I've been here a few times before and honestly always liked the whole concept of being able to throw on whatever toppings you want without getting charged extra for every little thing. The pizza was good as usual, but what stood out this time was the customer service. My daughter took forever trying to decide what she wanted and Drew was super patient with her the whole time and didn't make us feel rushed at all, which I appreciated because anyone with kids knows how that can go sometimes. Price wise, we got 2 MOD pizzas and drinks for around $35. In Seattle these days that honestly feels pretty normal, especially with how expensive everything has gotten lately. Only thing I'd mention is there's not a ton of seating inside the actual restaurant, but there were plenty of seats out in the hallway area so it wasn't really a big issue for us. For a location located in Seattle Center, I always expect this business to have an extremely long line. And at times, they do- however, the staff can really keep the line moving. I do mobile orders here every now and then. I'm always pleased with the customer service. They make sure your order is prepared correctly and they're very honest if they made a mistake. This happened to me once- they asked if it'd be okay to make me a new one and that it'd take a little more time. I appreciated their honesty and I, of course, didn't mind waiting longer. I'd rather a staff that wants the customer to have good quality food than rushing it. I know there are some customers upset with the price raises lately. I also remember a time when a Mod pizza was around $8. In my opinion, I think it's still a solid deal. I love Mod Pizza. I had this the first time I came to Seattle and really enjoyed it. It is a pizza place where you can customize your order and make your own pizza. Think of it as a Chipotle version of pizza. It is located right in the armory near a couple other restaurants. You can easily get here by the monorail. It is located right next to other Seattle locations such as the Space Needle and Climate Change Arena. I decided to go with one of the Tristan. It was a veggie pizza with mushrooms, asiago, peppers, and pesto sauce. It took a while for everything to cook and be served to you so don't expect to get out quickly. The pizza was very good and filling. We were heading to a Kraken game at the arena so we wanted a more affordable meal than eating over there. After a full afternoon of the Space Needle, Museum of Pop Culture, and the Chihuly Garden & Glass - we were totally famished!! MOD Pizza is definitely similar to other build-your-own pizza joints. The thing I like best about these places is the only set price for a pizza, with any toppings on the menu that I want! And me...I want it all! Seriously, I don't care...I love colors, drag that thing through the garden! I don't care either if the crust bends when I pick up a slice, just gimme yummy toppings! Out of all the places I've had a custom-made pizza before...MOD Pizza is tops in my book! So yummy! My pizza was bonkers, it was heavy! Crust could barely contain the toppings but I paid no attention. I ate whatever fell off with a fork! I for some reason LOVE arugula to finish off a pizza. Peppery taste, adds nice bite and texture! I liked the combo of the BBQ sauce with the fig balsamic glaze. In retrospect I should have gone with a regular red sauce to give more balance but at the time I was so hungry I demolished this pizza! It was nice to have a big meal, but at the same time have some good veggies to go along with my naughty pizza. For purists, this is NOT! Next time we are back in Seattle we are definitely hitting up MOD Pizza for some pie. Value is great too compared to many of the other food offerings in the Armory. I cannot believe my boyfriend and I just ate MOD's for the FIRST time yesterday. We've wasted years just passing this place when we could have enjoyed their delicious (and fairly cheap!) wood-fired pizza way sooner! We each had a whole Signature (11-inch) pizza to customize however we pleased (at no additional cost!) and even though we were STUFFED by the time we both finished, we still found ourselves wanting more! So you can imagine the torture I'm experiencing as I'm writing of our experience a day later... The place opened 10:30 AM (a Saturday) and we got there around 10:40 AM, which was perfect timing, because we were the first ones there. The staff were all friendly, informative, and understanding as we told them that it was our first time there and that we were unfamiliar with the whole ordering process. We loaded each of our pizzas with every topping we liked (which was a lot), we payed for our $20-ish meal (including one small fountain drink to share), and our pizzas were done within minutes! Of course, we added extra sauce to top off our pizzas (I got the dollops of marinara and my boyfie got the barbecue swirl). By the time we got to a table, that's when a huge line started to form. MOD's is per-fect-ion! It HAS been a long time since I've had wood-fired pizza in general, but does it get better than this? Great staff, great service, and AMAZING pizza!
