Since it was 1.69 chicken taco Wednesday I decided to pop thru the drive up and grab a few tacos for lunch. I was super super disappointed today. There was hardly any meat hardly any lettuce and yes, there was cheese on top. I actually had to open them up to see if there was any lettuce. In the past, they have been worth it at this location, but I was highly disappointed today. They're probably was a half inch to 3/4 of an inch on the ends of the tacos that had nothing in them. You know what you are getting when you come here. You aren't here for quality ingredients, you are here for Americanized Mexican food. I ordered a breakfast burrito with no potatoes. I got a burrito that was half filled (they did not increase the egg quantity for the reduction of potatoes). The burrito was meh. For $10+ they could at least put some pico on there. It's been a year since my last visit to Roberto's and since I was in the neighborhood; I figured I'd swing by to pick up dinner. As usual, I pulled up to the drive-thru and ordered my usual: an Adobada burrito plus a medium drink. The total came to about $13, the lady at the drive-up window was efficient and professional, I received my order in no time at all. Visiting from out of town. Flew in late night and my husband found this place near our hotel still open and drive thru. He said $1.50 chicken tacos on Wednesday. I didn't know what to expect, so I got carne asada fries. He got chicken tacos and I was able to try it. Stuffed hard shell tacos, I was actually impressed with the serving size given the price. I always love to come here to get the beef tacos as they are like a 9/10. But the service is absolutely terrible. I always get a little bit of attitude in the drive through. Ate in the dining room after 7 P.M. at night. Food was fine but in the middle of dinner an employee began to mop the entire dining room, including the floor beneath our feet and table. The strong smelling solution was intolerable while trying to eat, not to mention it is unsafe to walk on a completely wet floor. I tried to explain that it was difficult to ingest the smells and it was bothersome to my eyes but the girl at the counter just said sorry you need to complain to management in the morning. Even though the dining room is open 24 hours a day, they are mopping the ENTIRE restaurant while people are trying to eat. I suggested at least closing and mopping half at a time and was told that is not what the manager wants. I guess if you take your food to go, this won't be an issue. I got a taco and cheese enchilada. The enchilada was cold and the cheese was NOT melted. SERIOUSLY I think they opened the bag of cheese put some in a tortilla Rolled it up and called it an enchilada. I asked them to warm it up and melt the cheese. When I got it back it was swimming in enchilada sauce. Not a normal ammount but seriously it covered the entire enchilada, and up to rim of the plate. I told them it was to much. So they covered it in lettuce and gave it back. It was gross to look at and worse to eat. GROSSSSS. And I have never had white refried beans. To begin the customer service was horrible when i was ordering at the speaker the girl seems as if she was in a rush and rushed my order not only did she get my order wrong but the attitude they had at the window was unacceptable. The food tasted old as if it had been sitting there for a while. The girl who took my order was absolutely rude and took my order with tons of attitude, her attitude was not appreciated at all! Don't eat here. Trust me. Absolutely disgusting restaurant. This was my first experience at this particular Robertos (been to other locations) and my last experience ever with Robertos. First, the dining room looked like it hadn't been cleaned anytime in the past...oh, several weeks? Floor was a mess. All the tables had greasy prints. Was willing to let it slide thinking maybe they were short staffed and I was ordering carry-out anyhow. But you know the saying...if these are the parts the customer sees, what do the areas look like that we don't see? Really wish I had followed that instinct, because... Received my food and didn't discover this until I got home, but my side of sour cream was curdled, congealed, and had a huge lump in it. How did I discover? Yup...after I tasted it. Managed to not vomit somehow, but I did dry heave for a couple moments. Then I examined the food. Ice cold. Took a small taste of the red sauce and it tasted more like grease than sauce. Food went straight in the garbage. Wasn't taking any more chances on eating it, and I suggest you don't either. It wasn't worth my time to drive all the way back. Roberto Taco Shop has really good tacos with lots of meat... Their rolled tacos with guacamole are really good. HOWEVER, I decided to try something different this time. I tried the taco salad special. It was edible, but it wasn't the kind of taco salad I would order again. The salad looked good from the top,but as I started eating it, there were all these peppers and onions...lots of them and the bottom of my taco salad shell bowl was all soggy and not enough chicken either and there was water in the box. It was all mush! Not delicious! And whoever was handling the food, it also tasted like soap or some kind of sanitizer. It just was not what I expected in a taco salad. The workers were nice, there wasn't anyone sitting in the restaurant. This is a 24-hour place if you want late night food. 8pm wasn't busy on a Tuesday evening... They don't have a taco Tuesday special. They have a Wednesday chicken taco special. I tried the enchiladas one time before this review, and it was laced with a lot of peppers and onions and lacking meat also. I like a crunchy taco shell bowl and plenty of meat.
