This MOD was only ok. The staff did greet me when i first walked up and looked from across the bars outside but then when i walked in and up to the counter they didnt say anything until they were done with whatever task they were doing before greeting me. (kinda off putting) the girl who made the pizza again seemed rather annoyed when I asked for extra ham in the pizza and some pepperoni. she proceeded to ripe up 2 pieces and stack them on other pieces of meat and then when i said i needed Daiya cheese seemed annoyed that she had to take off her gloves for new one. (thanks for not making me sick at least) a different girl look the pizza out of the oven and although she did use a different pizza cutter i could help but wonder about vegans that might have an issue with a dairy free cutter touching meat.(generally not super excited) all in all it was ok. id probably hit them up again but i dont think that i will seek them out again if in the area. read more

I've been going to the MOD pizza in downtown Bellevue for a while now and i really love it. Since my wife and I just moved back to Seattle, we decided to get pizzas here on Sunday night with some friends. Although the concept is similar and the staff is just as friendly, I did find a few differences in the quality of the food. First off, they seemed to have run out of rosemary in their bowl and it's something we're very fond of on the pizzas. But instead of getting more of it out, the guy kept literally scraping the bottom of an empty bowl and adding imaginary rosemary onto the pizza. It would have appreciated it if he had just got some more out or let us know that they are out. Also, I think the ovens might be a little too hot because the toppings and the outer crust were cooked perfectly on all 4 pizzas but the center was still a little soggy and not the nice crisp goodness we're used to at MOD. I guess it could have just been an off day, especially since it was Sunday night near closing time. I might go back again sometime and give them another shot and hopefully it will be better. read more

My first time eating at a MOD pizza was at Bumbershoot this past weekend. As a first-timer, I felt like their ordering system was needlessly overcomplicated - like, enough to require an employee whose sole job is to give a 5 minute presentation to people waiting in line so they know how to order when they get to the front. Seems to be a popular chain, though, so I guess it's working for them. Staff was really friendly. But honestly, the pizza just wasn't that good. Thin crust is usually my preference, but this was sort of like eating a mushy cracker. Toppings were sparse. Even though I ordered a small, there was plenty of room for more than 3 pieces of pepperoni. Part of their schtick is that you can order as many toppings as you want at no extra charge, but don't expect to see too much of the toppings you ask for. The only reasons I knocked a star off are because of the CRAZY lines, the one dude that worked there that washed his hands & then touched his glasses & jeans before putting on gloves (I figure the oven burns off the germs but still) & the lack of Ding Dongs.They used to sell Ding Dongs & now they don't. I love anyplace that has customization of your food as as option. It's such a relief that I can eat here with my husband without guessing what's in the food or feeling like I'm making the cooks job harder with my food intolerances. They also have beer & hard cider. My offspring loves MOD and I'm a big fan as well. I love the fast service and options. The only thing that slows down the fast service is the ridiculous customers that hold up the line, trying to figure out what kind of pizza they want, or how many toppings they're going to put on their pizza, or how to combine a salad and a pizza. It's pizza, please figure it out folks. But...that's not MOD's fault. I love the refillable drinks, $1 milk for the kids, and you really can't go wrong with $1 Ding Dongs, can you? Well, there used to be Ding Dongs before the great Hostess crash of 2012. Sadness. Staff is friendly and efficient. There are just enough back there to get every job done. Overall, I like MOD Pizza and their business model, but this particular location is lackluster and not comparable with other locations that I've visited. To begin with, there is a little bit of a line and this is reflective of poor management of their workflow at this location. Once I arrived at the coveted order location in line, I was not greeted with a the normal friendliness exhibited at other locations. I asked the "Pizza Chef" for pesto sauce and she made the mistake twice in a row of using tomato sauce. Bingo! On the third attempt, she got it right. Then I was pushed down the line to another worker who completed the pizza building process. Once it was cooked and ready for pick-up, I was not asked if I wanted any sauce on top. Instead, a plate with my pizza was shoved in my face. I've had issues at another location where I placed an internet order, arrived right on time, and they forgot to make my pizza! These new MOD restaurants are cool. Basically a Chipotle model for pizza. Ingredients are fresh and varied, and the pricing is great. I was blown away today when I brought a group of 40 boys - not the easiest crowd to manage. They had us through the line in no time and the pizzas came pretty quickly. GREAT staff, very friendly. The "like Subway for pizza" idea is cool, and their ingredients seem to be good quality. If you happen to arrive when the line is short, you can get a decent pizza fairly quick. On the down side, if there are more than a few people in line I would suggest finding food elsewhere unless you have plenty of time to kill. The employees seem to spend more time chit-chatting among themselves than I would describe as "professional." Other negatives: I feel that they often leave the pizza in the oven a bit too long and end up burning the crust pretty bad; the crust is skimpy thin - and they make their "breadsticks" and cinnamon sticks out of the same thin bread (which is great for their profits - not so great if you like breadsticks and cinnamon sticks); they once gave my friend's pizza to someone else, retrieved it from the other customer, then doused it with sriracha sauce (which my friend did not want any of). Helpful note: If you like a thicker crust, their "large" size pizza is actually their regular size pizza with an extra layer of dough on the bottom. read more

MOD Pizza is great, but I wouldn't return here again for lunch or dinner. I went on Saturday evening and the food court was dead. Everyone was either eating at MOD Pizza or the other restaurant. The restaurant environment is great. They play fun tunes, but it's not exactly a thrilling place. The sauce was a great flavor compliment. I split a meats and tomato topped pizza with my mother, we both loved it. Dad got his own custom pizza. Also loved that you could add specialty cheeses to the top (parmesan & asiago) along with some spices. We also got a Caesar salad and ate every bit of it!! I love the pizzas here, the choice of toppings is amazing and they are so generous with the toppings. I particularly love their crust and the pizza is always so fresh. This is our go to place for pizza as this is pretty close by and you can pick it up quickly. Wish they deliver, but they don't. But the pizza prices are really reasonable for what you get. Why was my phone constantly dying in Seattle? Oh, cuz my location services were on. Damn iPhone. On an apparently rare gorgeous day in Seattle, I needed to anchor myself to an outlet so I wouldn't be completely lost in my wanderings. In my search for an outlet, I came across this pizza joint, which had 3 outlets throughout. I decided to park my rear here so I could charge up and have a beer while I wait. You'd figure a beer break wouldn't warrant a Yelp review, and a 2 star review at that. Well, my experience here was so dismal that it did. The prime-real-estate table next to the open doorway that leads to an outside patio was taken up... but not by patrons... It was taken up by workers on their break. I don't mind table sharing, necessarily; however, when the cashier asked the guy next to the outlet if he could possibly move, another worker answered for him "Why? He ain't hurtin' nobody!" Well, actually, you're hurting the quality of my day. Anyway, after ordering my beer (and this took a long minute as well because, despite the fact that the restaurant was empty and there were at least 4 workers behind the counter and several more scattered about the small dining area, they were busy being engaged with each other and it took a while to get anyone's attention. Awesome. I love being invisible.), I had to content myself with sitting behind the soda machine and enjoying the beautiful day from afar. *sigh* Point being, this place gets 2 stars for overall piss poor service. We're in Seattle for a day before an Alaskan cruise and wanted to sightsee a bit, so we decided on Chihuly. The problem was we were starving after our flight, luckily the Armory (building where Mod and the whole food court are located) is next to Chihuly and a 10min walk from our hotel. Let me just tell you, on this cold rainy day, sinking our teeth into that delicious pizza and salad was all we needed. I was starving so I inhaled it all, we got two Mod sized pizzas (#7 and #8 I believe, the spicy one without jalapeños so as not to tempt fate) and I had no idea you can add whatever you want on there for no additional cost! I don't trust my pizza building skills so I kept to the originals but asked to add a drizzle of pesto to the #7; they came out of the oven hot, were sliced and served right away, and I got to watch them make it. I also got two Mod sized Caesar salads for my family, and they were actually delicious (and I'm not a salad person). For three people it was almost too much food, but since we hadn't eaten since 9am central time we were famished. It was excellent, hot, and perfectly tasty--next time I come to Seattle I'll definitely be back. The only problem with this place is it's so good, whenever we are at Seattle Center, we never get to try any other places to eat. This is where we go every time. Let's be honest, the value here is fantastic. Think about what you pay for cardboard crust topped with fake cheese at Little Ceasar's compared to this and it's really an excellent deal. So the price is great, but so is the pizza. They have several signature pizzas you can select from, or you can build your own. They have 4 different sauces you can choose, 5 different cheeses, about 8 different meats, 15 veggies and then a few extras like basil or garlic. Deciding what to order can be rather difficult actually. Did I want a simple pepperoni or should I try a white sauce with grilled chicken, roasted peppers and arugula and rosemary? I'll admit, I panicked and went with pepperoni and sausage. Which I still didn't regret. So once you have made your decision which really, for as long as you will have to stand in line you should have your mind made up by the time you get up to order, you are greeted by a pizza specialist. I suppose they call them employees, but I prefer pizza specialist. In all my experiences, they have always been friendly and smiled at me or joked with me. Really a great bunch. Once they write your order, you go pay and wait for your name to be called while sitting out in the sun or watching them work magic at the fire oven. When it's ready the crust is crisp, the cheese is melty and it's really a good pie for the price. It's not gourmet, and it's certainly no Pizzeria Bianco, but it's pretty darn good for a quick bite to eat while enjoying the day downtown. I have really missed MOD since I found out I have Celiac Disease. I am so excited that they now have a GF pizza option. GF pizza crust can be so hit or miss. This is definitely a hit. They also have dairy free cheese. My husband has a dairy allergy and is picky about fake cheese. He was super excited. It tasted great and he felt like he was eating real pizza. I had a kitchen sink kind of pizza with lots of pesto and Greek/Mediterranean flavors. I highly recommend finishing it off with the fig balsamic sauce.
