First, the good: 1) It's very cool that there's a pizza place literally *inside* the Bandera HEB! You can put an order in and pay at an automated kiosk, then pick it up when ready. (They text you when it's up.) 2) Cost is reasonable, as of July 2022 it was $12 for a 16" specialty pizza like a Meat Lover's or Supreme. 3) Service was fast and reasonably friendly (I did show up at 11am though, with no one else in line, so YMMV.) The not-as-good? Simply put, the pizza is the definition of 'meh'. Instead of sausage, the Supreme includes hamburger crumbles, which are chewy and bland. The other toppings are also pretty mediocre in quality, and we got an over-abundance of black olives. So the predominant taste is one of salt. The crust isn't foldable like a classic NYC style slice, it's droopy and listless. To my amazement, it reminds me of the pizza served to me in my grade-school cafeteria! The member-berries were nice, but not great pizza. Finally, everything here looked clean enough. But it was a little disconcerting to see a container full of chopped red onion sitting on the floor near the trash can. If it's trash, put it in the bin! To sum up, there's truth in the old business saying. "Good, Fast, and Cheap. You only get to pick TWO." This place scores a 2 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. We didn't realize there was a pizza place inside the Bandera HEB and decided to check it out and I'm so glad we did. First off, the price for their pizzas is a STEAL, especially compared to Pizza Hut or dominos. We thoroughly enjoyed our pizza. The crust was chewy, thin on the bottom. Their sauce was full of flavor. Basil tasted fresh as well as the mozzarella. The two people working behind the counter were very nice and we only waited 5 mins for the pizza. I guess if I had anything to complain about, it would be that I wish it had a little more basil, but I'm pretty sure all I'd have to do is ask for that. 10/10 recommend. Pizzas are made so fast that the quality is poor. Veggies were still cold, pizza was undercooked. It used to be tolerable back when they would give you 2 free cups of beer. OR maybe that's why, hoping you wouldn't notice. I wish this HEB would close the pizza and open up a barbecue instead. Don't bother when there are so many other options nearby. read more

Welp! First time trying their pizza. Ordered at the kiosk, then I asked the pizza guy how long it would take. He was rude and said he had other pizzas ahead of me and it would take a while. Sheesh! I just wanted an idea of how long I had to wander around the store. Pepperoni pizza was good; Ham pizza was awful; Supreme pizza was laughable -- it had one pepperoni, zero beef, and a a couple of small pieces of green pepper, onion and black olives. Ridiculous! Very good pizza for a grocery store - original crust is thin without being dry. Sauce is tangy. Toppings are numerous and good quality. Located by the produce department, just go up to butcher block, fill out your desired crust, sauce, cheese and toppings and turn it in at the counter. A few minutes later, fresh out of the oven pizza to eat here or take home. Between 4-7 daily, pizza includes 2 beers for happy hours. Very good deal at $10. read more

Oh man! What a hidden pizza gem in this city! Recently moved to this side of town and noticed that there people were always ordering pizzas here. It always smelled delicious when we walked in and it it always looked delicious. So we decided to finally try it out. OMG. I'm glad we did! The pizza crust is a bit doughy and delicious with a perfect amount of sauce and toppings. The prices are really great as well! Only $10 for a large pizza. And here's another plus, they have a happy hour from 4-7 pm every day. So with your purchase, you get 2 free draft beers or wine to enjoy while you wait for your pizza! What's not to love about that! The service is pretty fast too. The last 4 times that we've been here in the last 3 weeks, we've averaged about 10-12 minutes to get our pizza. And that is during happy hour with a few people ahead of us. If you want to try a pretty good pizza with a good price and free beer (or wine) between 4-7, then this is your place! Place went downhill fast. When it opened, the pizza was amazing. I don't know if they changed their dough process (I heard they're using frozen dough now), but the pizza is really really bad. Soggy and tasteless. They also rolled with the times and introduced kiosk ordering, so you're further removed from talking to anyone at all. When they first opened, you'd talk to someone and order your pie. Then they moved to filling out a slip of paper, which means you still got to hand it to a person. Now it's kiosk and no people. This equates to an impersonal product, and it definitely shows. As they got more "efficient" and putting out the product, the product quality has slipped. Ordered a pizza while shopping for Sunday groceries. We were in luck to have ordered before 7pm. This place has a offer for two free beers from 4-7 if u order a pizza. So my husband got 1 beer while walking around in HEB and the other when we picked up the pizza. Pizza was great!! great taste and plenty of toppings. I highly suggest to give it a try. I mean Can it get any better than drinking while you buy groceries?! They have a happy hour deal 4-7 where you buy a pizza and get 2 free beer or wine. The pizza is pretty good but for those who love deep dish or stuffed crust then you might not like it. It's a thin pizza with lots of delicious flavor. I would compare it to a sams club pizza consistency but with flavor comparable to dominoes. The wait is never too long and like I said you can drink your beer/wine, shop and come back and pick up your pizza. The only reason I gave 4 star was because I wish they had more beer and wine selection but they're definitely a place worth trying. read more

Great pizza! Albeit, not the best pizza I've ever had, but it is by far, NOT the worst one. This is good pizza. So, H-E-B started opening here in SA this new place, (not sure if it's in other H-E-B stores around the state, or nation), but I've seen when I pass by it a few times, and decided to try it with my son. Any 16" pizza, whether you want pepperoni, or supreme, or meats, is $10! You can't beat that price, (I mean, you can, but you're substituting quality for price at most other places that are cheaper). Crust is like halfway between a thin crust and a hand tossed pizza. Not too thin, not too thick. We tried the meats, it was very delicious. Took around 8 mins to get out pizza, not bad at all. Of course, this being in the H-E-B deli, typical fountain drink machine by coke is provided. But, they also offer beer, and even have a happy hour where you can get a great price on pizza and beer. It's just a great concept, that, in my humble opinion, was executed superbly. Kudos to H-E-B for this innovative idea. They took a normal thing like pizza, and made a great recipe, with a great price point. I will definitely be trying the other flavors here soon. Try it if you haven't yet. Delicious, convenient and inexpensive!! I ordered the 16 inch pepperoni pizza on my way in to pick up a few items, added a Caesar Salad Kit to my grocery list and picked up the pizza on the way out. I truly wasn't sure what to expect, but I loved it! Thin crust, light sauce, the perfect amount of toasted edges on the pepperoni. My kids gave it two thumbs up!...and honestly, I can't wait for the next pizza night! read more

Cheap on the toppings and taste is ok. Greasy, so me thinks it's cheap cheese they use. Love the convenience, but for HEB, I think they could afford to pile on the toppings. No sauce on one of my pizzas either. The service is friendly as always though. read more
