pack or a dozen at the time. The ube-flavored boba drink is delicious. Like drinking ice cream delicious. The donuts are a fun novelty that is something out of the ordinary. I tried the nutella donut this week, and I think I prefer something more plain. The nutella one comes with whipped cream on top but I'm pretty sure it's not made with real cream. Came here for a quick afternoon snack during work one day! The donuts were already prepared in the back so it took little to no time to get my donut. In terms of the flavor of the donut, I was disappointed that there was a lack of ube flavor. The cashier did tell me that there wouldn't be any ube flavor in the actual donut itself, but the fruit loops taste overpowered the ube (if there was any!). The donut was super fun to pull apart so it easy to eat. The dough was super chewy and soft, definitely like a mochi! Beware, though, the donut is a little heavy and can leave you feeling queasy if you eat a lot of it at once! If you aren't fond of heavy foods, definitely share with a friend. Super excited that Mochinut opened! It is in the space on Fairview that used to have Kai Market (RIP). They only sell the donuts in 6 or 12 quantities, so be sure to keep that in mind. A half dozen box is $16.50 and a full dozen is $33. They had milk pebble, churro, strawberry, matcha, chocolate with some kind of nut, and yuzu (I think). We got one of each and the donuts are delicious - very chewy and soft, you can definitely taste the mochi-ness of it. They are quite sweet so I recommend pairing it with coffee or tea. The flavors aren't as strong as I anticipated, so I couldn't necessarily tell all of the flavors apart. Overall, still thought they were tasty, super cute, and would go back. read more

A new mochi donut place in Seattle and I had to try it out!! I loved all of the different flavors, but my favorites were the churro and taro! They seem to make all the donuts fresh & on the spot too, it was cool to watch the guy pumping out the dough to be fried haha. The texture and chewiness were perfect, but after a couple of hours the donuts became really soggy and the icing on top started to fall off :/ I never experienced this with Dochi donuts in the past which typically can keep their texture a couple of days after. Staff were all super friendly too. However, when our order was done nobody let us know. We were standing right in front of where they package the donuts and had to ask one of the girls putting it together if the box that was already finished was ours. However, we did come during a really busy time (line was out the door) and one of the first days they were opened. Hopefully they'll improve on this! They take both cash & card. There's also minimal street parking, so I'd probably avoid coming here during busy DT hours. I'd definitely come back to try their other flavors! read more

A couple of issues I had that completely ruined the experience for me. The donuts tasted okay fresh, but not enough to salvage the shortcomings. 1. If you buy less than 3, they put it in cheap plastic containers. Just a minor inconvenience until we realized that these containers trap moisture in the box, so a few hours after purchase, the quality of the donut significantly declines. By the next day, all you're left with is a soggy mess that tastes like oil. 2. I don't quite understand why you have to buy a minimum of 3. Any other donut shop allows this, just seems like a money grab to me. The boxing just made it an even more unpleasant experience. 3. Their website advertises 25 flavors, but the store only offers 6. I understand that due to kitchen limitations, but that's misleading. They also advertise hotdogs on the menu, but it is not offered here either. read more

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting much because a lot of pastries claiming to be mochi-based don't taste mochi-like at all, but this had the perfect chewy-ness and light crunch on the outside that I prefer. The perfect description I heard was Dochi donuts are donut (flour) forward and Mochinut is mochi (rice) forward. I vote Mochinut. My fave is the unglazed! I absolutely love mochi donuts....I just can't get over the soft, mochi texture! I would always choose mochi donuts over any regular one. So you can imagine my excitement when I found out that Mochinut was in walking distance of my apartment. Knowing about the super long lines, I waited until an hour before closing to pick up my donuts (you always should treat yourself after a long day of work afterall). While the staff were friendly and the donuts did have that mochi texture I was looking for, there were a couple things that I found lacking. -There were only 6 flavors, even though the website makes it seem like there were a lot more. This might be because they just opened recently, but they also might have a rotating menu and only prep a couple flavors at any given time. They were also selling $16 for 6 donuts, which come out at around $2.67, a bit pricey in my opinion. -You have to buy a minimum of 6 donuts and the quantity that you purchase has to be a factor of 6 (i.e. 12,18, etc.). Given that I love donuts, this wasn't too much of a problem, but it would be good to know ahead of time for those who might only be looking to eat one or two. -They don't offer fried corn dogs at this location (at least not yet)!! I was most disappointed in this, since I was really looking forward to them. The website is deceiving and there are even pictures of corn dogs on the donut boxes! -The donut flavors were fine, but nothing out of this world. The texture was great, but the flavors were a bit subdued by the intense fried dough flavor. Overall, it's fun to check out if you're looking to buy bulk donuts and want something new. We went a week after they opened on a Sunday, so there was a line but only 3-4 teams ahead of us. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't crowded. My bf and I looked online and chose some flavors to be disappointed when we got to the place and they only had 6 flavors available and no Mochi dogs( the website mentioned they had those corn dog Mochi on a stick available). Beware to come to the store to pick your flavors to avoid the disappointment. But the donuts were as expected, chewy, delicious and they packed it up quickly to get you out the door. I think I paid almost $40 for a dozen which is steep for donuts but I get that it's trendy and fun. Save your money and don't get the dozen, not worth it but come and buy 1-2 for the road. read more

I so love mochi doughnuts. They're the perfect amount of sweet, light, and buttery every time. I especially love Mochinut because of the ever changing flavor combinations they offer each week. My go-tos are anything Ube and Nutella. They also do a great job with the fruit flavors, using real ingredients so it never tasted too processed. I've been eating mochi donuts for years in Taiwan/Japan and love that I've been seeing some spots pop up in the US lately. I've tried a few spots on the East Coast and nothing has really measured up to mochi donuts in Asia until now. Service was quick and friendly, and donuts tasted fresh. I ordered 3 (for $8.50) - Melona, Mango, and Vietnamese Coffee and loved all of them. Super intense strong flavors, and the texture of the donut was right - not too heavy, and with enough "al dente" bite and chewiness to them. Good mochi-like texture in the donut part, but the glazes were too sweet for me compared to the place we tried in Hawaii (MoDo). We got a half dozen with Nutella almond, ube, churro, and mango. The glazes for all the glazed ones tasted much more like sugar than like the named flavor. My favorite was the churro, which tasted more natural / less artificial, and it wasn't sickly sweet because it didn't have glaze. These mochi donuts are very Instagrammable and pretty, in shape and color, but the taste is not really there for me (maybe flavors other than the ones we got are better?). We went on a rainy afternoon, and there was still a bit of a wait, though not as bad with the grand opening lines (which we didn't wait around for on previous weekends). While we waited for our donuts (it was admittedly fun to watch the preparation process), they had to tell multiple people that the corndogs are not and will not be available at this location--maybe put a sign up so people don't wait in line to find that out? Tip: check their Instagram for which flavors are available to see if the one you want is there that day. read more

It's soooooo yummy! The donuts are not like American's. They are a mixture of donut and mochi, so they are chewy. One bite into it, I already love its chewiness, moist, not overly sweet and great texture. They are very addictive. Of all, I enjoyed the Signature Ube the most and the Pocky Milky one the least but i still devoured them in a blink of an eye. They are so cute looking that I hate to bite into them! Only 6 flavors. 2) Want a fried corn dog? This place has the best mochi donut I've ever had! At other places I've had mochi donuts and they've been hard and extremely chewy, and quite dense- this place has super fluffy melt in your mouth donuts with a very light and bouncy texture. The matcha flavor is a thin crust on top and it's not too sweet a donut, the perfect light snack. It also comes with a pocky stick of the same flavor on top! The pocky stick has a good flavor too and seems like it was made in house. There is a lot of seating that's cute and has many plants around, the shop also has some cutely themed merchandise such as shirts and tote bags. It's cheaper to buy a lot of donuts at once but I think most people just get one at a time. A good place to stop for a little treat! read more

This is another aesthetic establishment aimed to please your Instagram stories (if you have aesthetic food, you need an aesthetic background of course!). They have a bunch of different flavors and seasonal. We had the coconut mint chocolate (tasted like peppermint York patty), guava (my favorite out of all of them), and a Fourth of July special - wild berry cheesecake. This place is worth going out of your way to try. These donuts are very interesting, light and chewy. They have a slightly chewy texture, like mochi, and the flavors are unique. I really enjoyed the Strawberry, Churro, and Green Tea flavor. Service was a little slow but definitely friendly and enthusiastic. They'll work out the slow service with some practice.
