I had to try this place after reading several reviews of other Yelpers. Glad I did. I ordered a salad and kind of like a well know sub sandwich establishment; first you pick your lettuce base, then meats, followed by toppings, cheese, and salad dressing. Next they toss it all for you with tongs so that from the first bite to the last all of the flavors you picked are distributed throughout. It was a fresh and amazing salad. My friend had a pizza and liked it so much she took one to go. It also looked amazing. The staff is super helpful and leads you through what your choices are by doing some Vanna White type prompting. Well this was my first visit to MOD, I will say it was a pretty easy procedure for me as I've been to other build your own pizza joints! I was approached immediately by a pizza gal who was there to help. The gal making the pizza (bad me I didn't get her name) started me off with sauces and of course let her know I love garlic....she started with marinara sauce I had to ask for more and honestly, I'm paying for this pizza so fill her up! I had to keep asking can you add a little more? I had marinara, minced garlic, spinach, mozzarella (was a little disappointed they didn't have fresh as the others do) Parmesan, Feta, and of course my favorite Gorgonzola. Meats were a few pepperoni extra meatball ( they use ground beef) and mild Italian Sausage. I decided I needed fresh mushrooms and artichoke hearts, olives and of course S&P, oregano and I was happy! I will go back but I kinda felt a little attitude from the pizza maker and that's why the 3 stars... I ask for more on almost everything but I certainly am not paying for tablespoons of all those ingredients! I thought the prices were right on par for how big they were. The three of us in our group ordered our own pizzas, drinks, and an order of their garlic twists and it came out to $32.00. This was my first time at this specific location, and the pizza was delicious. The service was great, as we chose to select our own toppings. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and the turn around time for the pizza was probably like 6 minutes. I would definitely come back, as the pizza was super good. My only critique is that despite the staff wearing gloves they don't use tongs/scoops for the pizza toppings. They grab one topping and then grab the next, and this wasn't concerning for me but would be a problem for someone with food allergies. If someone came in with food allergies I don't believe they could accommodate them due to the cross contamination between toppings. This would be easily solved if all the toppings had some sort of tong or scoop so that cross contamination wouldn't be occuring. read more

Living in Midtown, I'm always delighted when I find trendy, hipster, creative restaurants that I am accustomed to in Midtown, but without the 'you must walk 3 blocks from the nearest available parking' Midtown situation. Being able to park and walk 100 feet is swweeeeeetttt! This place décor is trendy-hipster. Walls are decorated simplify photos and signs. The have wood topped tables and several long high-top table with community seating areas. The place is on average clean. The staff has always been super nice and friendly. This is an assembly line artisan pizza place. While they do have some pizzas that you can order, the real appeal that Mod you can pick whatever you want to go onto your pizza. You want garlic with pesto, you can pick it! You want bell peppers and tomatoes and feta, you can pick it! The combo possibilities are endless! I typically get 'The Mod' dough size which is enough for 2 meals for me. I have tried most of their veggies and sauces one time or another - their veggies are fresh, and the selection is numerous (the vegetarian in me is super stocked about this place). They also have dairy free cheese, I have tried it and it is good (but I'm certain you have to be use to that type of cheese) - sooooo 100% vegan friendly! The pizza crust is a very thin crust, which I love. After you pick your pizza toppings they cook your pizza (very fast) and when you go to pick it up at the counter you can select a drizzle of your choosing e.g ranch or hot buffalo sauce. They will put it on the side if you are a dipper. Lastly, if you don't finish your pizza (me every time) they have small pizza boxes located in several areas, so you can box it to go. They have some long high top tables which was being as community seating. We shared the table with another couple. Food Drink - Great selection of beer, both bottle and draft. I had FiftyFifty from Truckee's Rockslide IPA. My beer was fill so high I had to drink so before heading to the table. Dinner - 11 inch or 6 inch pizza, well no surprise I went with the 11". 10" to 11" is perfect for one person. Oh you have a meat pizza on the menu board, yes please. I had the Mad Dog. A three meat pizza, starting with my favorite topping of pepperoni followed by a mild sausage and ground beef. Pizza could have had more pepperoni on it. Service - Speed this what the place is about. We had a little wait before we were able to order. Of course the standard questions are asked while the pizza goes down the line. After walking the line you end up at a small open fridge which has beer, wine, and other drinks. Then the register to pay for your meal. Sit and wait for your name to be called. There was no one in front of us but they made waited without even acknowledging us, then after we ordered; I thanked them but no respond from the employee, she just walked away. As it was with our last visit, the staff was very friendly and eager to help us make our perfect pizza. After the terrific customer service that I received from Andre' R and Hannah S, I wanted so much to enjoy the food. However, it just wasn't meant to be. The sauce and toppings are fine, but I feel that the crust just isn't what we enjoy (flavor and texture (too crispy and dry)). I love MOD Pizza! With pizza being one of my favorite foods, I've definitely eaten pizza all over and MOD is the perfect place for groups and families in which everyone likes something different. My partner and I have really different tastes for pizza toppings with tiny stomachs (vsg-patients) and we are able to completely customize mini pies to be exactly how we like them. Tips: if you like a little spice, add some Mama's little sweet peppers and take your pizza to the the next level! Don't skip on sauce either- I get red sauce and cheese under my toppings and more cheese and pesto on top. So tasty . The Sri-rancha is a must as well. The atmosphere is modern and fun. Customizable, personal pizzas have finally made it to Reno! And this place does it better than most! From the quality ingredients, the friendly staff, and the quick, easy service, Mod truly deserves these five stars. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by basically every employee. As you get to the front of the line, they ask you if you've been there before. If it's your first time, they run you down with how to order. Essentially, you pick a size and you pick the sauces/toppings. You can get one of their preset, signature pizzas, but making your own seems more fun! You can get unlimited toppings if you'd like, but to be honest, less is more at a place like this. Toppings include all of the regular items you see at a pizza place, but they do have plenty of other cheeses, dressings, veggies, and meats. The quality of these ingredients are also top notch. The basil if fresh, the roasted ingredients add a smokey-ness to your pie, and they even have anchovies here! The pizza also comes out in no time. In less than 10 minutes, you are already scarfing down your first slice. But don't forget about the finishes! The finishes are what separates this place from others. The sri-rancha (sriracha and ranch) is both creamy and slightly spicy, the hot honey packs a sweet and hot punch, and the pesto drizzle just adds another depth of flavor you didn't think you would need, but ultimately enjoy. I am in love w/ MOD pizza. The ambiance is always friendly and the customer service is always on point. Hannah and Jackie always make an impression on me by going above and beyond. Wasn't really in the mood to drive across town for pizza, but this new place has so many interesting reviews on Yelp! my son and I made the effort to check it out for dinner on a Thursday evening just before 5 pm. One thing I really appreciate is the location has easy access and lots of parking. The first thing you notice is the impressively friendly greeting and service. You know the staff are well trained and managed. They try hard to be friendly, but the first visit is a little confusing and while I appreciated the enthusiasm I needed more explanation of the process of ordering a custom pizza. There were LOTS of options that allowed me to put a unique twist on my standard favorite sausage and pepperoni. Mama's Lil Peppers were a delicious addition - truly sweet and spicy. The finished product really was pretty fast and very good. You can get a personal pizza and drink for around $11. My son and were pleased; thought it was great pizza and way above average service at a reasonable price. That said, it's not the best pizza in Reno, and I really can't justify driving across town for it when highly reliable Pizza Plus is in my neck of the woods. The pizza comes out perfect with a variety of toppings not overwhelming the crust but just perfect to have something in every bite. She did not put all the ingredients down the way it was supposed to be. Lacking ingredients and cheese. MOD Pizza is one THE BEST things to happen to Reno! I had my first taste summer 2016, when I visited family in MOD's home state of Washington. I wished and wished MOD would come to Reno since that first bite! I was excited I could experience MOD a little closer to home when I found them in Rocklin on my way to the Bay area. And still, I wished for a location in Reno. You can imagine my happy dance when I saw a flyer at the Rocklin location, stating future locations that included Reno in 2017!! Whoop whoop! The moment I open the door, I am greeted with a hearty and energetic welcome! All smiles, and it seems everyone is happy to be there serving up their customers. I cannot tell you how many pizzerias I've visited, only to be encountered by employees who could care less save for the paycheck they may be collecting. This MOD crew knows how to make your day! I like vegetables on my pizza, but not the usual mushrooms, olives, and onions. No, I prefer green peppers, kale, and spinach instead. I don't have to pick anything off anymore, I get to add just what I like! And all the toppings I desire for just one price ($8.47)! It's such great bang for your buck! And when I'm not in a pizza mood, I can create a delicious salad with all of their fresh offerings. I can have a different experience each time I patron this venue and the employees make it fun! I liked this place already when I walked in. The vibe is alive here. Everyone is so friendly and inviting. They have so many topping options. I modified a pizza they already had. I like spicy sausage, basil, tomatoes, white sauce, mushrooms, & asiago. I should have added ricotta too! Oh and I can never turn down pesto. You walk along the assembly line towards the register as you add items to your pizza. I've been to one of these pizza concept places before but the pizza here is better. My mom asked for extra spinach and the girl made it seem like it was a hassle for her to do that. The same employee later handed me my pizza when it was done in a nice tone. There's several build your own pizza spots in Reno and the ONLY one I've ever come back to is Mod. I've been going since I moved here in 2018 for college and quite literally have yet to have a bad experience there. Consistency is something I always look for in my favorite places to eat, and Mod has never fallen short. I've always gotten the same kind of pizza, improving it over the years and it's always been cooked to perfection! Compared to other spots, their ingredients are much higher quality and way fresher. The dough is freshly made and if they don't take the sauce and toppings edge to edge (which I ask for) it actually puffs up nicely. This is thanks to the pizza being made in a fire brick oven rather than an electric pizza oven. The service is always on point when I come and I never feel rushed or stressed about making my pizza on the spot. It's never too busy and I find myself the first in line most times because they're just that efficient. The place is always clean and feels lively like a pizza spot should! They offer fountain drinks, their own teas as well as wine and beers. Not to mention it's insanely affordable for the amount of food you can get. And DON'T forget to grab a No Name Cake for dessert! UPDATE: I did curbside pick up during COVID-19 and it went great! Ordered online and as we parked, this nice worker came right out with it. Grabbed it and go. They were awesome, quick and so polite. MOD has to be one of my favorite pizza places in Reno mainly because I can create my own personal size with anything on it. My most recent pizza was the calexico and it was amazing! The mix of the Gorgonzola with the buffalo sauce and chicken was wonderful. I also got balsamic drizzle on top to try something new and now I won't eat it that pizza with out it! Our first experience with MOD Pizza was in Northern California and we really enjoyed it. After a day of going to the mall we decided to stop in and grab a couple. I really like the idea of one price pizzas that you get to customize yourself. As Always the staff is super friendly and happy to help. My daughter ordered a make your own and got Marinara, Mozzarella, Olives, Red Peppers, Salami, Mushrooms, Spinach, and Roasted Cauliflower. My wife ordered a White Sauce, Mozzarella, Chicken, Pineapple, Green Pepper, Onion and Ricotta Pizza. For me I went with White Sauce, Anchovies, Sausage, Mushrooms, Spinach, Roasted Red Peppers, Roasted Garlic and Ricotta. All to go. I really love there selection of Lemonades and Iced Teas. Today they had Blackberry Lemonade and Caramelized Pear Iced Tea. So for 3 pizzas and 3 drinks it came out to $35 which is not bad at all. Now if you are wondering why I gave them only 2 stars it's unfortunately because when we got home and ate, my wife immediately went into anaphylactic shock. She is extremely allergic to Blue Cheeses. As in tongue swells and throat closes allergic. It was scary because I stopped eating anything with blue cheese years ago to never have this issue. While I was thinking about it I remembered that the Blue Cheese was stored right next to the Ricotta which might not seem bad unless you are one of the millions of people who have an allergy to it and you don't change your gloves enough. So what was supposed to be a pleasant evening turned into a mad rush to make sure my wife was ok. Thankfully she only ate a tiny piece of her pizza so we didn't have to rush her to the emergency room but it was very scary for my daughter. Now I'm not telling anyone to not go to MOD Pizza. For the price point they make a great little pizza and if my wife didn't suffer any symptoms then we would still be customers but If you have any allergy's be a little extra vigilant when they are making your pizza. Normally I try to steer clear of reviewing chains, or places I have been to only once, and I usually give myself some time to mull over experiences before writing. But since MOD Pizza opened right near my work literally in the last few days, it seemed a good time to be spontaneous. It's a chain I knew pretty much nothing about, another sign of the increased presence of different companies and brands flooding into the Reno area. Located in the Firecreek Crossing center, their grand opening vibe is very strong, with decorations and balloons, a hearty crowd of customers, and staff stationed to help new customers navigate their menu. You walk up to the counter, and you see that they charge a set price for the size of pizza you order, not the amount of toppings you put on it. You select your sauce, and as many toppings as you want to create your own custom pie. Or, they also have a menu of recopies you can choose from as well. You watch from your side of the glass-enclosed counter as the crew assemble your meal, moving it down the line from sauce, to meat, to veggie stations, finally sliding it into the oven to bake, and serving it up to you with a few finishing garnishes. If this model sounds familiar, it should, as it is the same sort you see at Subway or certain other joints, only now applied here to pizza. It never ceases to amaze me how people can come up with new adaptations of existing methods, and more to the point, how the staff here can utilize it to crank out customized pizzas so fast. Seeing all this, I was a tad nervous that this would be pretty bland and generic, certainly nothing to Yelp about. But after lunch today, I decided that, yeah, it can be good to be wrong. From when I placed my order to when it was dished up, total time elapsed was about ten minutes. This is insanely fast for a fast-food, tailored-pizza, and yet there it was. I had built my 11" pie with tons of cheese, olives, and bacon. Oh, and now would be a good point to reiterate that they do not charge by the amount of toppings. So theoretically you could pay the exact same price for a plain cheese as you do if you were to get literally every topping they had. This would normally send up warning flags for me, but after sitting down and taking a bite, I was pleasantly surprised. The pie was pretty tasty, I have to admit. Granted, I've certainly had better pizzas before, but for fast-food, this is really impressive quality. I would certainly take them over some of the more traditional and well-known pizza chains. The crust is pretty thin, though, but not overly crisp. The dough is kept that way, I guess, which helps them in making sure their cook times are way down and they can get a good turnover rate with orders. In addition to their pizzas, they have plenty of bottled and fountain drinks, a few dessert items, and setups in place for beer taps. (which they promise are coming soon) Good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, ample parking, and amazingly friendly and energetic staff are also some good plusses. And getting back to the price, my 11" pizza was only about $9. Pretty good value, pretty good quality. So definitely a sold four stars. MOD - Made On Demand. Cool concept and name. The company was founded in Seattle by a couple that has great vision for business growth. This couple owned Seattle's Best Coffee and sold out to Starbucks. Thinking they were going to relax and travel after the sale, they both wanted to start a new company with a very different concept. Boom, MOD Pizza was born and now is in several different countries and across the states. So we were lucky enough to land one here In Reno. The restaurant is very spacious, with both booth and table seating. When you walk in you see a menu with suggested pizzas, or you can make your own. They have three sizes, mini, MOD, and mega. I chose, pepperoni,mushroom and sausage. The pizza was delicious. Thin crust, a Little char on the bottom. Definitely will be coming back. read more

Don't you ever have that one friend that hates olives but you love them and how they top their pizza with so many cheeses it makes you queasy after you eat it? At MOD you get to build your own personalized pizza however you want with unlimited toppings so uhh yes please!! I was beyond excited when I heard MOD pizza was coming to Reno. I had this when I was in Seattle one summer and loved it! The staffs here are super friendly and lively. This is such a fun spot for pizza and hangout. read more

MOD pizza, you're okay. I am so glad I did my own research on your corporate site before coming in today or I would have been extremely disappointed. The guy that helped my husband and I today was very friendly, however he was completely misinformed when it came down to what was vegan and what was not. He even told us the pesto was vegan because it was not made with pine nuts, and when we asked if it had cheese he said "yes, a little but not enough to upset your stomach or anything." Ugh. I understand not everyone knows what a vegan is, or what products are vegan friendly (which is why I do my own research), but it would be helpful if companies that boast "vegan options" actually knew which items were truly vegan and which were not. Just an FYI, the pesto is not vegan. According to the website the vegan sauces offered at this location are the marinara, the garlic rub, and the BBQ sauce, they are all dairy free. We ordered two of their regular mod pizzas, both with garlic rub, and dairy free cheese. We also had a variety of toppings, mushrooms, onions, spinach, artichoke hearts, Brussels sprouts, roasted red peppers, and broccoli. The pizza came out of the oven fast, and we ordered a side of olive oil and balsamic dressing for dipping. My pizza was cut into four slices, two giant slices and two small slices. Overall the crust was crispy, the veggies were okay, next time we would skip on the Brussels sprouts and the broccoli but it was a nice change to our usual lunch options. Hands down best pizza in Reno!! So tasty and cheesy! Absolutely amazing. Pizza cooked in minutes. Once I tried the pizza here I didn't want to go anywhere else. They definitely need to open up more locations besides just the one. The customer service was great, as well as watching them custom making my pizza in front of me to be ready in 5 minutes. However, all of this is just a bonus after the amazing quality of the pizza. I can't describe it with words, and you must try it to understand! read more

AMAZING PIZZA & AMAZING SERVICE!!! I love MOD it's probably one of my favorite places in Reno. MOD is a wonderful pizza place that lets you create your own pizza with whatever toppings you want for one set price. Let me tell you how delicious they come out! With many options of- meats like: pepperoni, sausage, ham, chicken, Italian sausage, salami cheeses like: mozzarella, feta, Gorgonzola, blue cheese, Asiago, ricotta, and dairy free cheese fresh veggies like: pineapple, peppers, jalapeño, tomatoes, olives, onions, corn, mushrooms, spinach and lots more sauces like: ranch, bbq, pesto, white sauce, garlic rub, red sauce this place lets you be creative with your pizza. It's a thinner crust pizza which I love! Also, everyone that works here is so nice. They have the best customer service better than most expensive restaurants. 10/10 would recommend:) read more

I had a pizza with Basil, Garlic, Ricotta, Roma Tomatoes, and Mozzarella. It was decent enough.

A friend knew we were heading to Reno for a meeting and told us we should try this place. We had to go to the Hallmark store next door first and by the time we were done, MOD Pizza had a huge line so we decided to waiting until after the meeting. We were greeted with friendly employees. We had our own pizza made. Wood burning stove is how it was served. It was amazing. Pizza was ready in 10-15 minutes. The place was clean including the restroom. When we left, we were once again given a thanks for coming in and come again by a couple of employees. read more
