I arrived and I had to wait 10 minutes before they even acknowledged me because the workers were talking and laughing in the back. This pizza restaurant is my new favorite! Its beyond the basic pizza! The location is perfect, its large and spacious. Tons of seating inside as well as outside. The menus are large and easy to read. They also have to go menus you can take with you! When we visited it was just before 4pm and it wasn't to busy but when we were leaving it was very busy! The staff is welcoming and friendly! They asked If we had ever been there well no but they were so willing to help! Let us know how it worked with the sizes of pizzas and salad bowls! There is a large variety of toppings to choose from, everything was fresh and containers were full to the tops. Tons of salad, cheese, meats, and other toppings to choose from. This is the best option for pizza on this side of town. Quick, delicious and not too expensive for a custom pizza. You can create a custom pizza depending on your mood with a great variety of fresh toppings. They have a nice variety of beverages that all go great with pizza. The service here is out of this world! We were sitting outside and they brought the pizza to us, were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant and were treated like our money mattered. I visited another location in San Antonio and you would have thought they were not the same franchise because it was night and day. I've liked MOD pizza ever since I first tried it a few years back in San Marcos. Now that there's a location near me, I decided to stop in. The best part of MOD pizza is their assortment of toppings. As you walk up to the counter, you're greeted by a friendly staff and a bunch of toppings that you can layer onto your pizza at no additional charge. Their website says there's over 30 toppings from which to choose. You pay a flat price for the size of crust you order (small, medium, large). That's it. It's fairly simple. With so many options to choose from it can be a little overwhelming but they have stock pizzas to choose from to get you started. I had the Issac which is a seasonal promotion where a portion of your money is donated to a really good cause: suicide prevention. The pizza itself was delicious. Thin, crusty crust. Garlic rub plus an assortment of veggies. What more do you need? It was great. Note: they have vegetarian & vegan options. You can get gluten free crust & non-dairy cheese. With a drink, I think my meal came out to a little over $10. Not bad. Also, they had two beers on tap, a couple in cans, and some other drinks other than soda that you can buy. Seating is plentiful at this location and they have a small outdoor area where you can melt in the summer heat if you'd like (it's covered). Finally, a place in San Antonio to go to when I have a pizza craving but don't really want an entire pizza. The pizza is good but it's not Lombardi's in NYC good if you know what I mean. Place is okay- make sure to go in and don't do delivery. When I go in the pizza is decent at a high price. But with delivery I received the items 30 mins late - it was burnt (hard as a rock) it was cold and the pizza was suppose to be just cheese as I don't do pork and it had pieces of pepperoni on the bottom of crust. The tiny $8 salad had rotten lettuce in it. I've had to cut out a lot of restaurants because their quality is just going down, MOD may have to be another one that gets cut out. read more

You know if this hadn't of happened to me, I'm not sure if I would have believed it. On 5.29.22 my Partner was power washing the house and had a craving for Subway. Since we usually get takeout on the weekends seemed like a good idea. You can read that review if you want since it ties in. Without my asking, they offered to get me something else. I repeatedly told them no, it's okay. Finally agreed to get a Mod salad. In the couple of years or so since I've been eating here, I haven't been disappointed and thought it was a safe choice. How wrong I was. $12.76 for wilted arugula. I tried to take a pic of the wilting but don't think I did a good job and the dressing they provided, I'm not sure if you can see it but there was practically none there. This was a to go order and when there's no traffic, we don't live far from there. So picking it up late wasn't an issue. I'll still eat at Mod because I've had mostly good experiences. I ended up making Wonton soup because I wasn't going to try and order from a 3rd place. I couldn't even give this salad away and it ended up going in the garbage. I'm so happy this place found a home in SA. That being said... I'm a bit of a pizza snob! My husband and I do not eat the same pizza. We always have to compromise to order a large pie due to toppings and always feel cheated. So we find ourselves at these type of restaurants: Pie Five, Urban Bricks, 1000 Degrees, Uncle Maddios. If it is a fast casual pizza place we have been there and MOD IS OUR FAVORITE!!!!!! They have the best selection of sauces, meats and veggies hands down. The taste is supreme to all the others (see what I did there ). The staff is nice and pies are legit. This was our first time visiting a mod pizza location. The facility was clean and looked well organized. We walked up to look at the menu seemed pretty self explanatory. The women at the front asked for our order 2 mod pizzas build your own and two small mixed green salads. Things seemed fine until three employees were standing around and they were pawning our salads off on each other. (As who was going to make them) the employees don't seem to get along. There is no communication between them. And they most defiantly don't feel like they are there to help you. There are no signs identifying the toppings. They offer 4 different cheese options. Mozz, blue and two others. Probably parm and maybe fontina. Who knows. I had told the gentleman making my pizza that it was our first time here and his response was a "huh" not that he didn't here me more of he didn't care and just started at me awaiting my next topping order. All of the green toppings were wilted and old. (Arugula and such, the mushrooms were also not fresh) the sauces were not being refrigerated. There was also multiple employees sitting on there phone behind the prep station. On the pizza, the crust was good as well as the sauce. We came here on Easter evening so props to them for being open. This place is like some of the other pizza places in town where you build your own pizza and walk through the line of what you want on it (like Subway). I've had the BBQ chicken pizza and while I didn't like the BBQ sauce they used (too sweet) I won't hold that against them. If I go back, I'll try something different. Their choice of drinks was great, fresh tea and lemonaid go a long way with me. The place was clean and the staff nice. We also had a mini cake which is similar to a homemade ding-dong (I think, not up on my Hostess deserts like I should be). We were able to sit outside on the patio which was nice and well kept.
