I'm a fan of the pizza at MOD, but what makes me a regular is the build your own salad. For $11.50 I can have a huge tossed fresh salad with more than 30 different toppings of my choice. That includes about five different cheeses, 6 types of meat, tons of veggies, pineapples, garlic.... It is a feast for one or can be split 2-4 times for a economical side salad if your group is eating pizza. I'm a huge salad bar fan, but this is so much better because of the options and you don't have to worry about who has handled the serving utensils or food before you. In case you're curious, I like mine with Romaine and spinach, asiago, feta, parmesan, bacon, canadian bacon, peperoni, ham, tomatoes, red onion, pineapple, jalapeños, cucumber, chopped garlic, croutons and all tossed up with zesto roma dressing. The wood fired oven gives the pizza a great flavor. The pizza comes out pretty fast, but you have time to get situated at a table. The offer of a few beers and seltzers is also a nice touch. I had the Mad Dog and added mushrooms and got a great side of pesto sauce. My GF got the limited-time Chicken Bacon Ranch and she said it was a great change from the every day pizza. The people behind the counter are smiling and seem to like their work. I noticed a brisk take-away business, so consider that, too. Visiting at noon on Monday, this location was plenty busy and nearly overwhelmed. Despite this, my wait time was decent and my pizza was very tasty. I ordered a seasonal Cheesy Backyard Burger pizza, which I thought was especially good. I also enjoyed a free "no name" dessert for signing up on the app. It's a chocolate cake with creme in the middle. I personally am glad I didn't buy the thing. Each time I have been to this location, the pizza and service has been very satisfactory. While I am not a pizza foodie, I do recognize good or great pizza. MOD is definitely not a slice from NY, however the cauliflower crust was rather tasty as I endeavor to watch my carb intake. I had a Greek salad it was rather good as well. So for the food it was (4.5). The young lady who took the order and made the salad was absolutely wonderful and helpful seeing that it was my first visit to MOD Pizza (4.5). Atmosphere was great, space was tidy and clean. So the reason that I had to give a 3 rating was that the guy handling the oven did not wear gloves and I noticed as he touched the pizza off the prep tray he would wipe his hands on his jeans (no apron). Knowing a little about the food industry I approached him on my departure and told him meal was good. However I asked him not trying to offend him or MOD Pizza why was he not wearing gloves as he was handling food (while not my pizza, I observed him using his ungloved fingers put meat back on pizza). His response was that is how we do it at MOD Pizza and the health inspectors had recently visited and thought nothing of his food handling manners. I just shook my head, because everyone on the line wore food handling gloves. While the food, service and Atmosphere were nice, it is rather difficult for me to patronize a place who's staff has a total disregard to basic sanitary method of food handling, and says that it is the company norm. read more

But when there are multiples of cheese, multiples of meat crumbles and then the person asks me, "What kind of cheese/meat do you want...!?" Um.. as I stated, "I don't know. What kind DO YOU HAVE!?" Come on people. They need to have a printed off menu or large sign of everything you offer. Don't force people to guess or ask every time. That is inefficient and rude for everyone. I noticed the ordering took a long time for everyone, and it just builds up and other people are waiting on you because you have no clue what all they offer. It's a mess.. SO.. once that is done.. The pizza was really good! hahaha. I do wish mine could have been cooked longer, and maybe I can ask for that.. if I ever go back. But it was seriously good. Everyone I was with (four others) liked the pizza. Food 4+ stars, ordering 1 to 2 stars. I do feel they are a touch high, but it was a tasty pizza. Just take care of that ordering process!!! My biggest complaint is that the girl helping us seemed very irritated in helping us with our order and proceeded to yell across the restaurant (though she was standing right in front of us) "we cannot guarantee our pizzas are diary free because of the way they come out of the oven, so don't sue us!" I thought this behavior was quite rude and a bit embarrassing for me! This same girl had helped my sister with her order just before me (my sister also enjoys a plant based diet) and she had ordered a vegetarian pizza with dairy free cheese and ended up with a piece of bacon on her pizza. I got home from work tonight old, grumpy and crusty! So, I decided to try a pizza parlor that I had never been to. MOD is located in Antioch Crossing a short distance from where I live. Stepping up to the counter, I pull out my list of toppings and place my order. In just a few moments I heard my name called and I picked up, what I would describe as, a very tasty pizza. On original crust I added red sauce, assaggio cheese, artichokes, black olives, green peppers, jalapenos peppers, pepperoni, ground beef, and hot Italian sausage. The crust was perfectly golden brown with a little flakiness to it. The red sauce had good flavor and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. I can assure you I did not leave hungry! We walked in and he rushed us through and even shut off the soda machine when we we're paying. Management should fire him so he can learn actions have consequences. This pizza was AMAZING! I'm not sure I'll be able to go back to regular pizza anymore. The concept is like the chipotle or subway of the pizza world--choose your crust type (including cauliflower) and then you can choose a menu combination or just go down the row and point at whatever tickles your fancy at the moment. We got 2 for our family--the buffalo chicken and the meat lovers plus lots of veggies added on top, including some gorgeous carmelized garlic. They have all these fancy sauces, too. We got pesto on the meat lovers and balsamic fig sauce on both. It was to die for!!!! The gal who served us was obviously interested in actually helping us and liked her job. The food was ready in 6 minutes literally, and it only cost about $10 each. I would probably assume you should anticipate one pizza feeding 2 adults. Arrived right as I was getting my food. However, one wasn't made with the correct dough. A woman with red hair, I believe named Emily fixed the problem immediately. We went home with two pizzas and tried the dessert cakes (which we thought wouldn't be as good as they are). We are repeat customers and prefer build your own pizzas to get the best. Some tips: Limit sauces on the traditional MOD, it can be overwhelmed-Put pesto on last. We personally don't think the rise in the "thick crust" is worth the 2$ but to each their own. Walked in with my small sized service dog with his vest on and one lady asked to take my dog outside and another lady very nice told her my dog was a service dog walked out after ordering and came back in to get my pizza with my service dog's paper and held them where she could see them. Never once did she look or even bother to look. She was very rude. I love going to Mod Pizza because it tends to be a great place, but denying my clearly service dog is very rude. Decided to get a Make-Your-Own pizza with the Mega Crust (for $2 more). Unfortunately, I received the normal crust despite having paid extra. It was a simple mistake as when I went to pick up my pizza, they were extremely busy with online orders and people coming in and out to pick their pizzas up. I've eaten at MOD Pizza one time and it was a great experience. They have a ton of toppings. They put plenty of cheese on the pizza, and it's actually delicious. It's similar to ordering at Chipotle.
