It's a local gem tucked in between California Fish Grill and Cold Stone creamery.. Lulu was working the register and recommended the Hot Honey slice. It was a great big slice of Wonderful. It's thin crust, so a little crispy, but an excellent combination, paired with the Valkyrie Amber, which is a local brew. Price is reasonable, considering the multiple TV decor, and the quality of the food. Well recommended, will return. read more

Slice Houses are popping up all over. So happy that they are opening one soon near me in Porter Ranch as well, so excited! But not open yet and I was craving Slice House and Simi is the closest one. This location is right off Tapo Canyon near the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Ace Hardware. Big parking lot, so parking is easy. The employees were very nice, helpful with questions and took our order and got our food out quickly, it was busy, so that is always great. I really like the minimalistic and modern look at Slice House and the black walls make it feel sleek and comfy inside. They have a wall TV's playing sports and lots of seating inside as well as patio seating outside. The have a self serve drink area as well. Now to the food, so many options with pizza here, Detroit style, New York style, Sicilian, grandma's style. Something for everyone's taste. We got the Detroit style motorhead's as well as a New York Style Wise guy. We also tried the pasta for the first time, let me just say amazing, home made hand pulled pasta, chewy and thick cut, really loved it, just wish there was more for $16. We got the Bucatini with meat sauce, try it, you will not regret it, YUM! This review is not about the pizza as I think the pizza here is fantastic. I had a poor experience unfortunately. Ordered the food online, serve time said 20 minutes so I got to the restaurant right at the 20 minute mark. I was told I was 10 minutes early so they offered me a water cup and a seat until it was ready. This didn't really bother me as I knew that the food would be fresh when they brought it out to me. Waited for 10 minutes, then 15 minutes. After close to 20 minutes I decided to go back to the counter to see how much longer it would be only to find out the food had been ready and was just sitting there. I left feeling fairly annoyed only to get home and discover that the cheesy garlic bread was room temperature and they forgot the large side of ranch I ordered. Make sure you check up on your food and check the bag they staple closed before you leave. read more

Slicehouse is a gameday special. They have amazing square pies and slices ready to go that I've been going to grab for years! My personal favorite is the Angeleno, but love other slices like the Detroit Rosa, Purple Potato, and this one in the picture that has pesto drizzle with no sauce(forgive me for forgetting the name). This location specifically has a nice seating arrangement and I have been able to see some good games here while enjoying one of their nice beers on tap! read more

I've honestly always enjoyed the space ever since I tried the first location in Westlake. It's a simple go to for any style pizza that you'd like. I prefer the New York here, but I've also had the Detroit and italian. The people are pleasant and it's always just a chill spot to go to for a quick bite. Depending on which location you go they have all the sports events played on the TVs which I think is pretty cool. read more

You can get just a slice or a whole pie and they have this thick crust that is amazing. My grandson's favorite dish is their spaghetti. I was so impressed by Slice House in Simi Valley. The employee who took my order was friendly and nice. There was a large variety of by the slice pizza options to choose from which made my decision a tough one. I decided to get the Sweet Gino and the Angelino. The Sweet Gino was a grandma style slice that was simple and tasty. The Angelino was a heavier slice of grandma style pizza with a lot of meat and a lot of flavor. I enjoyed combination of flavors in the Angelino. Both slices were delicious! I ordered a mixed greens side salad that was also simple. The pasta dish I decided to try was the gemelli with vodka cream sauce. I loved the texture of the pasta and the flavor of the rich vodka cream sauce. The 3 meatballs were great. They were flavorful and came with a lot of tomato sauce. The portion was shareable. Everything I ate is something I would come back to order. Slice House's menu is extensive! Got the pepperoni with bacon n sausage then the drop of cream cheese?.. other was same thing but no bacon on the other slice. Wasn't even above a 5/10 . Much rather get Toppers. I was visiting some friends in the neighborhood and decided to bring my favorite pizza to their house plus getting the opportunity to check out this location. This was my first time here and it offers a bigger parking lot and sitting area compared to the Thousand Oaks location. The pizza was cooked great. I placed an order over the phone and they accepted payment. The only negative experience was that the person who charged me over the phone added an unauthorized tip to my bill and I had to call the next day and speak to the manager. The manager pulled up our order and quickly resolved the issue by refunding me the overage. I was thankful that it was handled promptly but I am wary of placing future orders over the phone with them. The T.O. location has honest workers, never had an issue and I go there often. My family and I were on our way back home from the San Fernando Valley and we decided to stop and try this pizza spot I had bookmarked a while ago. I love that you can order individual slices of pizza, because we all know that sometimes it can be difficult to decide on which toppings we want especially if you have young children. They also have so many options to choose from. My son wanted a slice of pepperoni pizza, my daughter wanted cheese pizza, my husband wanted to try their "wiseguy" pizza and I wanted their special of the day which was "Motorhead". The food was really good and I especially loved my pizza! My kids ate almost the whole slice, but it's rather large so they didn't finish the whole thing. The service was a little disappointing the lady that helped my family and I wasn't the friendliest. But she took our order and gave us a pager, so we would know when our order was ready. The inside of the restaurant was pretty busy so we opted for the patio. I actually loved the patio! It was so nice, loved the water fountain and all the green trees. Got some Hot Honey slices and was not impressed. Save $5 a slice and go get yourself a Costco slice. It tastes almost exactly the same. I guess the Hot Honey one is not the award winning variety! IMHO, I didn't think it was worth the $8 a slice, nothing special here, maybe they ran out of Honey. I would have gone back in to say something but we took it to go. Since having Slice House, I haven't gone back to Toppers Pizza. Yep! 100% the best pizza in Simi! Basically everything on the menu is super delish! My favorite is their XL 20" New York Style. Half cheese and half pepperoni, double sliced. If we order on a Sunday or weekday I do the "Pickup Special". Which includes an XL 20" New York Style pizza, 3 meatballs and 2 chocolate cookies for $35.....highly recommend! read more

I got a Sicilian with pepperoni. the pepperoni was awesome. if I was only rating that it would be 5 stars. unfortunately, the crust had a sour taste and a really really sour aftertaste. it was unpleasant and I couldn't even finish 1 slice of the whole pizza I got. I have only had Sicilian style pizza from one other place so I'm not sure if its supposed to be sour like that because I haven't had this issue before. the other place I go also has a more oily (positive) crust and this one was pretty dry which I did not like. I do not know if this was a one off, what Sicilian pizza is supposed to taste like, or something else but I do not think I will risk getting pizza from here again. read more

Slice House Simi Valley Location is definitely my favorite out of the two in Ventura County. Same owner, great food but I definitely appreciate the more spacious restaurant and large shaded patio here. I think this definitely enhanced my experience from the last time I came to their other location. Also since they are past opening week this location was much more chill and low key which i definitely liked. The Simi location has ample parking and again, the layout is slightly larger than their TO location, at least it felt that way. Staff are super friendly and nice. The owners made my friend's birthday bash here awesome! With reserved patio tables since we asked in advance, it was really lovely as we were a large group and it assured we could all sit together and have some privacy. The staff here are really nice and I'm sorry I didn't catch one of the gals names because she made my experience top notch! For example, I just wanted to buy a beer (after we already had our pizzas ordered) and I asked a young kid at the register if I was able to order a beer at another register without needing to wait in the 10 people deep line, he told me one line. Thought that was unusual but I listened. Thankfully this gal caught the conversation and nicely ushered me back to the side where takeout orders are placed and rang me up for a quick beer. This was much appreciated and honestly probably increased their beer sales for the night! Haha. I told my friends if you wanted a beer the gal at the corner was happy to help us and ring us up there and as a result many more beers were bought not having to wait in the main ordering line. Lol. Pizzas came out relatively quickly given they are all made fresh to order. The pizzas looked exceptional and having not been a huge fan of their thicker square pizzas I sampled a couple of their thin New York pizzas to give them another try. They were delicious! Also the slices are so big and generous it was smart to have the pizza slices all cut down the middle - double the servings and still a great slice. Big fan of the classic pepperoni pizza, lots of meat, tasty! Also the cheese pizza with vodka sauce was good too. Mild in flavor but tasty. I now know what to get here. Pizza was perfect. If you are looking for a really good pizza and especially something different, then this is the place. I have never heard of this place but saw the rave reviews and how it's from a 13x World Pizza champ. So I was intrigued. I decided to get the 20 " Cal Italia as it was the gold Medal winning pizza from Food Network challenge. How good can it possibly be? It was delicious! I appreciate the fact that it's totally different flavors that I had never had on a pizza. It's a bit sweet and salty at the same time. I love exploring new flavors as I have been into Pizza Twist and their Indian fusion and this is a welcomed new comer to the mix. Sorry I couldn't take a pic before someone grabbed a slice but everyone thought it was great. I really enjoyed the crust. It's very chewy and different from the other pizzas I have tried. Tried this place because we were in town visiting the Presidential Library. So glad we decided to take a chance. The pizza was phenomenal, the meatball were delicious, and the gelato was yummy. The real star though was the cannolis. They were so good we went back and bought a second round. The two items we wouldn't go back for were the rainbow cake which was dry and dense and the chocolate chip cookies that were bland. The best pizza was their gold award winning cal Italia. Would love to give a higher rating for this new entry to the Simi Valley dining scene, but the more I thought about it, the less enthusiastic I felt. Dear Hubby and I had a busy Mother's Day. We started with brunch with the family, then headed over toward the coast to hang out, and ended up deciding to try Slice House because I was craving pizza by that time of the evening. It was our first visit, and we walked in with no pre-conceived notions. I had checked ahead of time on whether they have a vegan cheese option, and they do. The indoor space was larger than expected from the outside. An ordering line to the left wall was moving quickly. They have big menu boards hanging on the back wall above the kitchen, and the cashier stands. For a first-time, it can be overwhelming. Easier to take one of their to-go menus and peruse that way. Especially because the ordering line moves quickly. A large case holding prepared pizzas sold by the slice is also at the ordering counter. Many guests order a single slice of pizza. Plentiful options on type of crust, style of pizza, and different toppings make for brain-work to figure out what you want to order. If you need gluten-free crust or vegan cheese, there aren't any ready-to-go slices; we had to order a small pizza of our own. A 12" "Grandma-style" "Little Italy"-version pizza with vegan cheese came to something like $32, which seemed steep. We paid and took a number, found a table outside, and settled in to wait for our order. Since it was being prepared fresh, it took a while to come. Patience can be a virtue. In due course, the pizza arrived. It looked like a true masterpiece. That's when things got sticky, literally. Instead of using ceramic or even melamine plates, they gave us cheap paper plates. Plastic utensils are what's available for cutting the slice into edible bites. The crust was fabulous - delicious in its own right. WAY TOO MUCH SAUCE was slathered on top of the pizza. It overwhelmed the toppings, to the point where I could hardly tell what other ingredients were there. It was supposed to be Italian sausage, thin pepperoni, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, and the vegan cheese. After paying $4 extra for the cheese, I was dismayed to hardly be able to see any. The sausage and mushrooms came in too little a quantity. The pizza was mainly topped in the homemade sauce (delicious, but a little goes a long way, and in the quantity provided, was overwhelming), and the roasted peppers. I was too intimidated by the line to ask if olives could be substituted for the peppers. I think that would have helped balance the sauce somewhat. The plastic knife and fork were no match for the crust of the slices as they began to cool off from cooking. We ended up trying to eat the very messy pieces with our fingers, which required using about half a container of napkins to clean up. Have I mentioned - too much sauce? ;-) Based on the quality of the crust, I would plan to give them another try. I'd plan on ordering something other than the red sauce to see if a better taste experience would emerge to compliment the crust. They definitely have a lot of staff at this point, so that's a plus as far as service goes. Though it's an extra expense, upgrading the plates and utensils would also provide a better experience for the guests. I had a leftover piece for lunch today and ended up scraping off most of the sauce, then adding back the toppings that had been covered by it. I preferred it to freshly made because the flavor balance was improved. read more

Our son raved about this place so when pizza night rolled around again, we gave them a try. Ordered a pepperoni and one paisano pie. These NY Style pies were massive, almost did not fit in the car to get home, and thats no joke. Service was good, the place seemed clean and well appointed, plenty of folks eating in enjoying their food. I suppose of all of us, I was the least impressed with the pizza, the flavor was just not up to the hype and honestly they are no bargain either. Would I go back? Slice House is a great concept for a restaurant and I'm glad there is one here in Ventura County. Many times we have to go to a mall to get pizza by the slice and sometimes we just don't want to deal with the mall crowds. Best part is that this place has a great environment. Venue: Lots of parking nearby in a lot. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Their tables can handle small or large groups. They continuously bake pizzas but the temperature is not hot inside the restaurant. It's a bit loud inside, so if you need a quieter experience, sit outside. Service: Service from the staff is good. They took our orders quickly at the counter and brought our food to the table within minutes. They even come by to check on us and take away plates. Food: I like how they have Detroit and Grandma style pizzas. Both were tasty and had nice crusts. The Grandma style pizza has a sweeter sauce, and I'm a big fan of that. The ricotta cheese they add on top is also a nice touch. The pizzas were good quality. Next time we will try ordering a whole pie to see if it gets better. I had no idea I was secretly a fan of Tony Gemignani and his pizzas. Back in 2016 I went to Las Vegas. While in downtown LV our group wanted pizza. I found Pizza Rock and we went to go and check it out. Since then Pizza Rock has been a must visit for each trip to LV. Fast forward to late 2022. I find out Slice house was going to open in Thousand Oaks. I looked up the name and bam! Tony Gemignani has multiple restaurants and Pizza Rock was one of them. From then on I was pretty excited to check out Slice House. Burbank is more local for me and am patiently waiting for that location to open until all of a sudden Simi Valley has one. I came for the first time during their second weekend from their grand opening. Arriving around 12:30pm, there was a line but it was long enough to check out the menu, their specialties of the day and check out the vibes. They have a couple of registers taking all the orders. Inside at the time is pretty crowded being a new restaurant. Luckily there is outdoor seating that most did not want to occupy. I ordered a couple of slices while my buddy ordered three. The turn around from paying to receiving the food was within 10mins. My order was a Sweet Gino and the Motor head. Although they were both somewhat similar styles of pizza the Sweet Gino didn't come out as hot as the Motorhead. (maybe needed to sit a lil longer) Either way both slices were really good. I fill to get the full experience you would need to order a whole pie fresh out of the oven. If you ordered a slice you'll receive a pager but for a freshly baked pie, you'll get a number. Throughout the place I see people doing both slice and pie. One thing that is a little confusing is the pick up. There is no real designated location to pick up. But the logical area is where the cashiers were. I waited until someone could assist me but everyone was busy. I saw a couple of slices that could be mine and asked if it was my order. Overall I enjoyed the food and experience, even took a bit out of my friend's slices just to try. lol The funny thing was, while waiting to grab my order there was a lady that was waiting as well. She was on her phone telling whoever was on the other side of the line where she was at an what she is doing. I caught her saying "the place is just alright" and she wasn't impressed. Thought to myself if it was just ok, why are you here again? She secretly loves it and trying to be a picky critic.
