    Calexico

Pizza and salad were both fresh and delish! Ordered the Calexico and Ceasar Salad. You could definitely share for a quick lighter lunch or go solo for a nice Dinner! Toppings were plentiful and fresh. Lemonade was slightly sweet and tangy. Service was smooth and pretty quick. Dining room topsand was neat and they had plenty of seats both low and high tables. Will definitely return

6in Tristan sans mushrooms and Asiago

I came here for a super late lunch and it def. hit the spot. I love this place because you can make any of their pizzas customizable, from their crust to the toppings. For today, I got the 6in Tristan with no Asiago and no mushrooms. It came out super quick and just how I like it. Oh, and if you're thinking the 6 inch is too small, it's actually a perfect amount. I hope to try a different pie next time.

Came here while on a business trip and I wanted to grab something quick to eat. I waited in a line of 3 people before me, which took 25 mins to get through. I finally got to order, and there was no greeting or anything. I informed them what I wanted and it came out less than 10 minutes later. Overall, ok food, and poor service. If you want something quick, don't come here. Very slow workers and no supervision .

    Shroom special, $8

Mod gets a ton of things right. It's prices, the amount of toppings you can get and the fact that it's a pizza from a fire oven. All of that for under $10. On this particular visit, I had their $8 shroom pizza which was sausage, mushrooms, spinach, mushroom pesto and cheese. Great combo and an unbeatable price, almost makes me want to stop by tmrw :) staff are friendly, but pizzas can take some time even when ordering ahead. Also, tables while dining in are eternally sticky. It's as if someone had placed stickers all over them and then scraped them off. But the pizza is money, and that's what I'm coming back for.

Mod your pizza. Mod your way. The buffalo chicken pizza was great I added bacon to it. Also ranch was a game changer. Loved dipping the pizza in their ranch. Pizza comes out quick great pit stop.

Quick bite to eat after church. Employees were very friendly and patient with my indecisiveness. Not a lot of traffic. Was able to find a seat instantly and eat. They had both indoor and outdoor seating. They had a Blackberry Lemonade (which I mixed with a Prickly Pear Sweet tea Bc Arnold Palmer) which was refreshing. Had a Jasper pizza (Mozz, Mushroom, Spicy Chicken Sausage, and I added bacon) and was very good for a lunch meal. I forgot how good MOD was

Okay. The pizza is good. It's easy to go in an order the staff is nice and not super stingy w the toppings. The atmosphere is nice w decent music and the level is appropriate. The Mod No Name Cake is where it's at. The last time I came they were sold out. I came today and spotted one left. I was cringing as people walked past it until it was my turn then I got it ! I did a happy dance inside.

I planned to order online and do a pickup but the Green with Envy sandwich I wanted is not listed on their online order menu so I had to go in person. I stood in line for about 20 minutes which was expected, I know how busy it gets. When you get to the front to order it is chaos. Someone comes and asks what you want and then just yells it to the rest of the team. Both myself and the person in front of me got to the register and our food was not even started because they couldn't keep up with the orders and nothing was written down. Just very disorganized considering how popular it is. It was decorated nicely for Christmas but that didn't distract from the service. The green with envy is delicious but it didn't travel well; it pretty much melted and fell apart by the time I got home. I also ordered a Greek goddess salad which was nothing special. The ginger cookie was delicious and a nice size. Hopefully some changes are made to make this place run better because otherwise it just really isn't worth the trouble.

This establishment is more of a pickup spot rather than a sit-down restaurant. There's only one small table with two chairs. I didn't mind grabbing food to go, but I would've preferred the option to sit down and eat comfortably. Parking was easy, with plenty of spots available in the lot, which was a plus. As for the service, it was just okay. Since it was my first visit, I had a lot of questions. They were answered, but the interaction felt very minimal. I didn't really feel welcomed or invited, which took away a bit from the overall experience. Overall, decent food and convenient parking, but the atmosphere and service could be warmer.

It must be attracting the wrong kind of…read morecustomers, the kind of people more than happy to regale you for hours on end with their opinion about the seasoning on the tendies at Cane's. I don't need to know these people personally to be able to name the 10 CDs they owned back in the 1990s. (If they weren't around back in the '90s, obviously I wouldn't want their opinion about anything.) Shake Shack isn't as good as Hi Pointe, but it's good enough that I wouldn't drive past a Shake Shack to get to a Hi Pointe if, for some reason, I just had to drop a Section 8 rent payment on my lunch. I was only there yesterday because I was meeting people, and I figured I'd go all out since I might never return. I didn't get the most elaborate sandwich, but more so because the specialty selections sounded, erm, ridiculous to me, to use currently acceptable terminology. But you best believe I got both a shake and the weirdly pale-looking cheese goo on my fries. I notice they nickel and dime you on various add-ons and options, e.g. whipped cream on your shake and what have you, which seems kinda pathetic, but it still ends up being less than you'd spend at a Five Guys. But that's true of literally anywhere you can shop in 2026, including Hermès. I appreciate the fact that you can order via kiosk, like at a Panera. It saves you from having to explain how you'd like your sandwich to the staff, which may or may not consist of Ladue residents. (They honestly seemed lovely.) Ordering my Double ShackBurger, I noticed that it comes standard with lettuce and tomato but no pickle or onion, which are available free of charge, so I went ahead and took care of that. The weird cheese gloop on the fries is only $0.50 extra, but I don't know how necessary it is. As its complexion (so to speak) suggests, it lacks the tang of stadium nacho cheese. It's not bad, but I would have been fine with just ketchup. Crinkle-cut fries are no one's preference (literally no one), but these might be the GOAT crinkle-cut fries. They're crisp to the point where they held up even under the gloop, but they weren't all dried out. They wanted another $0.50 for the whipped cream on my Cookies and Cream Shake. Are they saving up to go play Pac-Man? The shake was nearly impossible to suck through a straw when I got it (ahem), and that's even before you account for the bits of off-brand Oreo cookie. I wish they'd give you one of those bigger straws, not just a regular soda straw. If they're doing that for the environment, I might have to get the president involved. For some reason, they made my burger twice. They brought out a tray with everything on it, including my burger, and then later they brought out another burger. As a result, I ended up eating two double cheeseburgers, cheese fries and a shake. It wasn't my finest hour. I shudder to think how many calories I consumed. The guys I was there with (no Diddy), who were all runners, were shocked and appalled. They're not ginormous burgers, but I notice the buns are a little bit smaller, so the meat and various toppings hang out over the edge. It's an odd bun, weirdly soft and chewy, with a flavor that calls to mind the more premium/non-WIC hot dog buns they carry at the nearby Schnucks. The meat didn't seem to be as high quality as the meat at the aforementioned Hi Pointe, but the toppings were, uh, top notch. Overall, I'd describe the burger as an elevated Dave's Double from Wendy's, which, if you know ball, is the highest compliment you can pay anything, let alone a burger. I'd be curious to know where people are eating, if they don't like Shake Shack, but maybe I don't want to know? It'll be a while until my system is rid of all that ground beef, and longer still until I've recovered financially.

Certainly, I'd rather not go to a Chipotle, where you risk gastrointestinal distress in exchange for less food than they used to give you, for even more money; or Taco Bell, which actually costs more than Chipotle now, despite still being Taco Bell. Enter Abelardo's Mexican Fresh, which somehow (ostensibly) combines the quality of a fancy sit-down restaurant with the convenience of a fast-food restaurant. Not only do you not have to go inside to get your food, you couldn't go inside if you wanted to. There's probably an alarm that would trigger if you tried. There's all kinds of signs and stickers on the building's exterior warning of alarm systems and the restaurant's right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, Title IX notwithstanding. There's a little window where you can get out of your car and order, if you just have to. You don't have to worry, if you're wearing pajamas. It's not the kind of neighborhood where you're going to be judged for that sort of thing. The menu is entirely too extensive. But you get the sense that, as is the case with the aforementioned Taco Bell, it's all 1001 different combinations of the same few ingredients. You probably couldn't go wrong with just throwing a dart at the thing and seeing where it lands, unless you're Stevie Wonder, in which case you might put someone's eye out. I wanted to get a combination that had both a taco and a burrito, so I could try both items, but the only one I saw had ground beef in both. So I went with one that came with two carne asada burritos, refried beans and rice. I suppose I could have just ordered à la carte, but I wasn't feeling up to it emotionally. I noticed the bag, when they handed it to me, was surprisingly heavy, like they accidentally gave me someone else's order. I wasn't about to complain. This is a proper Mexican establishment, so there was no risk of there being anything gluten free or otherwise inappropriate for an adult male. But no, this was my order. It's just a lot of food. The two-burrito combination plate seems like it would be two small burritos instead of one large burrito (which seems stupid), but it's really two fairly large burritos. At $15 and some change, it might be the single most expensive thing on the menu, but it's not expensive in an absolute sense, by 2025 standards. This place packs great value. The carne asada wasn't the most high quality beef in the world, and it's a little bit dry, which I attribute both to how thoroughly it's cooked and how it's served. There's nothing in the burrito but meat, a few peppers and maybe a little pico. Presumably, this is a more authentic version of the dish, like a chili with no beans in it. It benefits from the hot sauce they give you with it, which is legitimately hot and redolent of actual peppers. The tortillas were similarly high quality and, if taste is any indication, not good for you. The refried beans were lacking in salt compared to the kind that come in a can, which are amongst my favorite things in the world, but that's probably more a testament to the utter savagery in which I was raised than anything else. Sitting in the drive thru, I was reminded of the Oreo cookie shakes I would get from the Jack in the Box that used to be here. If they could somehow put that on the menu, this would be the GOAT restaurant. As it is, it's not half bad.
