We love MOD! But not after today, absolute rude customer service because I asked for a balsamic drizzle finish on my pizza after it was cooked. The manager on duty on 8/24 @ 8:30pm was aggressive and rude. She yelled at me and said no that's not protocol and refused. She said I should of got it when they asked me for my finishes, but no one asked me that today. Also, she yelled at the poor employee on shift for giving someone a ranch and she told him to go guard the register when no one was checking out. Only because she would like to be rude. Do have to say I'd say it's more of a 3.5 from me. I'm not gonna lie...I'm very conflicted with this review. Most of the time we've ordered from MOD, the pizza in itself has always been a 4 star experience and sometimes even 5 but the last experience really left a sour taste in my mouth. (Always ordered online and curbside picked up) First off, when I got there, I tried calling for their curbside pickup and I understand that sometimes they get busy which is why I don't mind if they don't pick up at first or put me on hold...although calling them 12x without anyone picking up is a little ridiculous. When I walked in, I went the online order pickup desk and waited as two associates just hung out and talked with one another. Then one acknowledged me and just asked if I was there for DoorDash and when I said no, he walked away to the back (before I could say I was just trying to grab my order). I had to ask another person for help who just rolled his eyes and pointed to a table. (Honestly, didn't notice it, sorry. ) And when I got home, noticed my pizza missing a couple of things and only half topped with onions. Usually, I don't really mind when things happen. First of all, I highly recommend trying the red sauce mixed with the pesto, the best sauce option they offer by far! Don't forget the no name cake (or 5) it's like a ding dong but even better, I saved that for dessert at home and my husband was crushed we had to share one. Their service is outstanding, very friendly and helpful staff. MOD Pizza is my favorite personal pizza-making place. I'm so glad that they opened a location in Reno. Before we could get MOD Pizza in Reno, my husband and I would make sure to stop in the Rocklin, CA location on our way home from visiting his parents. Blind Onion is still my favorite place to order a traditional whole pizza, but for a lunch-time serving of pizza, MOD Pizza is my favorite. My husband and I just learned recently that MOD Pizza offers a "mega-dough" option, which is just slightly larger than the regular MOD size but is made of thicker dough. We both prefer thicker crusts, so this option is the best, and we both are always able to only eat half of our respective pizzas, which means delicious leftovers. The pizzas come out fast (approximately 5-10 minutes after ordering), and the prices are very reasonable. Before tip, two mega pizzas that we couldn't finish all at one cost us $22. We love being able to choose exactly what goes on our pizzas, and the restaurant is such a nice environment in which to sit. There are booths, tables, high-top tables, and a row of seats along the window. We always just order water, but they also offer a good range of alcoholic beverages, sodas, teas, and juices. The young people who work the assembly line at this location are uniformly cheerful and friendly. MOD Pizza is delicious. I am a fan for sure. This is my go to place for pizza. We ordered a maddy, mad dog and cheesy garlic bread. Man that was a good combo haha. Usually we would have left overs when we order out at any pizza joint but this time we had no left overs. I was happy and sad at the same time. I was happy because I was fat and happy haha. Sad because we had no left overs haha. So we can just grab more pizza next time. This was out first time going to MOD Pizza and man was it a good call. The staff was friendly and accommodating. An instant favorite! My wife and I have heard a lot about MOD Pizza, especially from my parents who have been to the Vallejo, CA location quit a bit. So we looked and discovered they have one right here in Reno so we decided to stop in for lunch today. To be honest, we were a bit skeptical. However, those doubts quickly dissipated the second we walked in the door. Immediately, we were greeted by not one, not two, but THREE employees at pretty much the same time. One of them then asked if it's our first visit to which we replied, "yes". She then welcomed us and gave us a quick run down of how it all works and showed us the FRESH toppings they offer. The sweetest part is, unlike some of Pizza restaurants, you pay a flat price for the pizza and get your choice of unlimited toppings! My wife got the gluten friendly crust with fresh garlic, spinach, and some other toppings. Me? I got my usual. Good ole' pepperoni (but give me credit, I did ask for some Oregano. Lol). After ordering, I noticed that I have something on the menu named after me (pictured below). The "Kevin". How cool is that? Ok, so it's not actually named after me but it's cool to pretend. On top of the above listed, we also ordered an order of the Cheesy Garlic Bread, a side salad, and two small drinks. You can choose from soda (but why would you?), regular lemonade, or their house made Blackberry Lemonade. Do yourself a favor and get the Blackberry Lemonade. Seriously, seriously good. Their tag line is, "super fast", and boy, do they live up to it. No sooner than we sat down and started to enjoy the decor was my name called signaling that our food was ready. As you can see from my photos below, not only did the food look amazing, it tasted amazing as well. Everything about this experience was top notch. The service was flawlessly phenomenal, the decor/vibe was casual and cool (a throwback to their Seattle beginnings), and the food was damn good. We went from skeptics to mega fans after just ONE visit. That isn't an easy thing for a restaurant to do. Will we be back? Not even a question. My daughter and I stopped by here for a quick lunch over the weekend. We are fans of build-your-own pizza places and, after reading reviews, were happy to finally come by here. First off, the staff were very friendly and patient! They were also kind and helpful with each other. I told my daughter that this would be a great place for a student to work! Second, we were happy to see that for one price ($8.47), we can have as many of the approximately 30 toppings as we wish! I started with a pesto base and loaded up with lots of yummy veggies! They also offer "finish it" sauces, so I finished mine with a "sri-rancha sauce." Our favorite build-your-own pizza place in Los Angeles is more expensive but I do prefer their pizza's better crust and more unusual toppings. For an filling, custom 11" pie, can't go wrong on the pricing at just under $13. I ordered the Caspian to be delivered and it was amazing! I ordered it with a gluten free crust, and honestly I couldn't tell the difference. It tasted just like it was a normal pizza crust. What I loved most about the crust was that it was both crispy and chewy at the same time. The only thing I would change is the BBQ sauce was a little overwhelming, it was a little too saucy for my liking, but that may just be a personal preference. And it came out super fast, and the dude at the register was SUPER nice and cheerful. MOD pizza is definitely a cool concept where you can build your own pizzas and salads. This location has adequate parking and seating once inside. What I enjoy about MOD is I feel that it's a good value because for one price you can have unlimited toppings which just makes such a difference in your pizza experience. It's apparent that MOD gives back to the community as the walls are covered in photos from local events as well as high school emblems. The walls are covered in individuals' MOD stickers which is very cool! I was a huge fan of my pizza: basic red sauce, mozzarella, minced garlic, pepperoni, roasted red peppers, chopped green peppers, mushrooms, black olives, tomatoes, and roasted garlic (I love garlic okay?!). My only complaint and the reason for the four stars is the cross contamination of their toppings. In my opinion this place is not good for people with allergies or dietary restrictions because they use their hands with the same gloves to pick up every topping. I also like that they provide ranch dressing for free when many places up charge you for it. I'm not giving up on them. The crust comes out so perfectly crisp on the edges and tender under the toppings. The cauliflower crust is very, very good as well. I was surprised how well it held up to what all I put on it! The selection of sauces, cheeses, toppings and drizzles really makes for an adventure. The people making your pizza are always happy to make suggestions and offer their experience with ingredient combos if you want some input. We love the red sauce & pesto together; the pink sauce (red sauce and white sauce) is my daughter's favorite. Next visit one of us will try the white sauce with BBQ. The fog balsamic drizzle is my favorite. That's one thing all my pizzas will always have 100% of the time. Let's not forget their drinks!! The staff helping us were incredibly kind and helpful as they showed us novices the ropes. When I would ask, "what else do you think this pizza needs?" Always thought the idea of built your own pizza was so cool and after finally getting one in Reno and trying it, absolutely a 5/5 yelp worthy restaurant ! First , the customer service was great. You get greeted at the door, employees help and guide you especially if its your first time, after receiving the food there is employees checking on how everything is, and lastly upon leaving , they all say goodbye. Second, the choices! You can choose from what size pie you want or if you want a salad OR a PIZZA SALAD... Size range from 7 inches to i believe 14 inches and for the recommended 11 inch it's only $8 which is not that bad for building your own. Much to select between regular pepperoni to canadian bacon , different veggies, toppings, cheeses, you can even add sauces to try how it would taste. Lastly, how fast the pizza came out! Most pizza parlors would most likely take about 15 to 20 minutes after ordering but after getting drinks and sitting down our pizza came in almost 10 minutes after ordering. I can't believe that I haven't written a review for MOD, yet! In my opinion (as well as my son's), MOD is the best restaurant of its type (the super quick personal pizza type) in the whole area! We have been to several, but none are anywhere near the quality here. Their gluten free pizza is definitely the best of any of this type that even has gluten free available. It looks a bit weird when they are putting the toppings on, since it is pre-baked and it doesn't apparently want to be flat when baked without the toppings or something. Then, when it is finished baking with the toppings on it, it looks a bit blackened on the edges. This bothered me the first time (especially after seeing the wobbly-looking crust they put my toppings on...lol). I REALLY do not like anything "blackened" whether by accident or on purpose. The truth is that it has never tasted burned at all and I am really sensitive to this. I love to create my own combination of an extreme veggie lovers. I prefer the roasted broccoli as a topping towards the end of the line, but that roasted veggie changes with the seasons. They're all good. I just REALLY miss the roasted broccoli! Just remember that if you want to add spinach, you need to say that before you get your cheese. They don't always ask ahead of time, but it's important for the toppings to work correctly. My son loves to make his own version of a meat lovers pizza and adds feta cheese. He sometimes adds a veggie or two as well. We have been several times with different friends, because when we want to meet up with our teen boys, this is one of the main suggestions from me. ;) One of my friends really loves one of their suggested pizzas. She usually gets the one with artichoke hearts, bacon, feta (I think), and a couple of other toppings. It looks really tasty. They have some amazing choices of beverages. I don't even know, however, what all they have, because I am totally HOOKED on their Marion Blackberry Lemonade! Oh. My. Goodness!!! My tip: sit inside, so you are close enough to get convenient refills. ;) I love their location, too. Although it is nowhere near where I live, it IS at a main intersection that I almost always go through when in that area of town. It's relatively close to an exit off of 395 as well. It's a convenient halfway point for several of our close friends and us, also. Many live in Dayton, Carson City, and Washoe Valley. I think this was one of the friendliest restaurants I've been to in a long time. We were immediately greeted when we walked in the door. They explained the menu and we were off. You pick your base 8inch, 11inch, Gluten free, etc. then all toppings are included. There are a ton of options. I went for GF, red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni and sausage with extra red onions. BRING BACK THE WHOLE GARLIC. That's all I got. I really enjoy Mod pizza due to the ability to add extra toppings at no cost. But my favorite topping was definitely the whole baked or grilled garlic! That's my only complaint. read more

I had to try this place after reading several reviews of other Yelpers. Glad I did. I ordered a salad and kind of like a well know sub sandwich establishment; first you pick your lettuce base, then meats, followed by toppings, cheese, and salad dressing. Next they toss it all for you with tongs so that from the first bite to the last all of the flavors you picked are distributed throughout. It was a fresh and amazing salad. My friend had a pizza and liked it so much she took one to go. It also looked amazing. The staff is super helpful and leads you through what your choices are by doing some Vanna White type prompting. Well this was my first visit to MOD, I will say it was a pretty easy procedure for me as I've been to other build your own pizza joints! I was approached immediately by a pizza gal who was there to help. The gal making the pizza (bad me I didn't get her name) started me off with sauces and of course let her know I love garlic....she started with marinara sauce I had to ask for more and honestly, I'm paying for this pizza so fill her up! I had to keep asking can you add a little more? I had marinara, minced garlic, spinach, mozzarella (was a little disappointed they didn't have fresh as the others do) Parmesan, Feta, and of course my favorite Gorgonzola. Meats were a few pepperoni extra meatball ( they use ground beef) and mild Italian Sausage. I decided I needed fresh mushrooms and artichoke hearts, olives and of course S&P, oregano and I was happy! I will go back but I kinda felt a little attitude from the pizza maker and that's why the 3 stars... I ask for more on almost everything but I certainly am not paying for tablespoons of all those ingredients!
