Thank you, MOD Pizza for offering vegan cheese. I have been craving pizza for weeks, and Dear Hubby just brought home dinner from MOD's. I'm loving my favorite toppings with their non-dairy "cheese" to pull it all together. My taste buds are doing a happy dance right now. He also decided to try their cheesy garlic bread, and had them make it with the non-dairy version of cheese, as well. It could use a bit more fresh garlic, or a hint more garlic salt, but overall, a solid choice. It would be good dipped in fresh marinara, which is a taste idea that takes me back to the late 80's. I worked in a retail store in Conejo Valley Plaza with a pizza place two doors down. On payday I would go and treat myself to an order of cheesy breadsticks with marinara sauce for dipping. Always a great lunch choice, especially when I was younger. It's marvelous when a particular scent or taste of food transports you back to positive memories from days gone by. Came here to grab takeout for dinner. They are still not allowing eat-in at this location due to the pandemic. You can order online or in store. The employees were super friendly and were working hard to keep up with all of the orders. They were plenty busy. There were a lot of online orders that delayed the in-store line a bit, but thats okay because we are all in this together. The pizza was cooked well and tasted great. There are lots of topping choices and they all looked fresh. I've been here several times before and it is always good. Can't wait until we can go back to dining in again. Usually pretty good, both food and service-wise. Tonight was an unfortunate exception. My wife and I ordered on the app for pickup. Everything went fine, until we got home. My pizza's crust was burnt to death on 2 1/2 pieces out of the 5. See attached picture. I don't k own how this happens; is quality not checked when boxing the pizzas? Either the guy (who I assume was the manager) didn't see and that means wasn't doing his job, or he saw it and didn't care; which is by far the worst of the two options. So now I had to drive back to restaurant and get a pizza remade. I was offered barely an apology and on the box of my re-made pizza, there was a card for a free pizza. But it was just sat there, nobody told me anything about the card, an apology when receiving the card, nothing. The male employee (who again, I'm guessing is the manager because the young woman actually doing the cooking of the pizzas had him check my remake before boxing it) and the young woman working were joking about the burnt crust. Saying the new one should be good "as long as you didn't burn this one" and both proceeded to chuckle. Now I agree, in the grand scheme of the world today, a burnt crust isn't that big of a deal. But every action has a consequence, no matter how seemingly insignificant. I had to leave my house to come back which means my wife had to eat her pizza by herself, on our only mutual day off this week. I had to take the time to leave her and my 15 month old son to go back to a restaurant we were all just at because someone didn't or wouldn't do their job the first time. If they saw it was burnt when we were there to pick it up, just tell me and fix it. Easy. No problem. But now I didn't get to eat dinner with my family if I wanted them to have hot food. The pizza shouldn't have made it into my hands as a customer. Quality checks by 2 employees either didn't happen or wasn't worth taking the time to fix. A burnt crust is a small thing, but everything affects everything. And a small burnt crust, that should have been fixed before I ever saw it, turned into a ruined dinner time for a family. I've had MOD Pizza for some time now. Every time has been a great experience. The staff are so chill on making your order. No matter if they have a huge line or just busy in general, they always take care of you. My usual go too, is the MOD size pizza, with red sauce, mozzarella, parmesan , bacon, pepperoni and buffalo sauce on top before putting the pizza in the oven. If pizza is not your style, you can choose to build your own salad. Like the pizza, you get unlimited toppings and it is served in bowl which is just the right size to satisfy your hunger. For the drinks, you can choose from their specialty teas & lemonades, soft drinks, milkshakes, bottled drinks or order a beer from their tap. Of course, they also have desserts.
