So for the first time last night I ordered a box of pizza at 7:40 p.m. via online. It was said that it will be ready around 7:56 p.m. so I went to the store to pick up my pizza at around 7:55 p.m. just to make sure that they did not missed my order. But unfortunately it was missed. Five stars to the employees working this past Friday night, there was a huge crowd that came in about 10 minutes after me. The pizza was great. While staying one night (Mar. 19, 2022) in Daly City I found this place within 10 minutes of my hotel. I had a thin crust pepperoni and it is a very good pizza. Walk up to a counter to order and it took about 15 minutes to get my pizza. There was seating inside but no outdoor tables. Most of the time, the pizza takes no longer than 10-15 minutes, just depends on how busy they are. They were all quite good. The hot honey is crack. It's so good and addictive. No wonder the person making my pizza asked if I only wanted one hot honey. I should have asked for two. I was really surprised by the pizzas here. After hearing about Pieology closing down, I was super hesitant to try this place to satisfy my pizza craving. But in the end, I'm glad I dragged my family here for pizza night. The concept is the same - fast-casual, BYO pizza. I think some of the qualities that make MOD Pizza stand out are the mini-sized pizzas and cracker-like crust that can actually hold all the ingredients. I got the mini Mad Dog, but added extra sausage (because I thought the employees were skimping on the meat). But the people working the counter are actually very friendly and patient. Definitely different from the poor customer service I usually got from Pieology workers. I'm gonna have to come back again to try their other pizza combos. :) My only advice would be to take advantage of all the pizza toppings they offer, since they don't charge you extra for it anyway. read more

The one we designed was fully loaded with bacon, chicken, an assortment of roasted veggies, multiple kinds of cheeses, etc and really had a good bite to each slice. The Lucy Sunshine, though not bad, was more like a garlic cracker with some tomato sauce on top. Pizzas come out quick and staff is friendly. After falling pretty hard for Blaze I really wanted to try the newer-to-the-Bay Mod to see how it stacks up. The line was waaaaay shorter than at Blaze and the energy was a bit chaotic. It seemed like a lot of the employees were scrambling to know their roll and there was a lot of yelling going on. Not a good first sign but I was glad I didn't have to wait 35 minutes in line. I went with a similar but not identical order to Blaze - half pepperoni, pineapple and jalapeño with red sauce, half chicken, spicy sausage, onions, and mushrooms with pesto. Mozzarella on bottom and a little parm on top. Off the jump I don't like the crust as much as Blaze and miss that little extra cornmeal crunch. It's not bad it's just a bit bland and doesn't really bring any flavor to the profile. The veggie toppings were nice and fresh and the meats were average but the pesto really had a great bold flavor. For $8.47 it's hard to argue with the value but it didn't really grab me in any way. Just average. Initially they handed me the wrong pizza and I'm glad I checked before I left because that would have really dampened my experience. The staff seemed confused but they were overall pleasant. It won't keep me from coming back but it was a tad overwhelming. HOWEVER they have a "No Name Cake" which is essentially a fresh high quality Ding Dong and it is GREAT! The inside cream filling reminds me of Krispy Kreme's and the cake is super moist with a legitimate devils food cocoa flavor. Will absolutely grab one of these again when I craft another cheap fix pizza! read more

What happened Mod? Over the past several months, Mod has become a family favorite. It's classic California, with cracker-thin crust, and loaded with toppings. Until today, that is. I am grateful that Mod is open during the COVID-19 shelter-in-place order. Since today is movie night for the family, I called up Mod and ordered a pizza for takeout. I requested (and the IVR on the phone confirmed) an 11" Mod "create your own" pizza with pepperoni, extra cheese, artichoke hearts, and black olives. I was smelling it all the way home, and was getting excited. I got home, opened the box, and almost cried. My pizza came with almost zero cheese, exactly zero pepperoni, and a smattering of olives and artichoke hearts, mostly clumped in the middle. Picture attached. I understand that the place is busy, with only 4 people working to create the normally awesome pizzas that Mod has become known for. But quality should not be compromised. I was surprised at how delicious my pizza was! I have tried literally every DIY pizza place in the area and had yet to be wowed. MOD has high quality ingredients and the options are endless. The fact that you can pick a drizzle topping after the pizza has already been baked is pretty awesome. I have come here twice and ordered my own recipe and enjoyed it equally each time. They also have craft beer and it is discounted on Tuesdays! The employees are really friendly and the seating is huge. You can sit inside or outside. 10.15.21 Tonight's visit from 8pm to 8.20pm was great. Not much people so we were able to order and didn't wait much longer. We had 1 regular (red sauce and veggies + pineapple) and 2 minis( both on red sauce, one with veggies and ricotta, while the other was just pepperoni and lots of mozzarella). The person assigned at the pizza pick up area was friendly and funny. All of them looked enthusiastic at their job. My husband noticed the "lead" not sure if she was, when she mentioned firmly to change gloves after touching one of the food there. She wears eyeglasses and the one giving commands on what to do next. This person knows what food safety is. Kudos to her and the team who obeys joyfully and working harmoniously. read more

I freaking love this place!!! I've never been to a build-your-own-pizza place quite like this before but I am a fan! So the way it works is you pay a set price for a thin crust pizza depending on the size, and you can heap as many toppings on there as you want! The sizes are: -6" mini pizza for $5.47 -11" regular pizza for $8.47 -double crust 11" mega pizza for $11.47 I also saw some stuff about salads but who cares about that when you're about to get pizza? :P Once you pick a size, you choose all the different sauces, proteins and veggies to pile on, and this is where you can really go crazy. My mind was blown that I could get both a tomato-based pizza sauce *and* pesto sauce on the same pizza. Of course, me being the carnivore that I am, I put at least half of the different meat toppings on there and some veggies as well. You can see in my picture there was a veritable mountain of toppings on my pizza right before it went into the oven. I was a little bit dubious about the end result, but I was very pleasantly surprised when my pizza came out and the toppings had compressed by quite a lot after baking. And even more surprised when I took my first couple bites and the thin crust was still somehow crispy even as the pizza was loaded with sauces and toppings! I only finished half the pizza (I had a regular 11") before I started getting full, so I decided to save the remaining half for lunch the next day. I thought this whole meal was such a steal, as it comes out to a little under $10 for a fully loaded 11" pizza which lasted me for two meals! There was plenty of seating at this location in Serramonte (right next to the Target!) and when we went around 7 pm on a Sunday, it was pretty empty. Definitely one of my favorite places to grab a bite at Serramonte! Their pizza is freshly prepped and you pay for the size with unlimited toppings. I usually get the MOD mini which is only available during their lunch time --definitely like a personal pizza size. The toppings let you customize your pizza to make it light and healthy if you get mostly veggies or as indulgent as you'd like with the cheese and meats. If you feel like they were a bit light handed on the topping of your choice let them know and they usually have no issues drizzling on some more.
